My friend and I went to Al Vento for Restaurant Week. It was a four course tasting menu. Our server was running around and I feel they should have had another one in that section. The first course was a fried oyster with black aioli. The presentation was something left to be desired. The aioli was salty and the dish was swimming in it. Second course was a clam soup. I had bits of clam shells in my rich soup. Also they were not properly cleaned, thus I found bits of sand and grit. Third course was a braised short rib. The balsamic reduction was overwhelming. It seemed like it was more of a pot roast. Last was a tiny scoop of ice cream, but it was a nice palette cleanser. Overall the courses were timed perfectly. However, I feel the food was not up to par with the description given on the website. I might be inclined to try this restaurant again, when they aren’t overwhelmed.

I took my mother in law to Al Vento on Sunday (2/18/2018) for Restaurant Week and it was AMAZING! We got four courses total and the menu was so diverse, anyone could find something. I had the oyster fritto black aioli, which I would explain as a deep fried oyster with such light breading and the oyster was still basically raw. They were perfect! Then the Caesar salad with the best tasting dressing I've ever had - I can only assume house made (just like everything else). Third course was three giant scallops with avocado, pomegranate seeds, beet shoestrings, and a creamy polenta. My mouth is just watering thinking about it. Final course was a cherry, pecan, cinnamon, rum cake gelato specially made just for Al Vento! There was also a 1/2 off special on a particular bottle of wine. Our waitress told us on the way out they ALWAYS have a tasting menu (similar to restaurant week) and it changes every so often so you can keep trying it. My M.I.L. had completely different choices for each course, but they were equally delicious! Ambiance was quiet (but not TOO quiet) and very special feeling. They had an outdoor area about the same size as the restaurant, but closed for winter I'm assuming. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone that asks for a hidden gem or delicious food. 10/10

Wonderful for a quiet date. Though we were scheduled to arrive at nine and they close at nine, they allowed us to dine at our leisure in spite of the reservation error. This should explain all you need to know about their devotion to the diner. A+ service that you barely realize is there until you need them, often moments before you look for a server. Amazing food. If there's a low point, it's in the somewhat variable crowd (a couple were drunk and loud), but be assured, it was tolerable.

Went for valentine's day. We thought the food was good but slightly overpriced for what it was. Not uncommon for a V-day menu though. The covered patio was a little loud when it filled up but it didn't bother us. The inside would've been much quieter if we had wanted it. Overall, had a great time. Looking forward to coming back for their outdoor summer patio and trying their regular menu.

We have eaten at Al Vento several times per year for many years, but this was the first time we decided to try their special menu for Valentines Day. My wife had the crab crostini, Ceasar Salad and Salmon while I had the Beef in Tomato juice appetizer, the Ceasar and the Braised Short Ribs. We very much enjoyed all of the courses in our respective meals. Despite every table being filled, the serving staff was very efficient and were always just a step away whenever a course needed to be served, a water glass refilled, a dirty dish cleared. They provided great service and always did so with a smile. Al Vento continues to be one of our favorite restaurants and we highly recommend it to all who are seeking great Italian food at good prices.

Great place to grab a quiet, fancy dinner with your SO. Food was great, service was friendly and amazing - manager made sure to ask us a few times how the night was going so you can definitely tell they care about their patrons. Definitely recommend.

Our dining experience started off great. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation due to a snafu in our plans before dinner. They were able to seat us right away which was aweomse and much appreciated. Things went downhill from there. We ordered the calamari to start and it came out overly breaded and over fried. Our server never stopped by to see how it was or how we were doing but a very courteous assistant/busser inquired and we told her we didn’t want it and why and asked her to relay the message to our server. She asked if we wanted a fresh order and we said no, but maybe 7 minutes later another order arrived (not much different from the first), we didn’t eat much at all. Then our entrees came out and my husbands was cold. A man in a sport coat came by and asked how everything was, we told him my husbands meal (spinach ravioli and meatball) was cold and they sent it back to the kitchen to heat it up. Again, our server never stopped by to see how our meal was and didn’t acknowledge the disappointment with our appetizer or entree when she brought the bill. And the bill included the full cost for both of them. Our total bill for an appetizer, soup, two entrees and a glass of wine was around $78 (before tip). We’re used to paying that for a night out but not for underwhelming food and poor service. I must say the assistant/busser was great, just not our actual server. If you’re looking for consistent, tasty Italian food and great service - I’d direct you to Broders, Prima or Bar La Grassa.

We were disappointed in a couple of the entrees. Unfortunate for us the hanger steak was very salty and half our party ordered it and weren’t able to eat it. My husband however was very pleased with his tasting menu and the appetizer of shrimp and calamari was fantastic. Love the atmosphere and will go again and maybe be a little more cautious and ask more questions when ordering.

I had been here previously for date nights and it was amazing. This past time, was just okay. Our server was impeccable and the food was great, but we were there (a group of six) celebrating a special occasion and were crammed up front near the hostess desk. There were people hitting my mother in law with their coats and forcing themselves in the small space between her and the hostess desk waiting for their tables, as there isn't an official waiting area. I had only sat in the back room previously and this was my in laws first time visiting the restaurant, so we were all taken aback by the experience. It was just frustrating because reservations were recommended and the hostess continued taking walk-ins when there was no space for them to wait. During this time, she never apologized to our table for our inconvenience. My advice, request a table in the back room, otherwise, it'll ruin your experience.

Very good food. The service was not good. It took 15 minutes to get a Manhattan. Slow and unwelcoming beginning left a poor image.

We have friends in town for super bowl. Enjoyed an un-rushed meal with very good service. I had been wanting to dine here for a while and this was an excellent choice for the occasion. Nice to have dining like this in a neighborhood setting.

Every time I go to al Vento the food is amazing, the service is wonderful and I love the atmosphere. The menu changes often so there’s always something new to discover. The scallops with spinach risotto were divine!

The food was fine but nothing to write home about. I know this is supposed to be a more upscale/special place and it does have a nice feel. We had bruschetta, which was good and a Neapolitain Pizza, which was pretty bland. The gnocci were good but also nothing to rave about. We would definitely go back but probably not necessarily because we were overwhelmed by how great the food is there.

This is a great small neighborhood Italian restaurant with great food & decent wine list. We all had the special BOGO spaghetti & meat balls. It was exceptional
