The staff were kind, efficient and attentive. We were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary and felt well taken care of.

We had dinner with the family. We all enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was great an so was the view. Our table looked out at the lake. We talked about coming back an trying new things the next time.

Fettuccine de Mar was great. A bit messy having to take off the shrimp tails. Friend hand lamb and said she was very satisfied with the taste and generous amount. Have had the chicken piccata and loved that before. Nice and reasonably priced bottles of wine. Good for a special dinner.

We were warmly greeted and taken to our table that we requested. The server Brian was very nice and helpful. The food was a little disappointing for the first time ever. We went to an early dinner (5pm) and my husband ordered the Prime Rib medium rare (special of the night). When our food came out our waiter Brian let us know that it was the last piece of Prime Rib and they were out and that it was not medium rare (it was well done). At this point my husband accepted the dinner because we had plans after and didn't have time to order something that cooked to his liking (we also wanted to eat at the same time). Very disappointed that the chef did not let our server know when he pulled our dinner ticket that he would not be able to serve the Prime Rib medium rare because it was the last piece and to check with us prior to cooking our dinner if he would like something else or if that was going to be ok.
Every other time we have been there, the food has been wonderful and perfectly cooked. But, it seems weird on a Friday night at 5 pm to run out of your special (& Tiramisu) so early into the evening.

Hello,
As we are trying to reach out to the large area doing our reviews. We have lived in the area for 23 years and never have heard or been to you restaurant, until we came across your location on OT. We arrived for lunch right @ 2:30 and greeted by a really charming man named Bryan.

Beautiful view, but when presented with the menu because immediately I looked again at my OT app. Bryan told us NOW lunch is only served on weekends, sorry that happened, now I was not able to taste the tortellini, not at 22.00 for lunch when on your menu for 14.00 for lunch.

At this point mood changed considerable, guarded you might say. We chose this:

Iceberg lettuce topped with bacon, red onion, tomato, caramelized walnuts, and Gorgonzola crumbles finished with our creamy homemade Gorgonzola dressing

Now as a great (I think) I know the difference between Iceberg and the bitter white ends of Romaine which we were served with a few green portions of the Romaine. Dressing was tasty but flavor was disturbed by the white ends of the Romaine. Iceberg lettuce would have been great and had the chef told Bryan he had to use Romaine we would have opted not to have the salad. At this point we just threw our experience up to having Pizza, seriously.

The Pizza was excellent, nothing on it but sauce and meat, none of those annoying bell peppers or onions, none, thanks for that.

We also had an order of the Cheese Bread, very tasty, but took the complimentary bread home, it was horrible, bland no flavor, sort of like something was missing, or like a bland soda bread.

That is about it, did suggest to Bryan to make sure you change your lunch menu to not available Mon-Fri. would be our recommendation also please do not take short cuts in ingredients, we all know Romaine is not the same as Iceberg Lettuce, also you realize a wedge salad is not served chopped up....again seriously.

Food was great. Service was poor...however it was automatic gratuity which may explain lack of accountability and apathy. Also there was A cold blast of air every couple minutes as the door would open. Much better in warmer months.

Definitely did not live up to the hype, as far as fettucine goes. I got the chicken fettucine and my wife got seafood fettucine. It was just not good, very bland. It was almost as if I were eating noodles in water with unflavored chicken. I was thoroughly disappointed. We also got calamari for an appetizer. It was as if they bought it from the freezer section at the dollar store. There was only a pepper flavor to it. It was not crunchy at all. It was in the shape of little rectangles. Olive garden was ten times better. The service was great though, I cannot complain about that.

My fiance and I had Valentine's Dinner. I had booked the table after reviewing their menu of mostly Italian food. We had already decided we were both in the mood for Chicken Parmesan and when we got there only to find out we could not order off the regular menu. Also, we were cramped as the tables were squished together. We decided to make the best of it and go with it and ordered our food. Just about every dish had alcohol in it which is contradictory to medicines we both take. This limited our choices. We ordered Calamari, and I have to admit, it was the worst Calamari I have ever tasted and it was served with Tartar Sauce? Big chunks as well instead of thinly sliced. My fiance's chicken dish was good, however, I went with the prime rib and it was gristly and very fatty, hardly any meat on my piece. The potatoes and vegetables were good. We decided to order Creme Brulee for dessert, only one out of two possible desserts that did not contain alcohol. Guess what? They were out. So we ordered the only other choice which was a Canolli. They brought us 3 of them (for the price of 1) and they were hard as rocks - almost too hard to eat. Then the waiter who barely made us feel welcome and did not smile once at us throughout the meal delivered our check - and informed us not to worry about tipping because a 20% gratuity was already added! For $127 total the quality of food, service, and being crammed into a corner was not worth it. Not sure if we'll be back to try their real menu and give them another chance. Their website where their menu's were located did not indicate a different menu for Valentines. We both love Italian and were extremely disappointed.

Me and my husband had dinner reservations Valentine’s Day at 5:30, we sat in the back and our waiter (unfortunately I can’t remember his name) was a tall black colored man. I’m disgusted by the meal we had especially for the price and the service provided. No mind you we’ve both eaten here numerous times and have always had great food and service. It’s why we made reservations there in the first place. But the dinner we had that night was far from the lovely meals we’ve had in the past. We both ordered the lobster and crab fettuccine. When the meals arrived both of ours arrived cold, now mind you after placing our order we received our food within 5 minutes which I found odd especially for a seafood dish on a busy night. It was cold, the lobster was way over cooked and rubbery and the crab or what was there if it was extremely sandy, in fact the whole dish had traces of sand in it. Truth be told it was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had and neither one of us even ate our meals. The waiter came over a few minutes after serving our food and asked how it was and we explained to him that our meals were cold, rubbery and sandy. That the meals were terrible and we were unhappy. His reply was “I’m sorry, would you like the check?” Now I’ve worked the restaurant business before and you never ask a customer if they’d like the check after complaining about there food. He never offered to get us anything else or bring us a new dish. Nothing just asked if we wanted the check. Needless to say I was furious! We paid our bill which was was close to $170 which included the mandatory 20% gratuity for a waiter that provided horrible service and crappy food. We then walked up front where I asked the lady at the front if I could speak to a manager, I said I know it’s busy but I’d like to speak to someone about our service. She said she would get someone but she never did we waited 20 minutes for someone to come talk to us and no one ever did... not sure we would ever wanna go back.

Very disappointed in our first visit to this restaurant. It was a holiday and they were busy, but the communication and welcome were lacking. We sat for at least 5 minutes without water until a busser stopped to check on us. The server then finally came over. When we asked to see a drinks or wine list, the server snapped, “I’m your wine list.”

We were put off by his rudeness and hesitated to even order appetizers from the very small holiday menu. There was no mention on the website of a limited menu - and we’d come in for chicken Parmesan, a standard. That was disappointing. We decided after the curt staff interaction and limited menu we’d leave after our underwhelming salads arrived.

Later, when we got the bill, we noticed we were charged an outrageous $18 for a single Bombay sapphire martini. More than even a New York City restaurant would charge.

So a martini, glass of wine, and two less than great dinner salads cost us over $50. Ridiculous for the quality and service. My boyfriend didn’t even want us to leave a tip, but we did. We won’t be back to this restaurant. Sad, because it had been recommended as a nice Italian restaurant.

We brought the extended family to Al Lago for Christmas Eve dinner. This is the second or third year we've done this, and it just keeps exceeding expectations! Between us all we had had the baseball steak, the rib-eye, the spaghetti with meatballs, fettucini alfredo with chicken, and chicken parmesan. It was all top notch - the steaks were very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The spaghetti with meatballs was some of the best we've ever tasted. We all ended up tasting each others because it was so good. Oh, if you go, be sure and order the bacon wrapped scallops, they were to die for:)

First time visit for dinner. Was a little disappointed in the section we sat in, after seeing all the lovely Christmas decorations when we went a few days before for happy hour we were hoping to get seated where we could see the lovely bar area. Food was decent and service was very good. Wine selection pretty good also.

When we arrived, having a reservation, the hostess said she didn’t have anywhere to seat us, but it turned out my daughter had already been shown to our table. Not a big deal. Food was wonderful, service was great as well. Restaurant was packed but still everything was top notch!

Great ambience, cozy environment and great service... but the food was overall overpriced and very bland. We started with garlic bread, which is a very easy dish- but we were so disappointed when it was literally just sliced bread with a melted piece of cheese on it. No garlic, butter or flavor. Horrible.
Waitress recommended the pizza- said it was amazing. Needless to say, we left most of it there as it was just as bad as the garlic bread, no flavor.
My son did get the truffle fries, and they were the only thing we all devoured... they were amazing. We probably won’t come here again, but if we do, we’ll stick with the fries, salad & maybe some sliders- all during happy hour when the prices actually reflect the quality of food.

We made reservations online and it it took a while to get a table. We were basically told they don’t pay much attention to the online reservations. Once seated, it took almost an hour and a half to get our food. The food was great, but way too long to wait to get it.

A very popular restaurant (especially on Friday evenings), so reservations are highly recommended. The only thing better than the food is the hostess and servers. They are all very pleasant and helpful in deciding items on the menu. The food is excellent and served hot. Some items on the menu seem a little pricey, but in general all good values. Great place for special events.

Made a reservation, still had to stand in line for 30 minutes. Food took 40 minutes to get to the table. Steak was burnt. Waiter was good though, not his fault. Won't be back anytime soon.

We wanted a nice dinner for our wedding anniversary and Al Lago delivered. Even with it being homecoming and having some other event going on, our service was outstanding and the food fantastic! Let's top the night off with the fact that our server had the best sense of humor and definitely made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be back!

My only complaint is the fish in my Fettuccini Di Mare was bland. Which was surprising because the rest of the dish was fantastic. It'll definitely be returning soon.

We picked this restaurant based on its location with a Mountain View and that it is an Open Table restaurant. The food was creative and delicious. Highly recommend.

Always the food is great here. We were on the patio as it was a warm evening. Patio furniture could be more cosy but is fair. Sometimes the road noise is too loud for conversation but seeing the lake is a pleasant diversion. Service is great.
