Delicious meal and great service. We will be back!
I've been a patron of Al Crostino for about three years and have never had a bad or even mediocre meal. Their appetizer and dinner menu specials are always changing so something is always new! Valentino makes a killer martini and the kitchen turns out the meanest Osso Bucco I've ever had the pleasure to taste!
The rigatoni a la Giuliana is amazing! Service is attentive, professional and kind. One of the best Italian restaurants in DC!
This is my favorite restaurant in Washington, DC.
Julianna is a fantastic host and cook. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It is reliable good and I bring all my international clients there because it reminds them of Europe. A must on your list.
Pre-concert meal. Food was excellent.
Pleasant atmosphere with outstanding food and service.
Appetizers are all over priced and nothing special. Main dish was very good though. Both my friend and I enjoyed our pasta. We also shared a bottle of wine, which was recommended by server. It was fine.
Very hospitable place for a a bite. Food was served at the right temperature for those who like their food nice and warm. Fresh and delicious brunch choices.
Great food and service. Acoustics are not the best--there was a large and loud group seated near us. It was hard not to hear them.
The atmosphere was good and the service was incredible but the food was not good. Unfortunately I️ will not be going back.
Great spot. ENjoyed the food and the service was great! Will be back again!
Quiet, comfortable-very good food and excellent service.
Great server amazing food wish I could just had more!!
I enjoyed the ambiance that was created for Valentine's Day and how quickly we were seated. The waiters were super friendly and allowed us ample time to pick our foods and were kind enough to recommend certain dishes (which turned out to be delicious!). I will likely come back sometime soon!
Food was decent but not spectacular. Service needs improvement.
Really nice and quiet. Food was excellent and service was very attentive.
This was a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. Superb food and service. A delightful ambience. Grazie!
We came for brunch and it was good. Nice location and nice quaint spot. Waiters were all dressed very nice and greeted us with a smile. We were the only ones in there at 11:00 and another party joined about halfway through. Some classics as well as some unexpected things on the menu. We skipped appetizers and opted to split the spaghetti carbonara and the chicken parm sandwich. The pasta was good, cooked well, heavy on onion flavor, which I liked, but some may not. Also the bacon was much more like ham, which is not my preference, but I know it's just an opinion. The chicken parm sandwich was just ok in my opinion. We got it because the waiter recommended it, so we assumed it was their specialty or something, but I wish I would have gone with something more unique. There should have been more tomato sauce or basil or something else to make the flavors more complex in my opinion, but the focaccia that it was on was a nice twist. They came around and refilled our mimosas at regular intervals and the wait staff made sure to ask us how everything was at regular intervals.
Loved everything about this meal! The homemade pasta is amazing!
This was, perhaps, the 4th or 5th time I've eaten at Al Crostino. Always with friends who are regulars. It has always been a superb dining experience. this time I opted for the monkfish and was disappointed. It seemed "tough" to me. It wasn't flaky. I had to use the prongs of the fork to separate it from the skin. I don't ear monkfish that often but this particular piece of fish left me...well, meh. Don't get me wrong! This is a wonderful restaurant -- family owned and operated and very hands on. The hospitality is first rate. The server was attentive but not overly so, tho I did have to ask another server for our check, as the room had quickly filled up.
My wife and I met my brother and his wife in Washington for a long weekend. Al Crostino came up on a we search, so we made reservations. We were not disappointed. The wine list was complete, and offered several mid-priced options. We had the monkfish and veal scaloppini, both of which were outstanding choices. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed knowing it is a family-run restaurant and met the owner at the door as we were leaving. We would consider Al Crostino again on our next trip to Washington
Loved the Lobster Ravioli and Gnocchi was perfectly prepared!!
Good - they did not allow the amount of points stated in the booking
It was great. Wonderful food in a “homey” environment.
Great service & great food!
We organized a surprise birthday party for one of us. We were 11 loud Italian women. The food was good, not fabulous though, they had a good wine list and the desserts were really good. The pasta is homemade and you can taste that, but the food lacks somewhat of strong and flavorful tastes.. The owner and her kids are really friendly and nice!
A bit pricey..probably because we drank too much wine :)
Awesome experience, the waitstaff and owner were super friendly and attentive, and the four course restaurant week meal was great.
Always and enjoyable dining experience!
We love the folks at Al Crostino! They always make us feel welcome and of course the food is great too!
Came here for dinner during Restaurant week. Was a 4-course deal. Really enjoyed the octopus that was on the antipasto menu. Rigatoni was the second course, also good. Had Salmon for the main, which was flavorful, and sorbet for dessert. Wine which was Pinot Grio was good as well. Would recommend.
Although the service was excellent and the food was fresh and served promptly, each and every dish could only be described as bland and uninteresting. It was memorable only for being unmemorable. The absolute worst aspect of our dinner was the unbelievable noise that prevented any kind of conversation. We left feeling assaulted by the din that grew increasingly worse as our room filled. Neither we nor the couple with whom we dined would ever return.
Always excellent food and overall dining experience. Miss the pasta and wine nights.
Phenomenal restaurant week dinner. They even did 4 courses versus the normal 3 for RW. The host/waiter seemed extremely stressed out and was curt with us. I think he was just having a bad day and the service isn’t normally like that. Food was exceptional. I will be back.
Great food and service for restaurant week!
James and Leo waited on us and were great host. We had a wonderful evening with great food and service!
My boyfriend and I happened to find this place on Open Table. Apparently this is a hidden gem per some research before booking the reservation. We were actually the only people dining at the restaurant. Which was great, because the dining area was very small. The restaurant has only six or so tables. The meal was excellent. We had fried risotto balls and they were delicious! My boyfriend had the Gnocchi and it was to die for. The serving size is more than the average serving for gnocchi since the gnocchi were smaller in size.
I had Lobster Tortellini. It was bland, but still delicious.
The only thing that was confusing was all the people that came to our table. We had over four wait staff at our table and it was confusing knowing who the tip would go to.
Run by an authentic Italian family with family recipes. think this is the best Italian restaurant in town.
This is one of my favorite places in DC. Julianne and her children run a fantastic and authentic Italian restaurant. I’ve had pasta, fish, seafood and meat. All have been delicious.
First experience there
Our son lives four block away
Frigid cold night we walked and frodebut all four in our party said well worth bearing the elements for the fabulous Dining experience
A proud family and they should be
It’s now my go to place in d c
Came for New Year’s Eve, very fun with a great wine menu. Food was amazing and delicious. Ambiance was lovely and it was the perfect place to have a dinner before a night if celebrating!
