Al-Amir Lebanese Restaurant Portland Oregon
Al Amir has never disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing, and it was so nice to celebrate my birthday there with friends. Lydia & Moe are gracious hosts.
Every foodie in Portland should take the opportunity to savor the delicious flavors of Lebanese cuisine. Al Amir offers so many wonderful choices. Not only are the dishes delicious but the service is outstanding and professional. Make this restaurant the one you put as number 1 on your TDL!!!
My friend and I eat here regularly and the food is always good - consistent and quite authentic. The kafta and the baba are the best!!!
Great meal and service. We elected to go the family meal and everyone had a taste of the plates. Fun food conversations. The wait staff brought out extras of our favorites. Looking forward to dinning with Al-Amir again.
Everytime we come here, we leave more than satisfied. Food is very good, and reasonably priced; especially being downtown Portland.
The owner seated us himself and waited on our table. We were first customers of the day. He treated us like Family and I keep that close to my heart.
The food has so much flavor and fills me up with no shame. Food is not greasy, or likely to make your tummy hurt.
Service is the best, always. We were checked on multiple times to ensure everything was to our standards and expectations.
Give them a try and you will not regret it. Belly Dancer every Friday night for live entertainment!
Food was terrific; drinks generous from a full bar. Wonderful staff that made great suggestions, made us feel welcome, and had a great sense of humor. Plenty of options for the vegetarian in our group. My second time there (first time on a precious trip) and it will certainly be on my list next time in Portland
Thank you so much for your hospitality, conversation, and delicious dinner! My daughter and I will be back and who knew Lebanese Margaritas and Lemonade. I highly recommend.
GREAT dinner! Five of us were in town leaving the next day on a river cruise and wanted a good Mediterranean restaurant for dinner, and we found it in Al Amir. Excellent food, service and ambiance.
The next time I'm in Portland, I'm definitely going back.
Al-Amir is a perfect place for large group meals. They serve a wonderful selection of food family style; you won't leave hungry. Don't forget to try the lemonade. It's infused with rose water. Delish!
We’ve taken our adult kids out to dinner many times but never have they thanked us over and over! The hospitality was above and beyond. Al-Amir made it a memorable time for all of us. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
The sampler platter is exceptionally good. Turkish coffee and Baklava for desert. YUM! Great meal and amazing service. Manager and server were so friendly, welcoming and
made sure our meal and experience were memorable. I will definitely go back!!!
First time there, for lunch with out of town friends. Food was middle of the road: my lamb, ( though shreded and easy to eat) was fairly without flavor. Not enough veg options for our guests. Service was attentive, but there were only 2 other people dining there....
Amazing food and service from
Lydia! My daughter and I were in for
a pre-show dinner. Lydia was amazing
and made us feel special on our Father
Daughter day! Thank you!
Great meal and excellent vibe
GREAT FOOD. EXPERIENCE WAS FUN AND ENJOYABLE. REMINDED ME OF MY RECENT TRIP TO THE LEBANON AREA.
Our dinner was delicious and the service was incredible. I have dietary restrictions and they were totally accommodating! If you are dairy and gluten free - you can have a great meal and dessert here and not feel deprived. Loved it!!
The food is delicious and authentic.
We had a surprise birthday party there this weekend and it was awesome! Moe, Lydia and staff took great care of us! The food was incredible and the service was outstanding! Thanks, Al Amir!!
We had a very good dinner and came home with lots of leftovers. The owner came by our table several times to check in. I joked to my wife"I wonder when the belly dancing starts?" Ten minutes later guess what! A wonderful young belly dancer moved through the room. Fun evening.
In one word, Delicious!!
Always amazing and so great to be back at the best Lebanese restaurant in the Northwest
Not enough accolades to describe this dining experience. Authentic delicious Lebanese food to enjoy.
Very thing on the menu is wonderfully prepared and the presentation is beautiful. Impeccable and courteous service. The host, Moe, is extremely personable and makes sure that your dining experience is
beyond satisfactory. The lamb shank, lamb and chicken kabobs, and shrimp are perfectly prepared and delicious. Make sure that you try Al Amir and I am sure that you will continue to visit this estblishment.
Food was okay.. service was okay.. ladies were nice.. nothing was nothing above average. It almost felt like they were irritated that we were there. Went there for belly dancers, there wasn’t any. So meh.. there’s a Persian food cart right outside the restaurant with great price and better food ( in my opinion)
Not someplace you want to miss for Lebanese food. The quality, service and atmosphere makes it an experience rather than just a meal.
We have always had a great meal at Al-Amir. They have the absolute BEST falafel in the world. Excellent chicken, lamb, and hummus. You cannot go wrong. Even better? The service. Mo and his lovely Lydia treat you like family. We try to get to Al-Amir at least once every 3 months, since we live outside of Portland.
Cannot beat the sincere and wonderful service of the gracious hosts and staff. The food is fantastic as well.
My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant, however we we were a bit disappointed. The service was great, however the food and ambiance left much to be desired. Ambiance was dull and the food was very bland.
Amazing food paired with the friendliest and best service you’ll find in Portland
My favorite restaurant in town. Been going there for two decades. Highly recommended
The food was good, but not super special. Middle of the road, Middles Eastern food.
this place checks all of the boxes for me. Taste, quality, quantity and excellent service. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do. They provide warm service and hospitality one is not used to receiving in most Portland restaurants. I highly recommend
Love this place. Highly recommended. Best Lebanese in town
I was so happy to rediscover this treasure of a restaurant. We celebrated our daughter's high school graduation last week and were welcomed by the owner and staff like we were family. We were served a selection of excellent foods, were never rushed even though we didn't arrive until late in the evening, and will return again soon.
Definitely skip it. I hadn't eaten here in many years but saw that it had moderately positive reviews, overall fair to good rating, and I love middle eastern and Lebanese food. I think the quality at this place has seriously declined. I hate to give bad reviews, but I'm sorry the food was just not great. Totally unremarkable and sub par. The falafel was dry and tasteless. The Kafta also very dry--think of a barely seasoned lukewarm burger patty and that's pretty much it. Hummuus also bland --basically grocery store quality. Pita was dreadful; I'd be shocked if they made their own, most likely bought in, and again, dry and flavorless. I've had better from Fred Meyer. The service was fine. Food is just totally disappointing. The only dish we agreed was any good was the baba ghanouj, which was aggressively smokey, which I quite like. Would not pay good money for this food again.
Great hosts and amazing food!
Very disappointing. Mediocre middle-eastern food (and we're experienced and knew what to expect). Very loud loud-speakers blasting out the music so it was nearly impossible to have a conversation. Pleasant enough wait staff but a little slow. Not coming back, not recommending.
Great culinary dining experience and extremely reasonable. Always consistent in freshness, taste, and quality of service.
Our favorite restaurant in all of Portland.
Our waitress was fantastic and treated us like family. The food was amazing.
We had a wonderful time. We had a large group of 18 people for a business meeting. Service was incredibly warm and personable. The variety of food was perfect for a large group that included vegetarians and others with dietary restrictions. Food was delicious.
we will be adding this to our regular list - and take visitors to town
