We've been to Al-Amir many times over the years and this year we celebrated my husband's birthday there. The staff was so gracious and took great care of us. The dinner recommendations were spot on and everything was delicious.

There is enough room that it's great for large parties as well. Top notch spot.

Wonderful warm atmosphere with friendly people. Family owned for at least 26 years! They donate 1000 meals per week to kids in need.
The belly dancing is a bit unusual but doesn’t last too long.

Al Amir is a wonderful experience and treat. The authenticity of the Lebanese dishes are incredible.
The appetizers to the main dishes are absolutely scrumptious. We have been going to this restaurant for the last 5 years and never do we tire of the menu. We have seen Steve Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors, of the NBA there on many occasions. He was raised in Lebanon, when his father was President of American University in Lebanon. Obviously Coach Kerr wants to dine on authentic Lebanese food.

Best customer service in town.

This was our second time coming here, the first time we had a family gathering of 14 people - this time it was four of us. Both times the meals, service and overall experience was fantastic. We are of Lebanese descent and can vouch for the authenticity of the food and the friendliness of the staff, who makes you feel like family from the moment you arrive.

Great food. Great service. This is the best Lebanese food in Portland. And I am Lebanese and grew up with this food. Their cabbage rolls, grape leaves and kibbe are amazing. The Kefta is perfect as is their rice. It like Sunday dinner at Grandmas.

The food at Al-Amir is our favorite Lebanese. The owners are amazing people and the service can’t be beat. We enjoy every visit and wish we could go more often.

As always, our gracious host Mo made sure that every detail received proper attention. It is truly a fine dining experience in downtown Portland, without the pretence or outrageous cost.

Al-Amir is always a pleasure to have a meal at! The gentleman who served us brought us samples of several items that make us want to go back in order to have a full meal of some of those foods, like the lentil soup which was really good!! We both had a lamb dish with rice, and we both thought the portions were quite adequate, and I had some left over for lunch later! This is a great place to have Lebanese food!

Al Amir has never disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing, and it was so nice to celebrate my birthday there with friends. Lydia & Moe are gracious hosts.

My friend and I eat here regularly and the food is always good - consistent and quite authentic. The kafta and the baba are the best!!!

Great meal and service. We elected to go the family meal and everyone had a taste of the plates. Fun food conversations. The wait staff brought out extras of our favorites. Looking forward to dinning with Al-Amir again.

Everytime we come here, we leave more than satisfied. Food is very good, and reasonably priced; especially being downtown Portland.

The owner seated us himself and waited on our table. We were first customers of the day. He treated us like Family and I keep that close to my heart.

The food has so much flavor and fills me up with no shame. Food is not greasy, or likely to make your tummy hurt.

Service is the best, always. We were checked on multiple times to ensure everything was to our standards and expectations.

Food was terrific; drinks generous from a full bar. Wonderful staff that made great suggestions, made us feel welcome, and had a great sense of humor. Plenty of options for the vegetarian in our group. My second time there (first time on a precious trip) and it will certainly be on my list next time in Portland

GREAT dinner! Five of us were in town leaving the next day on a river cruise and wanted a good Mediterranean restaurant for dinner, and we found it in Al Amir. Excellent food, service and ambiance.
The next time I'm in Portland, I'm definitely going back.

Al-Amir is a perfect place for large group meals. They serve a wonderful selection of food family style; you won't leave hungry. Don't forget to try the lemonade. It's infused with rose water. Delish!

We’ve taken our adult kids out to dinner many times but never have they thanked us over and over! The hospitality was above and beyond. Al-Amir made it a memorable time for all of us. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

The sampler platter is exceptionally good. Turkish coffee and Baklava for desert. YUM! Great meal and amazing service. Manager and server were so friendly, welcoming and

First time there, for lunch with out of town friends. Food was middle of the road: my lamb, ( though shreded and easy to eat) was fairly without flavor. Not enough veg options for our guests. Service was attentive, but there were only 2 other people dining there....

GREAT FOOD. EXPERIENCE WAS FUN AND ENJOYABLE. REMINDED ME OF MY RECENT TRIP TO THE LEBANON AREA.

Our dinner was delicious and the service was incredible. I have dietary restrictions and they were totally accommodating! If you are dairy and gluten free - you can have a great meal and dessert here and not feel deprived. Loved it!!

We had a very good dinner and came home with lots of leftovers. The owner came by our table several times to check in. I joked to my wife"I wonder when the belly dancing starts?" Ten minutes later guess what! A wonderful young belly dancer moved through the room. Fun evening.
