My wife and i enjoyed our 35th Anniversary with dinner at a.kitchen. The food and the service were outstanding. Thanks to all the staff!!
First time visit, will not be our last. Prompt, courteous service by a knowledgeable server. Food was outstanding from apps thru dessert. My wife an I each had one of two available fish specials...mine a well prepared piece of Halibut, hers a wonderful whole roasted Bronzino. Either one is a winner.
Four friends had Sunday brunch. We had a reservation which is a MUST. Seated promptly. Waiter was very attentive. We had the crabcakes benedict and also pancakes which were all delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I arrived for brunch/breakfast before a show. The server did not allow me time to look at the menus before asking for my drink. She was not clear about the answer to my question about the omlet. So, I order scrambled eggs. It came with breakfast potatoes and 1 side. Toast or a biscuit is considered a side, which I think is ridiculous. So, I had to choose between bread or bacon. I had already ordered a $12 salad. The eggs and potatoes were luke warm and were delivered by someone other than my server. By the time my server came back to check on me, I was almost finished. I would have liked some pepper, but it was too late. My bill, including a pot of tea cane to $34. Definitely not worth the price for what was offered. Very disappointed. Maybe lunch or dinner is better. My server also tried to pick up her receipt after I paid but before I left the table. It made me feel like she was more interested in her tip than the service she provided while I was there.
Our large table of 9 was thoroughly pleased by our dinner at a.kitchen on a busy Saturday night. Our server was Kaitlin, who was cheery, intelligent, and efficient. Her recommendations were spot on. The attentive service meant that we were never waiting as our multiple courses (and personal requests) were delivered. Highly recommended.
Delicious, inventive food. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you might the menu limited. It's fun to sit at the counter and watch the chefs at work. If you're ordering sparkling wine, you may want to rethink that. They dump the wine in the glass instead of gently pouring it, which creates a big head on the drink and reduces the wine's ability to spritz and bubble much longer.
Consistently wonderful!
Seated promptly outside just as I requested. Fantastic food.
Very small breakfast menu and kind of odd choices. Fully loaded alcohol menu for breakfast. No thank you but okay for others. Cappuccinos weren’t close to hot or warm. Moody morning atmosphere. However, it looked lovely and fun when we walked by at night for dinner.
Very nice atmosphere and excellent food and service. The only thing that wasn't our favorite on the menu was the amaro float.but we Especially loved the Swiss chard gnocchi.
Great as always! The lunch special is actually a bargain for such great food at so nice a place. My steak tartare was ample, delicious, and accompanied by a nice little green salad, and my potato and onion lasagna was truly wonderful. My wife's gem salad definitely was :) She always enjoys their burger too, and today's was no exception. The wine list held its usual (and wonderful) surprises - we had a bottle of timorasso, a big wine from a rare white Piedmont varietal that we've not found in any area restaurant before. Great food, great service, a wonderful little room with a perfect warm breeze through the open window-doors. May life always be this good!
The wine continues to disappoint. We ordered the Gamay which was a cheap wine for a high price . And the selection was poor. The Food was good but we would not return without better wine at a reasonable price.
The pastries were delicious but they come from High Street.
Always a solid brunch choice. Consistently excellent food. We have found the service better when seated rather than sitting at the counter.
This was our first visit to a.kitchen for brunch and we were not disappointed. We had standard brunch drinks - Bellini and Bloody Mary - which were fine, but the food was definitely the star of this meal. The pastry basket could possibly be the best deal in the city - three phenomenal pastries for less than $5! These are huge pastries - definitely meant for sharing! We both had the crab cake Benedict, which was divine as well. We will definitely add this to our regular brunch rotation!
Wonderful experience for my husband’s birthday. Small plates were good, but the burger was amazing. My husband loved the whole evening. Thank you.
Service was great and food was very well prepared.
Great presentation
We went for Easter brunch and it was a great spot! The food was delicious and the restaurant itself was lovely with a great atmosphere. All of the staff were nice and helpful.
Excellent late afternoonish breakfast. Eggs over easy were fantastic as were the home fries. Couldn’t ask for better, perfect portion. Tyler did a great job.
We ate at AK Kitchen about a year ago and the food was terrific. This time, it ranks as one of the worst meals I’ve had in Philly. The cauliflower salad was too salty, the lasagna was cold and tasted like scalloped potatoes. The wine pours were short...not a good night.
Our meal was great, service was friendly and knowledgable and a.kitchen is a wonderful, sophisticated yet unpretentious, restaurant. The new chef is clearly talented.
Brunch! Perfect. Best home fries I ever had. Pancakes were killer! Friends said eggs were amazing. Worth every penny.
The Chefs Tasting Menu is the way to go if you are thinking of a three course dinner. The Two of Us got 5 first course options which was more than enough food (the Variety was excellent from a citrus salad to broiled scallops), the main course of our choice and then desert (the cream with honeycomb (not sure of the name) was a dream. We had an excellent meal for the Birthday Girl with attentive lowkey service.
Serving and host staff so helpful for our high maintenance crew (6mo old in tow!)
As always the food and service were excellent! I recommend the chocolate croissant!
We sat at the chef's counter. Service was attentive without being pushy. Everything we ordered was excellent, while the brussels sprouts and steak were stand-outs for me. My fiance and I will be returning there for dinner soon.
Went for Sunday brunch. Had great service. Would totally go back again.
Superb service and foof
A.kitchen was a.mazing. The menu ha.d many interesting choices including a Philly specia.l that was not quite a.s good a.s Burton to Foles but still pretty good. The roa.sted Brussels sprouts ea.sily were the best ever. They a.ccomodated my specia.l request without a.ny problem.
Friendly service does not make up for mediocre food and scanty portions. Winter citrus salad and gnocchi “small plates “were really small. Burger cooked to death. Very noisy!
Seasonal, creative choices in a cozy, but bordering on too loud atmosphere. Our round table of four had to speak up in order to hear each other across the table in the din of some boisterous nearby tables. Food was served European style: when a dish is ready, it is served, which allows one to taste each item as it is intended to be served. Service was knowledgeable and prompt, though there was a small window where water glasses were not refilled as a number of tables simultaneously needed clearing or a check and the lean number of waitstaff was briefly overwhelmed.
Some of our group was a bit dismayed at the number of dishes with fennel as a supporting or main ingredient, but that comes with the choices of seasonal produce available in late winter. I'd come back to see what this kitchen would create with at the peak of summer produce availability.
We were there for our adult daughter's birthday. Both the hostess and waitress made the meal extra special by bringing over some champagne and a special croissant. It was a nice surprise and really showed their consideration and were incredibly pleasant the whole time. The entire staff made us very comfortable.
Amazing wait staff, and the food was superb. The prix fixe menu is fantastic.
Incredible diner at a.kitchen. All 4 of us ordered the prix fixe menu - lots of small plates brought to table followed by each diner's choice of entrée. The duck was AMAZING! We also all loved the beets as a starter. Delicious, creative, good portion sizes. Will be back! Our server was attentive, the service was impeccable.
This place just gets better and better. Creative menu. Whole branzino grilled to perfection.
Absolutely delicious.
Absolute delightful afternoon with terrific service, delish cocktails and relaxing ambiance. Great for people watching too!
Great food but noisy and COLD, open doors and it was February!
I think right now this may be the best restaurant in Philadelphia. Every course was outstanding for both my wife and me, and it is a fun lively place to go.
Great brunch! Cozy environment and scrumptious food!
