Bartender Paul is the GOAT (Greatest of all time)
The breakfast is so good you want to have it for lunch. Excellent chef, Sam was a great guide for the experience.
Absolutely fabulous. Who would think that a kale salad could be so good?? And the grilled octopus could surely match a top dish from Galicia !!
As always, exceptionally good!
Went to their first-ever Thanksgiving dinner! It was very nice, and I'd definitely go again. Mashed, or in this case, pureed, potatoes are something of a litmus test for a busy night, and the potatoes were delicious. Spouse ate a delicious short rib; friend and I had the turkey. Yum! Would have liked some dark meat, though, and the gravy could have been hotter. The dining room is on the small side, but we didn't feel crowded. Overall, very nice, and we'd definitely go back.
We went for the Thanksgiving pre-five. The food was delicious and service was great.
Food is outstanding; service is knowledgable and friendly (great bartender), and the warm bright decor is comfortable and welcoming. Stumbled across this place one evening in the summer and will definitely keep coming back. I just order off the seasonal small plates and they are absolutely delicious.
everything is always excellent at a.kitchen.
can't be beat.
Food was delicious but dining experience was marred by high noise level and inexperienced server.
A.kitchen is always wonderful. The staff is professional and the food is delicious.
I wish whomever their designer was, would come do my home. It's just so lovely and peaceful, and the lighting is so nice. The food and staff is great to. Our second time there, and I really do love it.
Food was yummy and portions were large. Husband had the eggs Benedict and I had the rosemary biscuits. My dish was very filling and rich but had incredible flavor. If you don’t like rosemary, don’t order because that is what the biscuits were made from. Seating is too tight and noise level is a bit annoying at times but nothing bad enough to not go back. Overall, great experience!
Terrible food - won’t come back! 4 times a disappointment!
One of my favorite places to eat when we do a day trip to Philly. Everything about it is perfect...fun and professional servers....i.e., they don't ask more than once if you're enjoying the meal, and they don't hurry the next course - food is outstanding...unique twists on simple ingredients...smart, cool, chic interior. I love A.Kitchen:)
The food was mediocre at best. The octopus was over cooked. The disappointment is that the best thing on the menu was a small plate of dumplings. The salmon was pink leaning on raw and when we asked the server to check if it was okay to eat, the chef said it was the temperature they cook it at. Needless to say we ate Around it and left the rest to be tossed. Overall, not going back.
A little difficult to find, but once we got there the hostess was super friendly and status right away. Food was excellent and the service was on par. Noise level was a little loud as there is a bar there as well. Would definitely recommend to people who are not hard of hearing.
We went to a.kitchen based on the menu we could see online and the prix fixe option. Starting with drinks at a.bar, this was an AMAZING experience! Cocktails were creative and delicious and dinner was, well, spectacular. We opted for the prix fixe and added raw oysters. The sommelier, Frank, was available and accessible for paring recommendations. Sam, our waitress, was knowledgeable and helpful. So, the food was nothing short of spectacular! The steak tartare was a treat, the branzino was amazing, and 2 desserts-enough said. Sam suggested Amaro and the 3 we had were delicious. I HIGHLY recommend going to a.kitchen and plan on being there for a few hours because they know how to do dinner right!
I loved a.kitchen. The food was unique and delicious. The service was fast
We hadn't been to a.kitchen for several weeks and missed it, so we went into town for lunch - and it was as fine as ever. We always start a meal there with an order of Panisses, which are consistently amazing. With delicate, delicious chickpea batter that's lightly skinned from frying, a bed of chickpea purée with whole chickpeas, and assorted spices, these are perfect appetizers with a glass of wine. Next, we each had a crudo (scallop, if I remember correctly) that was perfectly delicate yet firm and served in a shell with a light dressing. My wife surprised me by ordering the sausage, which is one of my favorites but is something she's never ordered before in all our years together - and she loved it! I had the daily fish special, which was a meaty grilled trout with crisped skin, just the way I like it. We had our usual great conversations with staff and patrons alike, as both groups there are wonderful. And as the wine level drifted to the bottom of our glasses, we promised not to let so much time go by before we return again.
Love A Kitchen. A little less salt on the salad would have made the meal ideal. Thx for a delicious meal
This was our second dinner at the venue having eaten here earlier this year. Fresh ingredients, nicely varied menu and well thought out beverage pairings always work for my palate. I like the fact that they don't try to have a gazillion taste sensations in each dish and that the portions are not gargantuan. There is a nice buzz in the room and I do like their space. Recommended!
Terrific food and excellent service, as usual. Seasonal menu changes are always fantastic.
Food and server were both excellent, but the kitchen seemed to having an off night. There were long waits both between first and second courses and before dessert arrived. Still, this was our first time at a.kitchen in a couple of years, and our first with Chef Eli Collins. We will definitely be back soon.
I met a colleague for a business lunch during the week. He had the scallop special and I had the chicken with lemon and garlic. My colleague must have enjoyed his lunch because there was literally nothing left on his plate when our very knowledgeable and friendly server came to remove it. My plate would have been equally as empty had I not felt overfilled. The chicken was tender and delicious, served with a wild rice that was spiced but not over powering. We decided to share a dessert of olive oil cake with lemon creme with an fig on the side. I can't adequately described the deliciousness. We woofed it down!
Terrific food; excellent recommendations on wine to pair with it; great service.
Food is good but entree portions are very small. I like the atmosphere.
We went to a.Kitchen for brunch after a night in the city. This was our third or fourth time here, and we were very pleased with our experience. We sat outside on a nice fall morning. The food was excellent, our server was friendly, and the price was fair for brunch in the city. A highlight is definitely their hash browns - they are tremendous! We would be happy to get back sometime soon.
Love the meal like always
Stopped in for brunch on a rainy Sunday and was seated immediately. It was cold and windy so I decided to have the burger and a glass of wine. The burger was really good but after the first bite the bun crumbled. It was a deep disappointment. For $18 it should be near perfect. I will return but choose differently.
The food is excellent, but unfortunately the noise level is so high that we couldn't talk to our guests and didnt enjoyed the experience at all. We were glad to leave the restaurant to have a conversation. This was a disapoimtent as this was a very important family dinner for all of us.
Our dinner was good with the food nicely prepared and flavorful. But while the menu sounded intriguing there was nothing we tasted that was outstanding. And for we three diners there was a killer for ever returning- the noise was excruciating. Open table may call high noise “ energetic” but we called this painful. Not only did it prevent any real conversation, we were screaming just for basic communication. This was painfully noisy. We might try it again if not for the noise - but we cannot recommend this experience to friends. .
We sat outside for brunch and had the most wonderful meal! The food was delicious (the breakfast potatoes were OUTRAGEOUS) and the service was delightful!
Great food selection, excellent service and wonderful ambiance! Definitely my favorite breakfast/brunch place!
Fantastic meal, ambience, service and overall experience. Celebrating our wedding anniversary... was the perfect night.
The food was delicious. My wife and i were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the restaurant 9and its staff) did not disappoint. We were very pleased and plan to return to Philadelphia just for a kitchen! We look forward to returning (and to the ricotta dumplings and oyster mushrooms). Thanks for a wonderful time and an amazing meal!!!!
There were 5 people in our party for a Saturday evening,9:15 seating. We all came away wondering how this place achieves the higher ratings. It is overrated. Period. Food was very mediocre and on the skimpy side. My duck was over cooked yet barely warm. In fact, another person at the table had French fries that after 20 minutes were warmer than my duck was coming right out of the kitchen. Service was not at all attentive, and the young lady seemed quite indifferent so hopefully she was able to make the correlation to the size of her tip. I love to tangibly recognize sharp service so was disappointed to not have the chance to do so this evening.
This was one we were looking forward to but it was a very big, overpriced disappointment. Perhaps we’ll visit the bar but will not be back to the restaurant.
Great service, delicious food.
Went during restaurant week only because friend could only get that day off of work but it was just as good as a non restaurant week. Both had salads to start and both were very good, friend had the burger and let me taste it, now I understand why it make the 'best' list. It was really good. I had the mussels, very different presentation than I expected but it was excellent. Can't wait to get back here again.
A+++! From the food to the ambience to the service to the vast wine collection this kitchen was fit for queens! The staff was lovely and made great recommendations and the whole place was so warm from the beautiful soft lighting and delicate seating. Great to people watch outside too! The food was decadent with unique flavors. The restaurant week portions were perfect! And the meal as a whole was surprisingly healthy with no lacking for taste, texture, or presentation. Fan favorites were the graffiti eggplant, the oyster mushrooms, the smoked duck, and the grilled salmon. Not to mention the panna cotta and olive oil cake were an excellent finishing touch. All plates were scraped clean! Looking forward to taste testing their seasonal menu all over again soon!
