We had a wonderful meal on Saturday night. We did the prix fixe menu and added the aged rib-eye for an upcharge and did the wine pairing. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about win and she selected the perfect starters and wine pairings. We were thrilled. Highly recommend!
Very good food but very small portions
Music was too loud for lunch
Everything went well. Food was delicious. Best thing was it wasn’t crowded, as it was the last time I was there. Much less noisy!
The hostess was beyond gracious. The Sam-twins were fantastic. The chef continues his extraordinary work!
Guess I’ll be back.
One of our favorite spots. Lost count of how many times we’ve been... This past Sunday the Irish breakfast was delicious. Thanks & regards
Trendy new American restaurant, a little upscale but not overly fancy. Higher price point, but food and drink quality matches the price. Great apps and entrees. We sat at the counter right in front of the chefs and liked our seating. It gets busy and is a smaller restaurant, so good idea to get a reservation.
Overall very good but there are better restaurants in Philadelphia. Service was great. Food was very good but a bit salty. And very expensive - expected more at this price point.
Food is excellent. Service was great. We loved the vibe.
Parking is close
Server wasn’t particularly attentive about wine, nor was he even minimally knowledgeable, sending over the sommelier just to recommend a by-the-glass wine with steak. That’s pretty basic, and any server should be prepared for that. As for attentiveness, I’d told him I’d want to have a second glass with the entree and switch to a different choice. Not only did he clearly not element this, my wine glass was empty for an unacceptable amount of time before we were finally able to flag him down. At this price point, my expectations are far higher.
Fantastic food and service
Excellent service in an intimate environment. Choices are limited at times, like no sauvignon blanc wine, but overall the food was very, very good and so was the experience.
Loved loved loved being able to sit at the chefs table and talk to them while they were cooking! So friendly . Good was so so good we all had the prefix and we were able to try so many of the small plates . Our server was so sweet and attentive! Put this place in your list!
Red lentil curry was AMAZING!
One of the best breakfast places you’ll ever visit. Excellent service and the chef is to be commended.
I came here almost every Saturday last falls for lunch. My friend and I shared lunch deal (we don’t eat that much) and many glasses of special wine deal. We went enough that the staff recognized us. Why not service was great. We haven’t stopped by for about two months and now it’s not the same. We can’t share the lunch deal. Only one glass of wine is on special deal. I went on Monday this time and the staffs are different. May be they change the rules. I don’t know. I’m disappointed that I can’t do the deal any more. After all we spent around $100 and tip 22% every time. We might come here less now. It’s a shame. We love this place so much.
This was our second time at a.Kitchen. We were definitely less impressed than at our first visit, though it may be that we just picked a terrible time to go. We had a late breakfast, and it seems we got caught in the midst of the change from breakfast to lunch. No one else was eating there, and yet we were not particularly well attended to. The food was good, but it was definitely a bit of a strange experience. If we come back again, we will definitely pick a different time.
As with their other places, a.kitchen gets everything right: great food, great service and lovely atmosphere
I enjoyed having brunch here. It s a small place but it didn’t feel crowded.
1 huge plus: they have oat and almond milk as options with coffee
1 downside: they don’t have any nonpork substitutes for bacon or sausage.
I would eat here again if only for the coffee and croissants.
We had the boneless ribeye and it was AMAZING! Sitting at the chef's counter was a treat as everyone behind the counter was friendly, engaging and actually complimented us on our food choices. A great time as usual.
I was disappointed in the entree, hanger steak. It was very chewy. I asked about this ahead of time and was assured it would not be if I ordered it a certain way which I did. There was a wine pairing with the chef's tasting menu but when I asked where was the wine for one of the courses was told the one glass was for both courses. I've never heard of this before. There were only 6 entrees.
The food was excellent as was the service. The only issue we had was that the courses came too quickly. We ordered a drink and they immediately brought our appetizers. Our main meals came before our wine. We will come back again but for a later time slot..
The space is lovely and design modern yet inviting; the light beautiful; The service is excellent. The food was very good, but my guest's poached eggs were cold.
Absolutely love this restaurant! The tasting menu is a great value and allows you to try several different dishes. You can’t go wrong!
Food was really good. I will definitely be visiting again!
Perfect service and beautiful food!
Went for restaurant week and got many items to share among the 3 of us. The food was outstanding and the service was great.
Portion of food way to small for the price!
It was restaurant week. As usual? The food was delicious. BUT there was no way to order ala carte. It was two courses for $20 or bust, no flexibility. For us, that was too much food.
Went for the restaurant week menu. Loved it because they let you choose from the regular menu. Very accommodating to food allergies. Everything was perfect. Definitely will go back.
Our first time eating at A.kitchen. We loved it! We ordered quite a few things, and everything was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back to be wowed!!
We loved everything and can’t wait to come back!
The restaurant did not serve a lot of dishes from the Restaurant Week menu displayed online, which was really disappointing. Bait and switch. At least the food was pretty good, and the wait staff was very attentive.
Great setting (the counter seats are comfortable while giving you the pleasure of watching the kitchen in action), and the food was wonderful: imaginative and daring in its conceptualization, and well executed at that. One of very few good restaurants to eat in Philly, where the food can surprise you.
Absolutely great food!
Just a terrific dinner and experience. Best gnocchi ever. Best desserts, too. Portions were just the right size. Friendly and attentive staff.
Service was lovely. The lamb sausage
A fabulous experience!! The food is outstanding and the service team goes way beyond expectations. Frank leads a very busy and attentive staff, who are always open to special requests.
Tonight we had amazing mussels among 4 creative and delicious starters, perfectly cooked tri-tip and brook trout.
It may be the best restaurant week value in The Center City District.
