The food and wine were delicious! The main disappointment was an hour into our meal, the waitress said "just wanted to remind you that we have another party coming at 7pm for this table." And no one had told us that that was going to happen! So we had to rush through the bottle of wine that we had bought to split, and were out on the sidewalk before we knew it.

Would highly recommend this restaurant. Such a great little neighbourhood find. Wonderful sushi at a reasonable price, excellent service and lovely ambiance. I will certainly be back next time I'm in SF.

Went out for my birthday with my girlfriend. The sashimi was excellent, rolls were spectacular, and selection was awesome.

Our go-to sushi walking distance from my house. Fresh wasabi (extra and worth it), great selection of fish from Tokyo (local Uni good enough for us, the Hokkaido not worth the price), lovely staff and regulars.

This is our go-to sushi restaurant - there are others closer to our house but AKIRA is a cut above. Love the specials, the fresh wasabi, the excellent staff. Engawa was something we hadn’t seen before - halibut fin. Yummy.
