Birthday - amazing service, amazing food. Wonderful atmosphere. Overall a great memorable experience
Great ambience and excellent food. The starters were fantastic. We had a taste of many salads and hot share. The sea weed salad was exceptional. A must try! The sushi, rolls and sashimi were great but note that they are small portions. My ribeye was incredible and everyone else thought their main was excellent.
It was the most wonderful meal with a great server, would definitely return.
Great experience , we all enjoyed the food , the service and the decor / atmosphere
Very nice restaurant !!
Decor and ambience is pleasing.
Brother from Another Mother & Show Me the Roll were delicious and perfect for sharing. The Jidoori Chicken is to die for.
Service was nothing special, below from what I expected. Our server seemed to be under the influence and was not very friendly. Food runners were the most pleasant and friendly.
Found an insect crawling on one of our rolls, issue was fixed by bringing out a fresh one.
Will continue to come back for the beautiful food.
Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time, thanks for making her birthday so special
Service was top notch!
Food was great my favourite was there fried rice dishes.
The only not so good thing was how long it took to receive some of our food... we ordered 2 of their signature rolls and it took not even exaggerating 1/2 an hr to receive each one.. which is in total 1 hr!
I have recently moved to Toronto and I’m super glad I found this place. As an asian and as a fine dining lover, I really enjoyed the experience of such exquisite food. My favs were tuna & mushroom pizza and Wagyu taco 😍
Very very good!
Absolutely excellent experience! Amazing food and service! Great atmosphere! Strongly recommend this restaurant!!!
Awesome way to celebrate a birthday
Had a wonderful time. The food was excellent. So delicious and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back again.
Such great food in terms of taste and texture. Amazing service too. Great ambience and decoration.
It was a very awesome experience to enjoy in Akira Back!!!
By far my favorite restaurant in Toronto!
Unique tasting experience and amazing ambiance.
The food and service are outstanding! Everything on the menu is delicious!
Our server Mackenzie was amazing the food was flavorful and tasty the pearl morisette Chardonnay was liquid gold loved it we will be back.
Some dishes were amazing (like the wagyu fried rice) but others didn’t taste like anything special. We attended as a party of seven and whenever we raised our hands for assistance, some waiters blatantly ignored us even though they didn’t seem like they were in a rush or were just standing around. It took forever to flag down waiters every time we wanted to order or ask questions. In the middle of eating dessert, a waiter handed us a single bill. It took us a while to calculate how much we had to pay and ensure that our calculations were correct. The ambience was nice but the service was subpar. As we went to a high-end restaurant, we did not expect to be treated like how we were treated. We went here to celebrate a birthday but because of the poor service, dinner was not a highlight of our day.
Excellent service. Extremely helpful and professional waiter
Fantastic Food and Service. Let waitress chose plates for us. Heavenly.
Everything was great and perfect !!
We will be back again!!
Great ambiance, decent food. Service could be a lot friendlier and less stifling. I appreciate the constant tending to my glass of water, but perhaps, you could be a little more amicable. A pleasant expression and attitude goes a long way in service - and no, my server was not a woman. You don't need to grin ear-to-ear to come off pleasant, but a smile would be nice. Sheesh.
Went there with my wife to celebrate a special occasion and had an amazing time. The food was really good - sea food was fresh and well prepared. The server was friendly and suggested great things.
Evan our server was incredible, truly amazing going above and beyond. The food was excellent although some of the sauces were overpowering for the delicacy of the seafood and should be on the side. Ambience was perfect.
Terrible experience from our waiter, he made us feel like we did not belong. We dressed up and went out for a birthday. Worst experience for my friends and I would not be coming back and it’s a shame because the food was so delicious. Our waiter had his nose up
I’m the air and we immediately felt it when we started asking questions about the menu, and noticed it a few time through out the night.
Good food, atmosphere and service. The tacos are very tasty.
My first gastronomic experience of 2020. Would highly recommend to try the chefs tasting menu. A great experience.
While the restaurant is beautiful, it was quite noisy, and the food just didn’t live up to our expectations. We ordered the omakase (tasting menu) which was $90 a person. The food was pretty good, but the portions are comically small and ridiculously overpriced. I’m no newbie to “high end dining” prices and portions, but it really just felt like a bit of a joke once we got to the end and realized how much we had paid for so little food. When the food takes up 10% of a giant plate and takes two bites to eat, it better be amazing, which it wasn’t. Maybe this is a good spot if you’re looking to impress someone and don’t mind blowing a ton of money on a meal that you’ll still be hungry after. Overall I wouldn’t go back or recommend it to my friends, as you can easily get more and better food for less somewhere else.
This was my second time dining here and it was disappointing in comparison to the first experience. Maybe it would have been best to stick to the tasting menu again because the food wasn’t up to the same standard I had expected from my first visit. It gave me the feeling that the tasting menu really does put the best of the best out there. I had hoped the rest of the menu would be similar.
Favorite dish of the night was the grilled Alaskan king crab as well as the ceviche.
Akira Back is my new favourite spot in Toronto. Everything was great.
Everything about the evening was perfect!
RIDICULOUSLY BAD SERVICE. Took 20+ minutes to bring water for the full table. Kept staring at different servers so that maybe someone else can help us order drinks/food but no one interested and our server seemed like she had forgotten we were sitting there. No explanation/excitement shown about specials/menu/the restaurant. Asked for dessert menu and were told the kitchen’s closed. Paid $400+ For four people for this experience - definitely not recommending to a friend or anyone. Food was okay, more fusion than pure sushi. Some items were good, others were average or below average.
It’s even better than when it first opened. Def going back regularly so good at all levels. Sexy presentations!
Birthday meal, service was prompt and courteous. Food was excellent prepared. All selections felt confident it was going to taste good, and each dish was well explained
Our family came for an early 5pm seating and were able to take in the beautiful decor and enjoy the quietness before it filled up with patrons. We ordered and all shared a variety of hot and cold shares, mains, rolls and desserts. Each unique dish was presented and described in detail by the server, superbly plated and absolutely delicious. The service was great and I did not feel rushed at all. In total we were there for almost 2 hours. On the pricey side, but well worth it!
For a crowded and busy NYE, the team did a nice job of making our celebration one to remember. The team recovered nicely after we had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time for a table. The set course meal was an excellent variety of flavours and the salmon sashimi dish with the wasabi sauce was amazing.
Food was amazing. We went for new
The salmon belly melts in your mouth like butter the setting is beautiful and the staff are friendly
