   Want a night out with some amazing sushi, this is not the place to go. Delicacies does not mean delicious, and definitely does not mean worth it. $500 to taste things you wouldn’t want to taste is not a good sushi experience. We were looking forward to this night out together, and were willing to pay their steep price tag for a night to remember. Regrets all around, and a night to forget. Don’t waste your time, or your money.

    I've been a few times to their old location on Bush and this was the first time at their new location. It was always beyond excellent and this was beyond that. It's omakase only and it's not cheap ($250pp). This was a very special date - I was taking a special lady from Denver out for dinner. And the first date in SF with her or anyone in 27 years (I'm a widower). The experience delivered across the board. Very serene. Lots of polished wood making a 4 sided counter area with the sushi making mostly happening inside the quad. We were not rushed at all. I'd describe the food but I would fail. It's a mix of starters chefs creations followed by more familiar nigiri. Although I'd hesitate to say familiar. The fish is very unique. Aged to perfection and pristine. I will go again but this is not an everyday experience. A Glass of champagne, a cocktail, some sake and the food + tip was $800+. Worth every penny. And for the bonus, my date absolutely loved the experience and is now my lady friend.

    Absolutely amazing! Every detail is well thought out; from the interior design, music, high standard of service from the wait staff, not to mention the exquisite food, both delicious and aesthetically stunning. Truly inspiring.

    The food was just okay, especially for the price. Each piece of sushi did not have a distinct flavor, rather they all tasted like generic fish on rice. I also accidentally ingested a paint chip, due to some breakage of the bowl in was served on. The dessert was a basic and small scoop of black sesame ice cream. It seemed like they thought putting gold flakes on everything made it fancy, but where was the flavor?! Not going back.

    Superb Japanese cuisine. The one whole bottle of white wine on the menu was not available. For a high-end establishment collecting $800 for 2 at the end of the evening this was tantamount to negligence with NO compensation offered - such as two half bottles for the same price. Very ungracious and left a bad impression.

    This is a fixed price omekase tasting menu. There were 4 warm starter and 7 pieces of sushi and a dessert offering. Sushi was also offered alacarte after the tasting. The service was attentive. And every dish amazing. Our table was at the sushi bar so great view of the sushi prep

    I was an hour late to my reservation because parking was very hard to find. Despite the 15 minute grace period, I was very lucky that the restaurant was so accommodating and sat me and my guest once we arrived. The service was great and the food was delicious! We had the dinner menu which was very fulfilling.

    Awesome new location with food as good as or better than in old location. More upscale modern feel with more space- good call to move. Had omakase lunch and ordered few extra nigiri pieces at end. It was excellent and service is always great!!! Lunch was $150 omakase per person (dinner is $250) with about $50 more for adding 4-5 more pieces of sushi, but well worth it if you don't mind the price. One of the best sushi places we have eaten in the US. Will keep coming back regularly. Parked on street so hit or miss and not sure how safe area is at night as not familiar with east SF district; consider Uber as they also have a great sake menu.

    Have eaten twice at the new location now. Once at a table and once at the chefs counter. Both times the food was excellent. While staff are earnest and trying hard,in the context of price and value for money it doesn’t quite hit the mark. The ambience is compromised by the lighting being too bright and the 80s music sound track seems so discordant with the overall ambience as to be distracting. They are still in their “soft open” phase and I suspect things will get better with time. So while it’s a welcome and excellent addition to the neighborhood ( and I will surely dine again) there remains room for improvement if they want to truly be successful at this price point.

    Might have been the most food I've ever got with omakase, and 90% of is was super good and everything was very fresh. The music that they were playing, rock and alternative, was a bit off for the ambiance of the rest of the restaurant. The service was good and attentive, but felt that there was some sort of "umph," lacking compared to other places in this price point I've eaten at.

    It was their 4th day open and we couldn't tell at all. We live in the neighborhood and are so happy Akikos is now here in the area. Allen was our server and he was fantastic!

    The whole experience was outstanding! Had the opportunity to sit at the bar, and see everything that was going on! Each dish of the omakase was presented beautifully, and tasted just as they said it was! I recommend 10/10, will definitely make another trip here!
