I kind of hate leaving a 4 star review. Akasha is one of our favorites. We have breakfast there all the time. But it seems like they're still struggling to recover from covid-related staffing issues. Our server was awesome...when he had time to hit our table.
Still love Akasha, still recommend it. They just need a little more time to recover, I think.
1st brunch since moving to LA
We were celebrating a friend’s new job. Great venue, great food and outstanding service.
The food was very good, as were the cocktails! Great gluten free options. The atmosphere was great both inside and outside! Gabe, our waiter was excellent.
Delicious...the Scottish Salmon and Chicken Parm were wonderful (and you can't go wrong with an order of sweet potato fries!) Service was flawless and friendly. Can't wait to return....!
Everything we ate was delicious. Menu had so many things that sounded good, it took us a long time to decide on our entrees, until we decided we’ll just have to go back to try the other items. Very reasonably priced, for the quality of food
Great food and wonderful environment and vibe! Super wine program as well with many unique choices. I’ll be back!
I took my friend to Akasha for her birthday. The meal was excellent, but the birthday dessert was extremely disappointing. We ordered chocolate cake. However, there was no more cake. The waiter brought use a banana loaf that would have been appropriate for breakfast, but not dessert.
I don’t recall the price of the banana bread, but I recall thinking that I paid to much for a breakfast muffin.
Perfect place for a business meeting. Our waiter did not get offended after it took us 45 minutes to get through our meeting before we ordered.
The food came out before cocktails, the food was just ok, the gluten waffles were not good. The Chocolate Babka was dry, with little flavor like it had been left out all night. The fried egg sandwich was blah. Won’t go back, and definitely didn’t live up to their hype.
Great ambiance with lighting.
The space is large so I appreciated the music being turned down during the course of the evening.
Fabulous ambiance! Waited 20 minutes despite reservation. Burger was delicious, seafood curry ok and spaghetti portion small. There’s road construction so hard to find parking.
I ordered the Cod Special and it was pretty horrible. The fish was sort of fishy tasting which I've never experienced with Cod. The plating was horrible. It was cold as well. The veggie with it which were mustard greens and something else were spare and cold and again thrown onto the plate. The Outdoor seating in the alley of the restaurant was ok-ish. There was a large party in the corner of the space that was so loud we couldn't hear each other. I've been to Akasha maybe 30 times over the years and this was the first time I was really UNHAPPY with the food.
Great experience, waiter was extremely helpful
Good food, good service but loud ambience. The prices are on the high side considering the paucity of food on the plate.
The meal was wonderful as usual and the ambiance is superb. However, there was a blackout midway in our meal which spoiled the rest of the night.
Akasha is always great--never disappoints! The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is nice, the service is warm and friendly. Everyone in our group loved the experience and raved about the food.
It's time to update the menu.
We are regular diners, and like AKASHA.
Service was wonderful and the food was amazing in taste and presentation. A great wine and cocktail list. The mole was to die for!
Food was Really disappointing and straight out of a can. Truth
Great meal...friends were Vegan and had lots of choices....we had the seafood curry that is always Great...the vegan chocolate desert was amazing.
Excellent food selections, never disappoints! It’s a gem restaurant not to be missed !
Love this restaurant so much!! All the food is fantastic and the people are wonderful.
Our guests coincidentally had lunch there the day before, and were so excited when they realized we were taking them to the same restaurant the next day for dinner!
The first 3 cocktails we ordered from THEIR menu- they were out of. The waitress NEVER came back to take our food order. Finally a different person came to take our food order and we were told when we started ordering, that we had old menu's as what we were ordering THEY WERE OUT OF, so our menu's were replaced. Manager came over to apologize and said he would treat us to a hors d'oeuvre. When we finally placed our order it took over 30 minutes to get our food. We were charged for the hors d'oeuvre (the humus) that the manager said he would treat us to for all the inconveniences. All and all the place was just not run very well and they couldn't blame it on being busy as we were there for an early dinner....
This meal was awful. The Turkey sausage was cold. My tuna melt was cold and the salad looked like it wasn’t fresh. Our server was nice but hard to engage with. This restaurant has slipped considerably. I thought about asking for our money back.
This was a nice outdoor dining spot in Culver City. Drinks were good. Service was terrific and the food was very good. Enjoyed it very much.
Tandoori Chicken wings are excellent, but a lot smaller than the ones on previous visits. No cake on dessert menu
This is our favourite restaurant and we decided to have our wedding anniversary dinner. Menu was the same but food was not as good as we are use to in this place. Burrata was terrible where the rest of food was disappointing. Our waiters was great but overall something was missing. This place was always full and had great energy but Friday night was just not as exciting as it used to be.
We are Culver City residents for many years and we are very sad to see that our favorite place is not what is used to be
It was a Sunday evening and we wanted to bring back some food for our elderly parents. So we tried ordering several dishes to-go and the waitstaff had to come to us on 3 separate occasions to report they were out of items. The items were Beets, Chicken, Olives, and Short Ribs. Our waitress said, “I know, i’m sorry but it’s Sunday”. The restaurant should do a better job of ordering food from vendors. Especially if you understand on which days you run low on food. We will go back solely because when you do have these items, they’re delicious. Just an annoying experience that we hope doesn’t repeat.
Loved our dinner. We were 4--ate on the patio. The heater worked well. The food delicious. We started with a pizza for all of us. Yum. Then two of us had the salmon which was prepared with care and all the right ingredients. Reminds us why it is fun to eat at a restaurant! My husband had the burger and loved it--or other friend had the chicken and everyone enjoyed their meal.
On arrival we were being seated and the host didn’t warn of a large curb. My aunt fell and fractured her elbow. He didn’t help her up. We were then sat in diff location. The man who sat us walked past several times and never spoke again. The manager came over and said it’s not the first time w that large curb. I got ice and rag from the bar tender myself for the knot on her head. Another patron noted that this was second fall she alone has seen. The manager came over and said he was writing up a report. Not true, Bc they Nvr took her name. It was as if they were afraid to hv a law suit more than her well being. One hour later we only had eaten starters. They wouldn’t even bring us silverware w out us asking for it. We finally asked for bill for what we had gotten thus far. The waitress came over after we hadn’t seen her anymore since ordering. To say the manager said he would comp the meal. We didn’t want it. We weren’t there for free food. Just general respect for patronizing their restaurant. We left and ate at Ugo’s where the service was amazing.
Great food and great service! My gluten free chicken and waffles were delicious!
The onion rings......go there for the onion rings. Wow.
We loved the DineLA choices on the menu. We were a group of four and order all choices except the chicken wings. Everyone was pleased with their choice. The staff was very attentive and brought an extra heater near us because one of our party was cold. Akasha continues to be a great place to eat.
Food was amazing ,high quality and flavorful.
My family had a great Dine LA experience here. The food was outstanding, our sever Gabe was fun and friendly, and they were able to accommodate a last minute change to our reservation on a busy night to add a couple more people. We sat outside, which was great for us because we are being COVID careful, and enjoyed the people watching. Will come back!
I. An always rely on outstanding service + delicious food prepared with care at Akasha. It’s been my go-to restaurant for any reason for over a decade.
Slow service but food was great
First time there and was very pleased with the quality of the food and the attention of the wait service. Wine choices were great. Look forward to returning soon.
