Great food and service. Perfect brunch spot. Now overly crowded. Definitely will come again :)
Nice place and close to work. The food was good and the service was wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable and knew the menu well. I would recommend AKASHA to my co-workers and friends.
Great surprise with the Jazz trio! Food and service were great!
Service was not good. We waited for 15 min before anyone came to take out order.
Didn’t get the wine I ordered at the beginning of the meal until midway through the main course. Food was very mediocre, portions small. Won’t go back.
Met a friend from out of town. Ran into another there!
Great food and fun place. Did not appreciate getting an additional $4.95 charge on the bill for 'kitchen appreciation'. We were all surprised and left a negative feeling at the end as we tip well anyway.
Food was good nothing to write home about, Branzini fish came without any kind of accompaniment and was around $37. No bread offered like most restaurants complement. My biggest complaint is that our server did not mention the “half bottle of any wine” special they had the night we were there as my daughter and I debated which wine to start with. A glass starts at $15 -17 .Would def had ordered a bottle had she mentioned it!
This restaurant is truly a neighborhood gem. Always good food and good service. On Wednesday they have 1/2 off any wine on the menu and they are always updating the menu but still have the excellent old stand by's.
Such a good brunch
Love the cafe side with bakery goodies
Happy hr is a great time too
Excellent food and service.
Great hip spot for lunch or dinner. I love going there and introducing people to it.
I wish I lived in Culver City so I could eat at Akasha more often! Great food, interesting without being weird, and totally delicious. Service was spot-on -- personable and professional. Always a fine evening when I go here, can't recommend it enough.
I was hungry an hour after i ate here. I am not a big person or a big eater. I ordered Shakshouka for brunch. It was not a baked egg dish, as the menu discribed. I got a frying pan full of stewed tomatoes with a tiny fried egg on top, a tiny amount of goat cheese, and some arugula on top of that. Grilled bread on the side, which i wanted to avoid, but ended up eating just to get some food in my stomach. Coffee is marginal, at best.
3rd time here. I keep thinking it should be better than it is, but it never is. Last time, i got 1 unimpressive waffle with a small amount of compote on top. There won’t be a next time for me.
Our server was awesome. Accommodating and attentive. Worked with a smile. Great experience
Lovely evening. The live music was a nice bonus. Service was good.
My only issue is that the restaurant cancelled my reservation about 30 mins before it was to take place and then told my companion that I cancelled it. (He arrived first)
Akasha is a solid. Always great food, handcrafted cocktails, quality ingredients, buzzy atmosphere.
The scallops were wonderful. Great food and wonderful atmosphere.
Kind of funky, yet not, in that the place looks as if it's not kept up. But the food
is tops! New addition to the bill is a charge for "Kitchen" workers, but only told
it's optional if you ask. That's a turnoff! Downtown Culver City, so you know what
that means about parking!
The food was the star of the show. My friends ordered burgers, one with a gluten free "bun," and I ordered the ribs, and we were all VERY happy with the results. For my ribs, the meat fell off the bone and the sauce was sweet and spicy. Indoors was loud with a jazz band, but the outdoor option served us wonderfully. The service was excellent, altho the food was very slow to arrive. That said, it was well worth the wait!!
I've been there several times. The food is good; the only complaint I've had is that it's really noisy. But we ate in the patio this time and it was wonderful.
The food is always good at Akasha. Our reservation could not be fulfilled outside as we requested because "we just had to seat a large party" though our reservations were made 4 days before. We sat inside and the service was initially nonexistent. No one came to take our drink order or take our order. Finally we got up and said something, got a waiter and things were smooth and the service was just great after that. Our waiter was attentive, familiar with the wine list and pleasant.
I've been to Akasha a number of times, and it's always been very good. This time, I put together a group of veteran TV writers to share our experiences with a young, aspiring writer. Our waitress, Desiree, was a gem from start to finish. Each time a new person arrived at the table, she was there in a flash to take their drink orders. She made several great food recommendations, accommodated our special requests (and there were a lot of them), and came around the table often to see if there was anything else we needed, fill our water glasses and take away empty plates. We were there for almost three hours, but she never gave us the sense that we'd outstayed our welcome. She made a memorable gathering even more special.
This was my 3rd time at the Restaurant and I loved it. The ambiance is great (although a little noisy), the food is superb and the waiter was very attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend the Restaurant and can’t wait to go back again. Also, it is located in a hip part of downtown Culver City.
I normally love this place but i booked an opentable rea for 8:45 pm and we arrived at 8:55. We were told kitchen closed at 8:30???? Not sure if opentable goofed or alasha did :(
After sitting for 15 min. Waitress took drink order. One dish some other tables, one bland and unappetizing one ribs all fat. Took 10 min to find anyone to reorder, finally after another 20 min order right. They did not charge for 2 dinners but this restaurant was terrible. Given the choice a PB&J at home would have been better.
The drinks were amazing, the food was awesome and the service was awesome!
Food is always good, and the service was excellent. The disaster came in the form of the bill - a surcharge for "kitchen appreciation." AKASHA - IF YOUR KITCHEN STAFF NEEDS / DESERVES MORE MONEY, THEN PAY THEM A LIVING WAGE. DON'T TACK MISLEADING AND LIKELY ILLEGAL SURCHARGES ON THE BILL. I will NOT be returning until this is corrected, and I urge others to do the same.
Food was outstanding. Beautiful inside and nice outside as well. Pricy but great
Great meal started with terrific cocktails, the namesake being particularly outstanding with its refreshing cucumber. Fried chicken sliders split among the three of us at the table (1 each) was an excellent treat. Menu offered many healthy and decadent options. The macaroni and cheese falling on the latter. The quinoa bowl and plum & arugula salad for the former. Everything was great. Service was pleasant and timely. May have a been a bit more expensive for what we are getting, but with everything being so good, it is hard to complain about it.
The ambiance is very good but noisy inside. Sit outside when it's a nice day. Small dishes were very good and beautiful to look at. My hamburger was overcooked a rock hard so I could not give them a 5 star otherwise everything else was good.
Always a favorite.
A negative experience on almost every level. We came to celebrate our anniversary, and I now regret that I did not check all of the reviews first. Portion sizes are very small, the presentation is subpar, and the flavors are one dimensional. The service was not what one expects when paying this much. The server needed to be reminded about a beverage, and then completely forgot one of the side dishes that we ordered. The hostess lacks experience in how to speak to customers. We will not return.
The food, service and atmosphere were great! Can't wait to come back!
My first visit to Akasha and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is very attractive. The service was excellent. We decided to go with the Dine LA menu and since each course had 3 choices and there were 3 of us we had everything to share. Excellent!
One of most enjoyable meals I've had in Los Angeles in the last few months, particularly when I didn't feel like I was ripped off. In other words, we had a nice meal when the food was exceptionally well-conceived and perfectly executed, when the wine list was impressive, the service attentive but not effusive, and the tables were comfortable in settings where conversation was possible. I hear the place has been open a while, but I was new to Akasha. I loved it. Highly recommended.
Good food great service. Even got a candle on my desert plate for my birthday
Always a wonderful experience! Vegan options are on point 👌 and bottomless brunch is the bomb 💖
Visited Akasha during dineLA. Their prix-fixe menu options were delicious. I especially enjoyed their yellowtail ceviche and mango cheesecake. Read my full review on my blog: https://livelovelosangeles.blog/2018/07/24/dinela-akasha/
