Valentines Day dinner - lovely and delicious
I live in the neighborhood and had many breakfast/dinner meetings here and celebrated special occasions on the patio on hot summer evenings. The food is consistently good with a variety of healthy, tasty offerings.
Akasha is my absolute favorite restaurant in Los Angeles!! We went on a Friday night and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of flavors. The Bali Curry was packed with multiple spices and had a great consistency and very light. The decor is superb and there is something on the menu for everyone! I have had pretty much every selection on the menu and every dish is cooked to perfection!!!
My food was great! My friend's was average but she is a real foodie. Cocktails excellent. Very noisy but could talk some.
Problem I had was that the Hostess did not check us off and I received a reprimand from Open Table for not showing up! I didn't appreciate that and how hard is that job? She was mostly looking at her phone.
Breakfast with grandma, amazing food!
Unlike most people, I like to eat food. Akasha has pretty good food. If you are the extraordinary person that I am, and like food, you might like Akasha.
This is seriously one of my most favorite restaurants. However, today was easily the worst service I’ve ever had. The server was nowhere to be found for most of our meal. I was refilling our waters with the pitchers outside, and had to hunt him down with the check and my credit card after waiting for what seemed like 15-20 minutes for him to pick it up. He also wasn’t very friendly, and was more interested in looking at the street while he was at our table than looking at us.
Since I know how great akasha is, I’ll go back. If this were my first experience, I wouldn’t.
Super noisy. Our food was very underwhelming --both chicken and meatloaf were dry. Desserts were good.
Went there for drinks. Darryl our sever was awesome.
Nice restaurant. Ok for vegans and vegetarians. Assorted food.
There were 5 of us for dinner and we all really enjoyed our meals
Ten years of dining excellence and supporting the community! We loved the Dine LA options, but everything I've has been perfect. The Indian options were heavenly.
We’re going to Akasha for 15 years or since it opened. It was our favorite place for many years. We were there at least every other month!
Within the last couple of years the service got really bad! Arrogant unattentive waitresses, long waits for the food and drinks. The steak is jewey and fatty, and all food we tried kver the years are not the same in quality!
We finally decided not to go there anymore. We walked out after this reservation, because the waitress chose to ignore us. Then, when we asked someone else, a really snappy waitress was even worse!
Good bye Akasha! My prediction: you won’t last much longer that way!
I love Akasha! The food is always good, interesting and made with great quality ingredients. It's an easy going spot for a date night, to hang out with friends or work meals. Akasha blends the influence of her Indian background with international flavors from around the world and wholesome, California cuisine and the result is delicious. Easy going and always pleasant!
My friends and I had an excellent dinner during Dine LA week at Akasha. I will definitely come back to try some of their other more unique dishes. I'm also interested to try their brunch sometime. Good fun choice.
Great spot to grab a bite! Had a blast with friends. Food and drinks were delicious
Amazing servers, great food, wonderful experience!
Great vegan options and wine selection
Yummy farm to table style cuisine and very nice service! Easy parking next-door in the parking structure .
Great food and decor. Perfect service. Great DineLA deal. The only glitch was that we waited for 40 minutes to get a table even we had reservation
I have been here several times and it never disappoints. This night was half price wine bottles and that really helped to keep the price reasonable. It also wasn't too noisy -- a common issue I have lately with restaurants who think they will be thought of as "hot" if it is super noisy. But, really, it is just annoying. We were able to have good food and conversation at Akasha. Thanks
We went to celebrate our birthdays. It was also Dine LA week and we ordered off that menu. It was delicious and a great deal. There was also a wonderful jazz trio playing that we really enjoyed. Just the right amount of volume so you could still talk.
Always fantastic. Never disappoints. Vegan options.
Adorable little spot in central Culver; parking was easy in nearby structure. Easy to make a reservation and upon arrival seating was prompt. Loved the ambiance, a bit dark and moody, but well thought out. The menu selection was great and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend for a date or intimate gathering.
Great food and service!
I ordered the DineLA menu. The lentil soup was very good, the chicken masala was so-so and the lemon cheesecake could have had more lemon, and the cucumber aqua fresca was refreshing. For the price, perhaps a good deal, but I wish I'd looked at the regular menu instead of automtically ordering the DineLA menu. But, having said all of this, I love Akasha and think it is overall a wonderful restaurant.
Wonderful Dine LA menu! We enjoyed every course of our meal at Akasha. Great menu choices and a nice wine list.
I did not enjoy my time at Akasha. It was late brunch on a busy Saturday and the server seemed exhausted, the presentation of the food was sloppy and my chilaquiles were beyond basic. A tiny amount of cotija cheese, a half of a half chicken breast and a bunch of bland, saltless chips. No bueno. My partners burger was fine but also basic. The space is great and the scene was attractive and young but I’ve had more flavorful and satisfying food at El
Pollo Loco at 1/10th the price.
Akasha has excellent food and service. We went on a Friday night during DineLA and got an amazing deal of some top items on the menu. Well worth the evening! The ambience of the restaurant never disappoints either. Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends.
Checking out a new restaurant as part of dine la
Absolutely great quality food served in a timely and efficient manner.
The food was amazing. I’m glad she is incorporating the Indian influence here. I do wish the industrial warehouse model for restaurants would go away. It makes places much too noisy to be enjoyable. We did get there early enough to miss part of the worst of the noise until a “girls night out” foursome was seated next to us making conversation next to impossible. However the food compensated for much of that. We had the chicken tika masala and the trout both of which were delicious.
Came for Dinela. Delicious selection for carnivore, pescatarian or vegan. Great service. Highly recommend.
Always have good experiences here. Great food and service. Exceptionally friendly to gluten-free diners.
This restaurant was recommended to me by my daughter but I can't believe I DROVE half an hour to get to this dump. Ugly restaurant, terribly loud, tables close together, the wooden tables don't even look clean. Food, strictly as "good" or bad as a hamburger joint: in fact my grandson had the burger. I had soup and a small plate: the food was OK but it's kind of thrown at you by your busy waiter and the place is TERRIBLY overpriced! It's the sort of restaurant that makes you want next time to eat at home!!
Been having trouble finding restaurants in LA that have the perfect mix of ambiance, great food from local vendors, at good value. Akasha is a winner. I'll be returning time and time again.
If I were to sum up my experience in one word it would be "mediocre." However, I like to provide more details.
As I have thoroughly enjoyed dinner here in the past in addition to the bakery/cafe I thought hosting my birthday brunch here would be a great choice. Rather than go with the "tried and true" nearby Culver Hotel, I wanted to explore the large brunch menu at Akasha.
Unfortunately this was a mistake.
Overall, the food was average to below average and the service, bubbly host notwithstanding, was subpar.
Typically when doing a birthday brunch (birthday anything for that matter), a complimentary desert is served. That didn't happen. One of my guests had to get a birthday desert for me. It seemed that the server could care less that it was my birthday and was the antithesis of personable.
Burgers: dry. Honestly I would get a better burger for 1/2 the price at Burger Lounge or even In N Out. Coffee drinks: served in puddles of sloppy espresso versus on a clean plate.
Some of the more breakfasts dishes came out looking better but were rated as okay by my friends.
I and my guests had to ask repeatedly for sides that were requested but when it came down to pay the waitress swooped in like a vulture.
The waitress looked irritated (especially by me, the birthday girl) at our overall presence.
The prices didn't match the quality of the food.
I could just feel the vibe of "we don't care about you." Too bad as I have a company and could very well do functions here, but, never again will I come here.
Excellent food and service in a romantic setting
Very fresh, very good food. Cocktails are worth a try, but go for Happy Hour otherwise they’re $14-$16.
We did a family style ordering for our group of 6 and their dishes worked perfectly to share and sample a little bit of everything. Mushroom toast, seafood curry and Brussels sprouts were my favorite.
They had a special on a wine bottle that brought it down to a reasonable $32 a bottle which made it easy for our group to decide on ordering a 2nd bottle.
