Host, server, and kitchen staff all distracted. Caused partynot to be seated properly, order not taken properly, wrong food delivered.

Server was very apologetic and was not billed for incorrect meal.

I really enjoyed the cocktails we had. They had great flavor and complexity. The food was really good - comfort food with extra taste. I had the fried chicken sliders and we shared onion rings and the Indian street food appetizer. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice/casual dinner with friends.

I have dined at AKASHA many times, mostly for business lunches. The service at the front desk and from servers is always superb. The food is delicious and high quality with enough vegetarian options to please everyone. The wine list is always interesting if somewhat overpriced. The restaurant can be loud at lunchtime but still is comfortable and workable. On my most recent business lunch visit, the Host and Hostess seated us outside which worked out perfectly.

Went to Akasha before going to the Kirk Douglas theater. Very convenient, parking was easy. Food was god, servers were very capable, and service was timely. Probably won't go here often since we live in the San Gabriel Valley, but Akasha was a good choice for this particular evening.

My summary from a family lunch on a Friday: overpriced and poor value meal, good but not unique menu, sloppy and unconcerned service, industrial noisy atmosphere.

The majority of patrons at Friday lunch hour were Culver City film studio hipsters likely paying with corporate credit cards, unconcerned about lackluster service and bizarre prices ($5.25 Intelligentsia "pour-over" coffee, $4.50 generic quality green tea served in a bag and suspended in a cheap metal Chinese restaurant teapot with a chopstick, $3 upcharge for fries rather instead of cole slaw with sandwiches). The food runner came to deliver the drink setting with a sour face and--after we directed him to the proper person--left the tray on the opposite side of the table and walked away, unconcerned. Later, when we showed surprise that the fried chicken came as a sandwich and not as a platter, the waiter became defensive and rushed to grab a menu as evidence of our error, rather than poor menu formatting.

I may be a bit cynical, but I highly doubt Akasha would survive in a "regular" neighborhood not supported by studio money and customers as uncreative, indifferent, and self-absorbed as the restaurant staff. For normal people, the nearby Grand Casino offers a lovely, authentic, genuine, and affordable day-time dining experience, but with no pretentious pseudo-ethnic vegan menu and outlandish cocktail list. By the way, the coffee there is just as good, much cheaper, and the refills are free.

Akasha was a waste of money. I ordered the salmon which was recommended to me by a friend. It was thin and was about an inch and half of salmon. Thirty dollars ($30) would puchase 6 good portions of salmon at the fish market at Ralphs. I couldn't find the kale or pine nuts in this dish. I did find the squash -- two little slivers under the fish -- but the fish didn't even cover the two tiny portions of squash -- it was peeking out!! I started with the beet and avacado salad. This is great combination, but again -- way too small for $13 -- mostly luttuce and small bites of beets and limited avacado. It's a good thing my refrig was stocked. When I got home I had to have a real dinner. My friend from New York commented her dinner was also BAD. She had the chicken!! There are better places and greater value at other restaurants in Culver City.

We had Saturday brunch outside on the patio before seeing a show at the Kirk Douglas Theater. The ambiance was perfect on the beautiful Cali day. Avocado toast and potato latkes were yummy.

Mostly just ok experience. Chicken in red quinoa dish was dry and over cooked, waiter was mostly attentive until he forgot my latte and dropped the check. The couple next to us was so loud that we couldn’t carry a conversation without inadvertently over hearing theirs. We’ll try a new place next time.

I have been here twice and both times I was in love with the food and the rustic vibes. The farm to table sensibility is everywhere. It can be noisy unless you find the right table. I recommend a reservation if you go on friday or saturday. Definitely coming back to this one!

Akasha is okay. Isn't that sad! They are conveniently located near the Kirk Douglas Theater, they have fantastic service, nice ambiance...but the food is just "okay". My chicken dish was lukewarm, tasteless and rubbery. We were brought bread that was just a cold slice of store bought bread. We ordered onion rings that seem to have come out of a box. The salmon on the menu, we were informed, was "almost wild", which means farmed. For heavens sake, hire a an actual chef, and become something more than mediocre. I wouldn't even bother to dine at Akasha again.

Ordered mushroom toast, albacore tartar, beets and avocado salad, Mac & cheese, quinoa pilaf.
Everything was tasty. Mushroom toast was rich, albacore was little spicy, beers were so moist and tender, Mac &a cheese was so rich! One of my fav. Quinoa pilaf tasted like soaked in checkin broth, but I liked it.
Service was at good pace. Enjoyed the whole stay.

Wonderful restaurant with great food. Some innovative dishes; some for those who are not so venturesome. We had a lovely time meeting a friend visiting the area and we were able to have nice discussions without a lot of noise. Ample parking in a public lot behind the restaurant. You really have to try this place - you will appreciate my recommendation.

We had an amazing meal on Christmas Eve but our waiter was not very nice at all. He began by telling us unapologetically that the Bransino was no longer available which was upsetting because that was my reason to go in the first place and then when we asked if the octopus was still on the menu he was very rude about it. He was rude to us several times as if he was just tolerating us. It ruined the $300 meal.

Christmas Eve and mom's birthday. Our reservation note to sit inside which I called ahead and talked to the host day before and even emailed back and forth... was suddenly gone and they couldn't find our table. Sat at the cafe area which was quiet and quaint for family dinner but way too quiet meaning the server barely came. The food came out too fast and cold as if it had been heated up right after we ordered. Took too long to receive our check. Ordered a dessert to sing Happy Birthday to my mom but they couldn't write Happy Birthday on the plate... because they didn't have pipes. Oh well. Not going again. Almost $200 down the drain for party of 4, no alcoholic drinks.

Substantially significant Culver City restau. Akasha Richmond has been serving knowingly made, delicious food in a spacious yet somehow intimate room for years now- bravo. Professional, excellent service. Curried cauliflower, seasonal latkes with sour cream and salmon, trout, turkey burger plate- all terrific.
We let our server know that we were going to see a show at the Kirk Douglas and our meal was served with great dispatch, and that same time, we did not feel rushed. Then a happy surprise- a 15% theater-goers discount appeared on the check. Akasha don't ever go away!

We were there for pre-show dinner. We let the waiter know we had to leave at a specific time. They were very good about getting us fed and out on time. I was a little disappointed with the trout. I knew it was lightly breaded and pan-fried. But they breaded it over the skin, so you had to peel off all the nice crunchy stuff - unless you like to eat fish skin - which I don't. All the other dishes looked great.

The food was very good. However, the service was very erratic. The server gave my husband his salad but not me. After fifteen minutes, the waiter told me that my salad was being "plated". After another 15 minutes, my salad finally arrived. All this took at least 30 minutes. Meanwhile, myself husband didn't want to eat before I did, so he just sat there with his salad in front of him. After we ordered dessert, it took another 30 minutes for us to receive our order. All in all, a simple 3-course meal took 2 hours.

However, the food was well prepared. The burrata salad was delicious. The Kale Caesar could have used more than 2 small croutons--especially since I had to wait 30 minutes for it. The Bali seafood curry was unusual and delicious. I do not know why my husband's order was prepared before mine, or why it took so long. It may not have been the waiter's fault.

This is the 5th time we've dined here, and there will be a 6th. The food was delicious, and accessible. The drinks are always phenomenal -- trying the cucumber, pineapple, ginger spritzer was a true treat. Our waiter, David -- always a pleasure (we have had him 3/5 dinners), and it's like having dinner with a friend.

Thank you for making this birthday a memorable one.
