Tuscan Kale Caesar with shrimp is excellent
Visited Akasha multiple times for breakfast. They have great food! And a full cafe and fresh baked goods to boot. They offer vegetarian and vegan options as well, so it makes everyone happy :)
Food and service were outstanding as usual.
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious. It's a lovely space and I always enjoy it. And it's convenient to the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
Great Service, great food, ribs were fantastic! And the flourless cake!
We have been to Akasha for both lunch and dinner and have never come away disappointed. The menu is eclectic, ranging from curry to Indonesian ribs to steaks to seafood, and it changes seasonally. I try to avoid dairy and had no difficulty finding choices; they even had a non-dairy "ice cream" available. My only quibble is that for a restaurant of this caliber and price point, they should remove the silverware after the appetizers and replace with fresh setups. The service is attentive without being intrusive.
I’ve been going to AKASHA for over 10 years at least and every time it is marvelous!
Many delicious choices for a meal in this busy dinner time restaurant. Conveniently located for the Kirk Douglas and movie theater.
Delicious food and attentive service. We had a lovely dinner.
Had lunch here on Friday and liked it so much we came back for dinner on Saturday.
My fiance and I went to Akasha for a dinner on Saturday night. The food was amazing and the service was great.
One of the dishes I ordered wasn't cooked well. It sat there for 30 minutes....with just a couple bites taken out. The waiter never came back to check on how things were. The bus boy walked by and just cleared the whole table. The waiter never even knew. Disappointing, especially given the prices.
Consistently good. We visit Akasha regularly because we can always count on a good experience.
Went for Rosh Hashana dinner. Took my mother-in-law, who uses a walker. The staff took great care of her, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Great latkes, brisket, chicken, and traditional fruit plate w/ honey. Great overall service. A good choice we made to come here.
I had a really good time. Thank you for another peaceful year!
My one bad experience here. I love this place so much! Came in, and had a terrible server. Ordered delicious cocktails and appetizer. When our dinners arrived, my friends was good. My food was wrong and bad. I ordered a bowl with fish, and the protein was wrong, and also undercooked. Very undercooked. Raw.
I was waiting for the server to come back, and he never did. I was so hungry, I finally put the fish aside, and ate the bowl. He came back at the end, and he said it was not wrong, but he would take it off. HE CHARGED FOR IT ANYWAY. Just horrible. I don’t go there looking for a free meal, but this was terrible, and the service was worse.
Luckily, I love this place. If this was my first visit, it would have been my last.
This was recommended to us from a person who works at The Kirk Douglas Theatre. It's a great place to go before a show. The food was good, the service was good, but there wasn't enough items offered for people who wanted to eat a smaller meal. Otherwise it was good.
Lovely restaurant. Dined there many times for dinner. Ordered a kale salad, add chicken breast & shrimp. Salad was delicious as always, shrimp was overly salty. Lunch service was a little slow. Did not see waitress after ordering until check time.
Great host, friendly and accommodating, server was great.... food really good... usually at bar but sat outside too hot but they would of changed our seating if requested....
I always enjoy the creativity of the seasonal menu
Adequate brunch in a nice room. Attentive service. My pancake stack could have used an extra layer or two but the ones I did get were very good. More maple syrup, also, would not have gone amiss, though the waiter would likely have brought more if asked. A cautionary note about the watery coffee: avoid it at all costs, because it's undrinkable.
Great ambiance, drinks, food and service! Love coming here with friends
My wife took me to Akasha for my birthday, and we had an excellent time. The cocktail I ordered was delicious, and the service was great. There was a band playing jazz, which I am not normally a fan of, but it was quite lovely and not too loud or distracting. We would go back again!
Poor service, food just ok, menu items old nothing new.
I felt for a $17 sandwich pretty Under whelming.
The fries were burnt and the sandwich wasn't all that.
A disappointing meal for the price.
Akasha is a consistently exceptional meal. It's moderately priced; don't go there for a cheap place to eat... this is a quality dining experience... it's among the best restaurants in Culver City, if not the best.
Good atmosphere! Good quality of food !
The waiter was amazing
I never had dinner at Akasha (I live in Italy) and I have to say that everything we ate was delicious and rafined. A real 5 stars restaurant
I ordered a burger to be medium and it was most definitely rare. I told the waiter, who said they would make a new one. By the time I received my food back, my companion was finished with her meal. I normally love Akasha, so this was quite disappointing.
By far the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. Service was also great. The manager came over and talked with us for a while - far beyond the typical check in that restaurant managers do.
We met friends to catch-up and has an enjoyable meal.
I might recommend meeting a friend here, or date night, because it's a beautiful place and the lighting is wonderful. Lighting and mood in restaurants really is a lost art. However, the food and drink is very lackluster. I order a $13 glass of sangria and it might as well have been juice with chunks of mushed fruit floating in it. When I order a sangria at others (and usually for half the price) I can taste the wine and there's usually nice, fresh fruit inside and a strawberry on the rim. Not here. My friend and I both ordered the mushroom soup (also expensive) and it was like gray gruel you'd find in a nursing home. Awful. However, if you order something that can't be messed up, like a bottle of beer and a salad, then Akasha is worth it because it's a pretty and nice place with good service.
Had a fabulous Hibiscus Mezal Margarita - it was delicious.
The best food in the city! And if you're vegan, gluten free, dairy free, carnivore, whatever......there is amazing food for everyone.
Fun atmosphere for lunch, lots of energy. Service is superb and friendly and makes Akasha one
of my favorite spots.
Outstanding service especially when one of our food items wasn’t up to par. The waiter immediately removed it and said there would be no charge. The manager then came over to say the chef tasted the food and agreed with us. She then offered to give us two free glasses of wine. The potato pancakes with Lox was excellent as well as the steak. Delicious homemade ice cream. A class act
Our waiter served us water at room temperature. We asked the bus boy for cold water to when we had a chance who was very nice. The mushroom omelet our son ordered was nothing special but my veggie burger was excellent and my husband enjoyed his lox and scrambled egg plate. Although I asked our waiter for a to go container, he never brought it. The bus boy was again very nice since he brought the container as soon as I asked for it and offered to package up my leftovers.
Great restaurant with amazing food options. The coffee was spectacular!! Went for a business meeting and it was the perfect mix of casual and business. Great vibes. There are mulitple food options for everyone - vegan/vegetarian/meat/Gluten Free. Would highly recommend a reservation because they fill up quickly!
This place is an old favorite, I've been coming here with friends and family for 10 years. But its gotten stale. The restroom are dirty and grimy. It smells sour. The meal the other night was fine, the kitchen still does a good job, but the menu hasn't been updated in ages. The wine selection is good and the drinks are terrific. But the service was terrible, unwelcoming and perfunctory. The hostess wouldn't make eye contact with us and the server did everything but throw the menues at us. It wasn't busy, we were practically the only people there. Sorry to see an old favorite fall apart.
