AKASHA restaurant/bar/cafe features New American cuisine offering comfort food with big flavors and sustainable ingredients, for carnivores and herbivores alike. Chef/Caterer Akasha Richmond brings visionary cuisine to her own neighborhood eatery located in the historic Hull Building in downtown Culver City. Keeping the principles of sustainability in mind, the building's original steel, wood, concrete and brick arches were restored while the design materials pair with a seventies modernity to exude an inviting and lively atmosphere. The artisan bakery has both sweet and savory selections, as well as locally roasted direct trade coffee. The 20-seat bar highlights fresh juice cocktails, organic and premium spirits, beer and wine. The entire menu is available for catering or to go.

Beet salad came without the beets. Had to chase down waiter to get the beets. Quinoa bowl with chicken came without the chicken. Burger with mustard came without mustard. Go to Akasha often. Worst experience this time.

Husband and I went to get a bite before a play at the Kirk Douglas. We had a reservation for a table but decided to sit at the bar. The service was fast and friendly. Wednesday is fun because bottles of wine are half off so it's a great deal. We had the tandoori chicken wings, brussel sprouts and the smashburger. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and very fresh. We will definitely be back soon!

I have eaten at the bar before and really liked the food but last night I ordered the hamburger for the first time and it was very disappointing. A thin fatty patty on a doughy bun.

Food was good. Service was good. Didn’t have water refills after bill was paid, though. Restaurant was cleared out by that time. Be aware of kitchen love that they add on the bill before the tip.

Staff warm and professional! Back patio private and very welcoming! Able to accommodate my allergies 100% with delicious creative food. Lovely experience and highly recommend!! Cool vibe.
