We shared the vegetable and burrata cheese appetizer. The waiter indicated we needed to order
a side of bread-the menu said bread but he said it was a misprint? Kinda cheesy if you ask me.
My friend had the chicken and said it was ok, a bit dry. I had fish which was very good
A very noisy place with tables literally on top of each other which is a bit uncomfortable
I enjoyed the gluten free onion rings and fried chicken - a real treat as I've not been able to eat that type of thing in years due to it never being gluten free!
Will definitely be back.
Very enjoyable restaurant. Love the ambiance there with the live yet quiet jazz group. The food is good but a bit expensive for what they serve. Love the mushroom toast! Very good cocktails and a decent happy hour.
Wonderful experience as always! Very knowledgeable about food sensitivities, lots of options.
The staff and servers were very rude. The food was poor quality and over priced.
I complained to the owner about the rude staff, but he did not seem to care at all.
Every time I come here, I have a great time and the food is terrific. Some of the items on the menu are regulars, but they seem to change things up so there is always something fresh and original. The sign of a truly good restaurant is that you can visit it over and over and always have a great experience. Akasha certainly passes this test. Though not the cheapest place in town, the prices are commensurate with the quality, and the food is well worth it.
Shared four small plates. Flavor of each was distinct, interesting, and DELICIOUS. (Albacore Crudo - light, refreshing with a hint of a zing!; Tandori Spiced Chicken wings - taste it alone before using the sauces because they're great alone, but dip away once you've tasted them solo; Sev Puri Chaat - light but very flavorful; Sweet Potato with tahini -- OH MY GAWWW...! I could eat my way out of a tub of these!).
Wonderful menu with flavorful, health conscious food. Great ambiance and convenient location right next to a reasonably priced parking lot. Only downfall was that they did not have 2 of the special menu items (our dinner was at 8pm) but the waiter was very kind and suggested similar items on the regular menu. Overall great experience and will definitely be coming back!
The whole team at Akasha we’re brilliant and couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful.
We all ordered different entree’s and we were all really pleased with our choices.
Excellent, creative menu with superior service.
I have met a friend in CC for brunch a few times and this is our favorite of the bunch. Delicious food, nice service, comfortable atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
This must have been an off night, I hope. Waited 10 minutes to get seated by the hostess even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. We had reservations. Waited another 20 to order our food. Either understaffed that night or our waiter was new. Not very attentive. I even had to get up from the table, walk to the ice bucket to get our bottle of wine. Waiter didn’t check in during or after dinner. Had to flag down a manager to get a dessert menu. Also having to box up the leftovers yourself after a $200 dinner was a bit shocking. Overall very disappointing.
Great service from start to finish
Tuscan Kale Caesar with shrimp is excellent
Visited Akasha multiple times for breakfast. They have great food! And a full cafe and fresh baked goods to boot. They offer vegetarian and vegan options as well, so it makes everyone happy :)
Food and service were outstanding as usual.
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious. It's a lovely space and I always enjoy it. And it's convenient to the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
Great Service, great food, ribs were fantastic! And the flourless cake!
We have been to Akasha for both lunch and dinner and have never come away disappointed. The menu is eclectic, ranging from curry to Indonesian ribs to steaks to seafood, and it changes seasonally. I try to avoid dairy and had no difficulty finding choices; they even had a non-dairy "ice cream" available. My only quibble is that for a restaurant of this caliber and price point, they should remove the silverware after the appetizers and replace with fresh setups. The service is attentive without being intrusive.
I’ve been going to AKASHA for over 10 years at least and every time it is marvelous!
Many delicious choices for a meal in this busy dinner time restaurant. Conveniently located for the Kirk Douglas and movie theater.
Delicious food and attentive service. We had a lovely dinner.
Had lunch here on Friday and liked it so much we came back for dinner on Saturday.
My fiance and I went to Akasha for a dinner on Saturday night. The food was amazing and the service was great.
One of the dishes I ordered wasn't cooked well. It sat there for 30 minutes....with just a couple bites taken out. The waiter never came back to check on how things were. The bus boy walked by and just cleared the whole table. The waiter never even knew. Disappointing, especially given the prices.
Consistently good. We visit Akasha regularly because we can always count on a good experience.
Went for Rosh Hashana dinner. Took my mother-in-law, who uses a walker. The staff took great care of her, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Great latkes, brisket, chicken, and traditional fruit plate w/ honey. Great overall service. A good choice we made to come here.
I had a really good time. Thank you for another peaceful year!
My one bad experience here. I love this place so much! Came in, and had a terrible server. Ordered delicious cocktails and appetizer. When our dinners arrived, my friends was good. My food was wrong and bad. I ordered a bowl with fish, and the protein was wrong, and also undercooked. Very undercooked. Raw.
I was waiting for the server to come back, and he never did. I was so hungry, I finally put the fish aside, and ate the bowl. He came back at the end, and he said it was not wrong, but he would take it off. HE CHARGED FOR IT ANYWAY. Just horrible. I don’t go there looking for a free meal, but this was terrible, and the service was worse.
Luckily, I love this place. If this was my first visit, it would have been my last.
This was recommended to us from a person who works at The Kirk Douglas Theatre. It's a great place to go before a show. The food was good, the service was good, but there wasn't enough items offered for people who wanted to eat a smaller meal. Otherwise it was good.
Lovely restaurant. Dined there many times for dinner. Ordered a kale salad, add chicken breast & shrimp. Salad was delicious as always, shrimp was overly salty. Lunch service was a little slow. Did not see waitress after ordering until check time.
Great host, friendly and accommodating, server was great.... food really good... usually at bar but sat outside too hot but they would of changed our seating if requested....
I always enjoy the creativity of the seasonal menu
Adequate brunch in a nice room. Attentive service. My pancake stack could have used an extra layer or two but the ones I did get were very good. More maple syrup, also, would not have gone amiss, though the waiter would likely have brought more if asked. A cautionary note about the watery coffee: avoid it at all costs, because it's undrinkable.
Great ambiance, drinks, food and service! Love coming here with friends
My wife took me to Akasha for my birthday, and we had an excellent time. The cocktail I ordered was delicious, and the service was great. There was a band playing jazz, which I am not normally a fan of, but it was quite lovely and not too loud or distracting. We would go back again!
Poor service, food just ok, menu items old nothing new.
I felt for a $17 sandwich pretty Under whelming.
The fries were burnt and the sandwich wasn't all that.
A disappointing meal for the price.
Akasha is a consistently exceptional meal. It's moderately priced; don't go there for a cheap place to eat... this is a quality dining experience... it's among the best restaurants in Culver City, if not the best.
Good atmosphere! Good quality of food !
