AJ's on Hanover
Generally wonderful meal ! The food was exceptional (unbelievable cream of crab soup !!!) There happened to be a VERY loud (and unruly) group near us for the first half of our meal, which made conversation problematic. Unfortunately, one of the servers (not ours) was a part of this noise issue. The high chairs were not comfortable, and I would have preferred a "normal" height chair / table : granted, we could have asked to move and did not. I am sure that we would have been moved, if we asked. Our server was very nice, helpful and informative. As the room filled with other customers, our server became harder to find and connect with. (The other earlier server had disappeared ?!) But when we DID connect with our server, she was delightful. I will definitely return, and look forward to trying other delicious items on their menu.
Never actually got to the restaurant because I spent 25 minutes looking for parking and decided to go elsewhere perhaps you guys should get valet
We had an awesome time. Great food, and service! Definitely coming back
Sat at the bar tables. It wasn’t very business so it wasn’t that loud. Played great music. Food was very good
We made a last minute reservation for 15people. The staff happily greeted us and gave us the entire upstairs. We received excellent and attentive service. The food was great & the staff were able to accommodate food restrictions. Can not speak highly enough about the service we received.
Friendly staff, awesome brunch and bottomless bloody. Crab cake and short rib Benedict’s were delicious.
The food and service at AJ’s is amazing. Everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. For my last visit, we made a reservation for 10, but had more people than expected. The staff there was very helpful and happy help us make room for our party. I’ve been here numerous times and will continue to come back. Thanks again!
Awesome place, service was fantastic, food was bomb. Fun local atmosphere.
Been here multiple times and it has always been great. However, tonight I had a server who cleared our place twice before we were done eating.
Great little spot, stopped in with a party of 4 before Billy Joel concert. Food was great, K.P. (our server) was wonderful, overall great experience, will be back.
AJs is one of my absolute favorite new spots. I've been here quite a few times, and love it. My go-tos are the scallops, the chicken Chesapeake special, and the Destiny chicken sandwich. ALL amazing. There is a dining space in the back so that it's not too loud, as well as a few tables for outdoor seating. The space is very quaint, and the service is also great. Definitely worth checking out! I'll be back to try brunch soon
Great brunch. We shared the Hanover French toast/ monkey bread, and I got the crabcakes benny and my friends got the smoked salmon bagel and the country breakfast. Food was excellent, will def be back to take advantage of the bottomless!
Great food and drinks. Our server was very nice and hostess accommodated us by opening the wall of windows to help ease the chill of AC. We went there for brunch before heading over to Sagamore for an event. It’s less than a mile away. Would highly recommend. We didn’t have our kids with us, but seemed to be kid friendly.
I was disappointed in the dish that I ordered and response from the server. This is a great neighborhood spot and I’ll return but will not be ordering the vegetable risotto again. The person I was dining with enjoyed their meal. It also took longer than expected to get our food.
Our book club was thrilled with the excellent service--our server adeptly accomodated us as a party of eight and ensured we all had a great experience.
Every meal at the table was delicious. The fried Brie was to die for. The service was superb. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future.
The food was delicious! The crabcake eggs Benedict was the best I’ve ever had. They had bottomless mimosa, bloodies and sangria which was great (you don’t have to stick to one kind). The one thing I would say that was strange was my first Bloody Mary came with a old bay rim plus a lime and lemon, then my friends came with just celery and then my next one came with just the drink. The drinks tasted great but there was not consistency with presentation.
Nice neighborhood restaurant, parking is touch so be advised. One drawback, our server raved about how good their "crushes" were so we ordered two of them...they were anything but memorable and I wouldn't order them again. We ordered the brussels with the destiny sauce and they were delicious! We also had the cauliflower appetizer which was pretty good and we had the wings with the destiny sauce which were delicious and I would recommend them to anyone!
Awesome spot for brunch. Service and food were amazing and the open door seating made for a great meal.
Crab dip was excellent. I had the beet salad with salmon that was just outstanding. My wife had the short rib, grilled cheese sandwich and my son the grilled cheese with tomato basil soup that were both also incredibly tasty. Great neighborhood find.
Great service great food
Nice place but the food was just ok. Stick with apps, a burger or salad and you’ll be fine. The scallops were bland and served a top bacon corn risotto that was super thick and pasty. Our server was great and the place is really nice inside. Wish I could give it a higher rating. I’ll be back to try it again!
Great food and service. So excited to see the addition to the neighborhood.
We had the BEST time at AJ’s!! The food was amazing, service was impeccable, and the ambiance was so enjoyable. Worth every single penny that we spent there celebrating a milestone birthday for my father this evening. Our young children also had the best time and the kids menu is awesome. Will definitely be returning time and time again!!
Venue - AJs is a great place for good food, beer and atmosphere. Very clean and the decor is modern and tasteful. A quality place to enjoy a casual dinner.
Food - AJs pub fries are awesome as was the Pork Chop. Very minor criticism is that the seasoning was slightly on the salty side but I’m ok with that. Others may not. But the flavor and tenderness are outstanding for a $20 entree.
The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is they currently don’t have a dessert menu. What!!!
We would certainly return to try other menu items.
We’ve been to AJs on several occasions and it always appears to be hit or miss. This time it was miss. The food came out wrong, the server was sub-par (forgot several things, took forever, and the food was not great this time. I was disappointed this time.
It was very good! The ambiance was nice, the service was great, and the food was good. The only thing my party was disappointed with were the cauliflower tots. Have had these type of tots from lots of places and have never been disappointed until we tried these. They weren't necessarily bad, just not very good. Otherwise, everything else was great! Will return again.
Waitress was so nice too!
Great food. Great service. Had an excellent time and will be back!
I got the blueberry ricotta pancakes and they were the best pancakes I’ve ever had! The only thing I would complain about is that the food took longer than normal to come out, but clearly it was worth it!
The service was great and the food good but too much! The servings were very large. The samon donut would have been better on a bagel! Too much invention here. We will be back
This was my first visit & I brought three others where this was their first time. Everyone loved their meals: bolognese tortellini, AJ’s wrap, filet Rockefeller and the salmon with coconut risotto. A good variety of cocktails on the menu, loved the Sobo lemon stick - great nod to Baltimore and super refreshing!
Delicious! Get the pretzel bites with the crab dip :)
Great brunch with plenty of options. All are delicious. Service was friendly and accommodating.
Wonderful restaurant week menu! Portions were great and the food was outstanding!
Great food and service. Manager gave us a bottle of champagne when he found out we were celebrating and engagement and birthday.
Went for restaurant week with my sister! We loved the food! The server we had was really nice and helpful actually all of the staff we encountered were super friendly, and the host helped us navigate the complicated parking situation. It was quiet but it might be because it was snowing and things picked up as we were leaving around 8:00 ish. I ordered the steak frites, we shared old bay wings and my sister ordered and loved the fish tacos (I think it was mahi mahi) we didn’t get dessert though which I kind of regret but may go back again for!
It was phat.
We had a Sunday brunch. All of us enjoyed our meals. The pancakes were exceptional. Lots of options with Short Ribs. Good service on a busy morning.
We arrived when it first opened on the weekend. We waited over an hour to get our food.
