The restaurant is clean and decor inviting. The sushi was very good and great presentation with a reasonable price. The service was very lackluster. There were two tables occupied when I arrived around 5 on a Sunday night. The hostess seemed annoyed I had a reservation for only one. The server took my order, delivered my order and cleared my plates. Very transactional and never once asked me how my meal was. I could have gotten takeout and sat at home for the lack of warmth. Too many options at other restaurants to go back. I’m a huge sushi fan and this is a five minute walk from my house. Bummer you blew an opportunity to just be nice and even a little bit caring.
This is our favorite sushi restaurant in all of New York. The food is PHENOMENAL!!! We eat here a few times a month....and we can't wait to go back again. Service is great and the price is excellent for the quality. I would give them 100 stars if I could....we Highly recommend Ajisai.
Food was ok. Quite small portions for the price
Sushi is awesome here
Restaurant is declining. Sushi was just OK. Decor is getting really old and beat up. I think I'll be looking for a new sushi place around Times Sq in the future.
decent food but a little to pricey for what it was
They were willing to make me general tso tofu when they had very little vegetarian dishes on the menu. It was good and spicy. Sushi was very good (sweet potato roll was great and spicy tuna was good) as well as some of the best miso soup I’ve had. The pad Thai was mediocre
We absolutely LOVE Ajisai....The food and the service is exceptional. Our waiter Alvin is AWESOME too!!! This is our favorite sushi restaurant in all of New York. The special rolls are mouth-wateringly delicious, especially the Lady Gaga, The Spiderman, and the Angry Dragon rolls. Plus you've gotta have the Bite Me Rice and Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno appetizers. Also, it's always so nice to walk in and have Alvin know exactly what we like to order....talk about great service! Can't wait to go back again.
This is a small restaurant with Asian Fusion in the theater district. The sushi is always very fresh and the service is fast. There are limited cooked options. It is a great place to go before or after Broadway or a play on Theater Row.
Another Perfect evening at Ajisai. The BEST sushi in Manhattan. Awesome service and prices for exceptional food and drinks!!!
We had an amazing anniversary dinner tonight...Ajisai is without question the BEST Sushi in Manhattan! The food, drinks, service, ambience and price are all phenomenal. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Ajisai is always excellent, topnotch sushi, service, and value.
The food was amazing! Ordered the sushi for two with two rolls and 18 pieces chef’s choice and the sushi was fresh and delicious. Pad Thai was great, fresh and tasty— no lingering fishy taste. Spicy chicken miso ramen was good too! Miso soup and salad before the meal were perfect and staff was nice, quick and efficient, would 100% recommend! Dinner was very affordable for what we ordered, and definitely surprised it wasn’t packed with people for how good it was! Ajisai is a hidden gem
Great food with excellent service.
Good all around. Special rolls are particularly good and interesting.
Had a nice and casual dinner... Food was good, especially the sushi.
Another AWESOME dinner...Ajisai is the best sushi in Midtown!!! Can’t wait to go back
I've been here many times and the restaurant is always very good on service, quality and value for the price of midtown Manhattan. I plan to continue coming back - thank you for another nice visit.
Great food and nice size portions. Piced for good value. Place is not very large so we had to wait beyond our reservation time. They do a big take out. Great menu and choice of deserts.
They didn't have our reservation and made us wait over an hour
A bit crowded, even on a wednesday evening. the table next to mine was a family, not an ideal place to take a date, I felt. Food was good.
Our favorite sushi in Hell’s Kitchen!!! Awesome food, drinks and service!!!
Always enjoy coming here when visiting nyc
I would highly recommend for a meal before a Broadway show. Good food, reasonably priced and nice ambiance.
We were extremely pleased with our visit to Ajiasi. The sushi was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you for such a nice time!
Excellent service and sushi at a reasonable price (considering the excellence of both the sushi and service). Standard maki roll selections were all well above average quality. Along with eel avocado, tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, I enjoyed their spicy tuna, an order I usually regret at cheaper spots. Would skip the lobster roll next time and go for a fresh fish special roll if anything.
Interesting concept with lots of Asian fusion dishes. Food is pretty good. Ambiance is quaint, staff is friendly
Unpretentious place in Hell's Kitchen. Very
fair prices for very fresh food. Service professional and friendly. Great choice for before or after the theater.
Dinner with friends from out of town. Ajisai hasn't disappointed us yet. Great food and service.
Best sushi in Hell’s Kitchen!!!
Food, drinks and service is Awesome.
Second time dining, excellent sushi. Fresh.
Food was very good, and the service was exceptional. Our needs were well met, and the staff was very attentive. I would definitely go back.
They’re quick with the service and very attentive. Overall it was a good experience
While the food here is always very good, on my last visit I was very disappointed in the service. I arrived at 5:55 for my 6pm reservation, and proceeded to stand by the host stand for half an hour, during which time all my queries were met with ‘just a few seconds.’ No apologies or attempt to rectify the lack of table for my party, and when a booth finally did open up, I was initially told it was for parties of three or more and my party of two couldn’t sit there, despite having STILL not been seated at 6:30pm. I insisted, and once seated we had a very nice meal, though never received a real apology or explanation other than that they were ‘very busy’ (the anticipation of which is what had prompted me to make a reservation in the first place). I’ll go back because the sushi is good quality and good value, but another such experience will make me reconsider.
Great food. Eat there every time we travel to NYC
Good date spot
Delicious sushi appetizers and rolls....creative combinations that are absolutely mouth watering, and very affordable...especially for excellent quality sushi!!! It's our favorite sushi restaurant in NYC. If you go you must try the Bite Me Rice, and the Yellowtail Jalapeno appetizers (I also love the Mini Pizzas), then get the Lady Gaga, Spider man and Angry Dragon Rolls....Although, we've also had a bunch of other rolls and loved them all, but that's our go to order whenever we hit Ajisai.
All of the food was delicious. We were a group of vegans and meat eaters and there was plenty for for everyone. Ambience was very nice, service was very good.
Stopped in for lunch and everything was wonderful. Had a variety of sushi, tempura and the general tso’s chicken. It was all fresh and delicious.
Nice ambience. Great location for before or after theatre. The sushi was very good. Loved the angry dragon roll.
