Our group of 8 showed up for our reservation and were told they had a private party and couldn’t accommodate us. We had to wander around in the rain looking for alternate dinner plans on a Friday night in midtown. Very bad experience.
A good time was had by all.
The waitress was horrible. The lunch menu was not what was on the website.
Service was slow, food was good. Extremely noisy. Sat upstairs from bar. Would not go back if hoping to be able to talk while dining.
New restaurant in HK so figured we’d give a try though clearly they are working out the kinks. Menu is limited and waaayyy overpriced. Burger was $30 with an a la carte order of standard fries. Signature cocktails were also pricey for the value and meh. Service also needs additional training. On 9th Ave where restaurants have steep competition, I’ll try the next restaurant that occupies this space after AS closes.
The service was heads above what it was last time i went. They are still working out some of the kinks but I will be be back there for sure, very soon! The music choice is AWFUL though.
we went to brunch on Sunday with some Groupons. We had a fantastic time. Lots of fun had by all. We had a really great waitress that hooked us up proper on our drinks. Would def recommend going here and will make a return. :)
We decided to explore this new location in Midtown, for The $40 Boozy Brunch deal to only find out at the very end that this location is not affiliated with the other “Ainsworth” locations
Hmmm.. same logo as the others but not “affiliated” ok-
The “Deal” at this location was 90min Mimosas (Which we’re made with the cheapest champagne on earth) and entree (priced at the entree price) The Quality of the steak was awful- we both ordered the same dish and agreed that the steak was not worth the $36. The fries were very good but that’s all.
Not the best ending to a great start.
Food was really good when we got it. But pretty slow service with multiple mistakes in order even though restaurant was mostly empty .
I did not have a good experience at Ainsworth. I’ve visited other Ainsworth locations before and this one was by far the worst. I made a reservation for a table of 3. I arrived and the hostess was not at the hostess stand for at least 5 minutes. I stood in the front waiting.... Other employees walked past me and did not acknowledge me at all. Finally a waiter came by and I asked him where the hostess was. He replied and said “she’s not here right now”. So I stayed and waited.
Finally the hostess started to seat us. First she sat us at a table of 2. But I clearly said I had a table of 3. She put 2 tables together (long ways). It was the most awkward seating ever. They clearly did not know what they were doing. Or even seemed to have worked at a restaurant before. They should have figured out the seating before having us sit. They were moving chairs and tables around and it was very unorganized.
Finally they put the 2 tables together the correct way, but we were clearly in the way of people walking. The back of the restaurant was open but they chose to have us sitting in the most awkward spot.
We sat down and no waitress came over to us. Finally when she did, WE had to ASK for the menus. The hostess didn’t even think to give them to us.... Again - just very poor service. The menu online is not accurate to what was provided to us. The Mac and cheese was the smallest plate possible and was $14!
For the inconvenience, they gave us a drink for free. That was nice. But at that point I was so annoyed I just wanted to leave.
Definitely not a good first impression! I won’t be visiting again and definitely not recommending to others. It is upsetting because we were excited to visit since it was a new location.
