Ainsworth Park Ratings and Reviews
I dine at all of the Ainswoth often. The service we received for our group of 11 last night was the worst. Restaurant was not busy at all and our waitress was really bad and not one bit pleasant to our group. Not a hi, thank you or an apology for the mistakes she made including when she forget to order one of our entrees. I had to constantly waive down a busboy to track our waitress down because she was constantly disappear for periods of time.
Showed up for Reservation and was seated. The restaurant was empty, with a small gathering at the bar.
Asked the waitress for Drinks specials, Waitress was not clear on drink specials and or prices. I was told Wine and Beer. I ordered sparkling wine. After 10 mins of waiting another waitress arrived and advised me that the sparkling wine wasn't part of the drink specials.
We were told by the waitress that service would be slow tonight due to training a new waitress.
The hostess and waitresses seem un interested in their job and did not have a warm demeanor.
We left before ordering and food.
Anisworth is a great sports bar that is both laid-back and chic and refined. I took a date for brunch and she was impressed with the atmosphere and clean decor of the place. It's not a typical sports bar but more of a spot I would hold parties /events that just happens to have TVs w/ sports on around the venue.
I have visited before for drinks with friends. It;s usually a hot spot, but on Saturday was rather slow... which is why it's concerning that the service was awful. We were there 5:30pm - 9pm... The service was terrible. Hostess and waitress both very nice, but was extremely slow. We had to send drinks back, as our orders were messed up. Hostess ended up throwing in a round of beers on the house, but still.. the experience was less than ideal. Sweet Tea Wings were very oily and greasy.
Found their Instagram, so decided to visit to try the burgers. The burgers were good, but appetizers were lacking. Had terrible service. Our server was rude, and maybe came to the table three times, and never even came to ask how our food was. One of our drinks took 30 minutes. It wasn't even that busy.
Guacamole - awesome
Great drinks, good variety of beer
Specialty salad - delicious
Burgers, including MacnCheese, messy, but great
Caesar salad - meh
Fish Tacos - meh
Ambiance - perfect to watch a game and hang out with friends. Great music, lots of TVs to watch multiple games at once. Different options for groups, couples or solo.
Soda tasted like it was flat.
Tap water was given to us, in a dirty bottle.
Waitress was never checking in. The bus boys helped us more.
Sitting space was uncomfortable. As another couple was leaving their seats, our water was knocked down and spilled all over me. That's how close we were.
The guac and chips were not fresh. Guac was cold as if taken out the fridge. Chips were pretty hard as if it was stail.
Food is great, service on the other hand not so much... the venue is so big that with people at the standup bar and those seated the waiters don't seem to have an eye on their customers. I always would need to wave an arm and look around when requesting service... but as mentioned it doesn't mean that I wouldn't come back here... I certainly liked the food, I had the mac and cheese burger which was awesome! My girlfriend had the cheesesteak burger and she loved it. 'A' grade for food, 'C+' for service.
We went there for brunch after all the social media hype. I must say it did taste as good as the Instagram pics look.
We started off with the churro waffle Sunday which was outstanding and delicious. We then got the egg white omelette with spinach and feta which was awesome as well as the breakfast burrito
Definitely will be back here to try one of the signature burgers
Been here before, unfortunately service really was subpar this visit. Our server was unfriendly and messed up our order, never checked in on us, and was unapologetic about any mishaps. She seemed to be very interested in getting off as it was the end of her shift and the brunch service was coming to a close. It was obviously not as busy and she was coming off a busy shift most likely but failed to maintain any enthusiasm or positive attitude during our service from her. I would advise only going during busier times as their weakness of service, like amy establishments is when it's slow and the servers aren't making as much in tips.
Our waitress who was about 20 years younger than k kept Calljng me babe and honey which was strange.
Crab tacos which she said were wonderful were pretty bad- dripping w mayo.
Rest of the food was fine. Drinks were good and the fries were the best part.
Thought it was pretty high priced for a sports bar.
Would only return to sit at the bar and watch a game. $15 a drink at a sports bar?
I was disappointed that the value of the Open Table gift card could not be used for gratuity. Our bill was $76, the gift card was foe $100, they would not let us give the balance to the waitress. We do not live in NY so we left with a $24 balance. We returned late for dessert but still left with a $6 credit which we will likely not use. Not sure if that is particular to the restaurant or to the open table gift card process.
The server was slow and didn't refill drinks. Our food came out after 30 minutes of waiting. The server was then setting an empty table instead of serving our food. Over 30 minutes of waiting is unacceptable for lunch. I will not go back. They don't serve iced tea. How can you not serve iced tea?
Service is so poor. After flagging down the waitress to find out what happened to our dinner 30 minutes after a second round of drinks, she said "I'll check on it", then 15 minutes later it came out (ribeye (very good) and skirt steak salad (good)). We had to flag her down again to have our water refreshed. Then, we ordered fried Apple Empanadas to share for dessert. 20 minutes later we flagged her down and she said "I'll check on it". Then she came out and said "the kitchen said it takes awhile, for the preparation". It then came out cold. When I told her the kitchen lied to her (yes, it was prepared fried, but clearly fried several hours before), she said she'd speak to the manager. She came back and said the management apologizes, but there was no accommodation on the bill for that. I spoke to the manager about the issues on our way out, and she apologized saying I wish you would have said something earlier. I then reiterated to her the whole story, indicating that her waitstaff lies and the kitchen lies. Then the management reported to Open Table that my reservation was a "no show", but my Amex proved that all of them liars. Never going back.
We went for brunch and our first clue should have been the empty tables during the busiest brunch hour. I ordered the simplest things on the menu: The yogurt parfait and a cup of coffee. I literally received a tablespoon of Greek yogurt covered by a huge mound of oats and sad looking fruit salad. Yuck. Coffee came with no milk, no spoon. When I asked for milk, it came in an espresso cup, which of course, dribbled everywhere when I tried to pour it into the coffee. My companions enjoyed their meals well enough, but to be inept at serving yogurt and coffee means I would not go back.
My complaints, this play musing like its a night club and it is unnecessary. My monday night, I spent most of my time reading lips or yelling across a table to be heard. There is absolutely no reason why the music at this place should be at the volume it is.
Monday night football, they played music, with sports on the televisions. Ummmm. Who wants to hear the radio as opposed to the actual game? What is the point? I can hear Taylor Swift any time I want with spotify, apple music, pandora, youtube... However, watching a Live game on Monday night football? I requested volume for the sports, they wouldn't accommodate, so I took my American Express Black card to another location and gave them my business.
Not the best for families, but I can totally see a younger crowd hanging out here after work. The drinks were great. Stick to the burgers- they have lots of cool ones. The seating is loungey and makes for fun after work or evening fun. It was not very crowded at 5:30 on a Friday, and I don't know why. I would recommend it especially for after work drinks and bar food
