Great service, friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere. Great place for happy hour with friends or dinner with loved ones.
The Ainsworth has a good selection of small plates, with the emphasis on “small.” When we’ve gotten flatbread or nachos at other restaurants, for example, my wife and I are able to be satisfied with sharing one. We have to order two at the Ainsworth, which makes them not as good a value as some other restaurants.
They also have loud music playing, which the other restaurants we go to generally don’t have. We have successfully asked them to turn the volume down. Loud music is an especially bad idea during covid, since people have to get closer and talk louder to be understood over the music, making for a greater covid risk.
The Ainsworth has a good menu with a good variety of choices for small plates that can be enjoyed with a glass of wine. The music was quite loud starting out, but we got them to turn the volume down.
Food portions for brunch are very small IMO
Ordered the side of Mac and cheese with Bacon and it was phenomenal.
No happy hour available and the bbq pizza was too much BBQ in comparison to the chicken and onions .
Had a great time and yummy food . I recommend it
We chose the outdoor dining, which was adequately spaced for the limited amount of space. The food was good as well, with a good temperature and freshness.
It was a great time. There was an issue with the music that was resolved. Great bottomless options. Would love a bigger variety of starters but overall great experience.
amazing! will definitely be returning. the mac and cheese tots are 10/10
The food was meh, the drinks were terrible. Would only go here for wings and beer.
This place has really gone down in the past year. Used to be our work team’s go to spot. Quality of the food is mediocre. The short rib sandwich used to be so good, but this time was mostly bread, lukewarm and bland. The quesadilla appetizer is $18 and not special at all. Kind of a joke. Staff were friendly, which is always nice. Still, really unimpressed with what this place is becoming.
Waitress was on top of us with the check. The restaurant was relatively empty and it wasn’t like they needed to turn over the table. I was at a business lunch and she came over 4-5 times to see if the check had been paid while we were still having coffee and then after it was paid still kept coming by and lingering.
service was bad: one of our orders was wrong and it took the whole meal for them to bring the correct one. so, we were all done eating, by the time the wrong order came back to the table.
Yes with caution-a good amount of the menu was not available Wednesday afternoon including many of their signature items-they most likely were waiting on a food delivery but wish they had warned those with reservations because I probably would have gone elsewhere. The drink I ordered was not made properly and kind of undrinkable-they tried to fix it but I don’t think they knew how and didn’t really ask to make good on it. The service was very nice but not the greatest overall experience.
Sunday of Presidents Day weekend - very quite. Weeknight in FiDi would likely be noisy. Food was OK. Bar food. Dessert was big disappointment- lava cake was NOT lava cake. It was Chocolate mousse and white mousse covered in chocolate glaze. Mousse moon pie with a side of ice cream. Don’t call it lava cake. It wasn’t warm and it wasn’t oozing melted chocolate from within warm cake.
The Ainsworth is always a great place for some good food. Their short rib sandwich is to die for. It does tend to get a bit loud though so it doesn't make for an intimate meal.
A little noisy.
really great service and really great food would go back here again!
Save your money
If I could give no stars, it would be more accurate. I booked Ainsworth FiDi for a holiday lunch to thank my team for all of their hard work throughout the year. Our experience could not have been worse. We sat for at least 30 minutes before tap water was brought to our table, and over an hour before any food arrived. The appetizer I ordered for the table never appeared. One of the entrees was missing, and it took another 20 minutes for that team member to get his food. All of the rest of the dishes were cold. The server checked on us once the entire time before the food finally came out. I did not leave a tip - and, I'm not happy to say so - but the quality of the service was that terrible. Never again.
I had table reservation for my meeting, when I came I was told that they are closed for a private party. Nobody was sorry, they just said they can not help me. When I have confirmed table reservation I expect something else than “talk to the hand”.
Great place to watch an Ohio Star football game. Fun crowd of enthusiastic Buckeye fans.
Was nice for a team lunch but music was a bit too loud and rage-y for 1pm on a Monday. Food wasn't bad.
Just incredibly poor service.
Very prompt, courteous service.
It was great as always
This was formerly a great spot, now the service is atrocious, food is not good, and it has lost almost everything. It is unfortunate to see a “go to” restaurant go completely downhill.
Ok good and frendly service
Very noisy and it seemed that they want a bar crowd as opposed to a dinner crowd
It seemed like a hopping place with music and all, but the waitresses were not very attentive. Maybe they were new. It was very loud. They probably should have seated my husband and I in the quieter room or at least asked us.
My guest and I were pleased with our experience. I had to get the hosts attention as she was seated and reading something. Once seated, the atmosphere was welcoming (although a bit cold due to high AC). The server was attentive and professional and had appropriate level of eye contact. The food was good as I have not had a great burger in a while. It was cooked to my liking. My guest had the taco entrée and he mentioned it was appropriately not too spicy. The server did check with the chef regarding items that may contain soy as I have a food allergy. Green tea (hot) would be an ideal option to add to the menu as Early Grey was the only option. The dessert menu would be great to include sorbet especially during the hot summer. Overall, I would visit again for business or pleasure as I work/live in the area.
It’s hard to find a spot in New York that you can actually vibe with others and have a conversation without screaming to the top of your lungs that and then I found the Ainsworth. This place has a sultry vibe that’s great for lunch, drinks after work, and dinner. It’s always a tossup for me between the salmon and the mac & cheese burger – both are amazing!
The Ainsworth is great for brunch, lunch and dinner!! Their menus are delicious, and you will never be disappointed.
Food was sooooo gross. The nachos didn’t come with real cheese, they came with cheese sauce.
The guacamole tasted like it came out of can:(
I’m so sorry to hear about your visit with us David. The guacamole is homemade, so I’m disappointed to hear it wasn’t up to par. I am the new General Manager of the store, and would love to touch base to find out how to make your next experience a 100% better. Please don’t hesitate to call me at the store anytime Monday through Friday. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope you will give us a second chance to wow you!
Husband and I went here before checking out a movie one night after work.
For an appetizer, we split the spinach and artichoke dip; it was very good, and I believe they used mozzarella cheese, which I'm not used to eating in spinach and artichoke dip.
For my main course, I had the roasted chicken BLT with chipotle aioli, and french fries. The sandwich comes with red onions, which I had omitted but did add extra chipotle aioli. It was delicious. My husband ate the FiDi burger, which was a patty with onion rings, bacon jam and peppet jack, with french fries. He said it was delicious.
We didn't have dessert.
The bill, for the both of us and including a beer for my husband, came out to $54 and some change which I found very reasonable for the area, and for the amount of food that we had gotten.
However, if I were to come back, it would not be on a Friday. It was happy hour, and the crowd was incredibly loud. It was also very humid out that day, and just as humid inside. Like it took me absolutely forever to cool off. The AC is something they may wanna work on...
Thank you for your feedback Harlee! Glad you enjoyed your time with us. And yes, we have serviced the A/C.... it is hard when its so hot outside to cool, but we have been proactive with making sure they are ready to cool down the guests from that sweltering heat. Next time you’re in, please ask for the General Manager- I’d love to introduce myself personally. Enjoy this extremely hot weekend, and come in to cool off!
It was cool but it wasn’t the best. I been to better bars. The food was just ok. The best part was that they had TVs all over that you can see from every angle
Afternoon Tricia. We do pride ourselves on all the tvs available, especially the ones on ceiling in the back. I’d love to take your experience with us from cool to amazing! Our food is usually on point, so I apologize if we had an off day. Please ask for me next time you’re in; I’m the new General Manager, and I look forward to personally being in touch with all our guests - including those I’ve reached out to online. Let’s make your next time in with us the best ever!
Tables way too close in the front against the wall. Soo loud you can barely hear conversation.
Food was good, but service was not as good as my last visit. Our waitress was not very attentive to our simple requests and it wasn't even crowded. I needed a different salad dressing (first dressing had no flavor) and sugar. She finally brought me the dressing, but I ended up getting sugar from the bus boy! I couldn't drink or eat my salad until the end of my meal. I hope she was just having an off day.
The hostess was really helpful and accommodating to our requests with a big party who was there for a happy hour then drinks. thank you!
Went here for a business lunch with a client.
I made a reservation for 11AM
When we arrived we were informed the kitchen wouldn’t be open until 11:30am and they couldn’t seat us at the time.
Not the best look for a client meeting
