   No acknowledgement of our Anniversary. New owners as of 10 days ago. Lemon Drop Martinis need a sugar rim and it was bland. My pasta was delicious, as was the Caesar salad. A number of typos on the menu. Needs to be proofread before more copies are made.

   The new owner informed us that it had been 6 days since he took ownership. He was open and honest and made a point to check in with customers to inquire about their experience. We pre-booked as part of Arizona Restaurant Week. They were unable to review reservations due to computer issues. However, we were seated within 10 minutes. The borrata and grilled artichoke appetizers were excellent. The eggplant parmesan was well-prepared and a healthy serving. The salmon with artichokes was very good. We had tiramisu and zabaglione for dessert which were excellent. The service was a bit disorganized as it seemed the staff were new and learning the menu. Would go back in a few months when they get their act together. The ambience was not Back East Italian as expected.

   It's difficult to write this review, because, as we were told while there, the restaurant had changed hands within the past couple of weeks. Our experience was pretty dismal and we won't be back, but who knows how they might perform in a few months. We had reservations for 6:15 and went to the restaurant early to have a glass of wine at the bar. The bar is fairly small and was packed, so we went somewhere else for a glass of wine. We got back a minute or two after 6:15 and were told they weren't sure when we'd be able to be seated. We had requested a booth and one appeared to be close to opening up, but we weren't seated until after 7:00. The main negative, however, was in the Restaurant Week menu. It wasn't the same as what we had seen on line. The food we got was good, but the entrée for which this restaurant was chosen wasn't available. Not much reason was given other than the place had changed hands. There are some distinct issues that this establishment will have to address.

   I had requested outdoor seating. When we got there, it looked really rundown and unappealing. We were told that there is a new owner and he only bought the restaurant a week ago. He agreed with my assessment of the outdoor space and said that he was planning to redo it. He was gracious and accommodating and seated us indoors. Most of my party of six are from New York and some of us are Italians. The description of the food was what led me to try it. Although it was good, it wasn’t really like homemade NY Italian food. The one exception was the pizza. That was authentic. The decor and ambiance also need work. It worked out fine but I wish I had known ahead of time that the NY Italian owners had sold the place. Sounds like it’s a work in progress right now. Good luck to the new owners. Hope it works out for you.

   Old new owners have taken over. Menu limited not a full menu. Service slow. Owner and wait staff dressed poorly. Most wearing ball caps. Some items were not as described. Suppose to be peas and prosciutto and was mushrooms. Didn’t tell us just served it. Very old decor and was not clean. We will not be returning

   New ownership changed what made Aiello’s successful. Service staff dressed in jeans and baseball cap or hair in a bun. The bread offered was not good. Stale with a strange mixture on the side. Our meals we good but not 5stars. Sorry to say we probably won’t return.

    The food was impressive. We came during Restaurant Week so the menu was limited but good enough to make a tough decision on what to choose. Our choices were very well done. Compliments to the chef. Stuffed artichoke hearts to start we’re done with creativity snd did not disappoint Entrees and deserts were high level. This place in an unassuming neighborhood is worth the visit. From one Italian to another, bravo!
