What Insiders Are Saying
We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn't bad, but just isn't quite our style.
Very good food and a great service
Waitstaff is superb. Food is excellent. A very nice dining experience.
It deserves another Michelin Star.
Love the food and the presentation . Lunch was great value. Service was impeccable.
We had a great time at Ai Fiori, but was later informed that open table points don’t apply. No explanation, but advised to visit the community to get answers. Who has time and who decided?
Ai Fiori is not as good as usual. Too greasy. We are very disappointed with the food.
Everything was great but what we will remember best was the truly outstanding service. Exceptional!
Food was very good as was service, but a bit overpriced in my estimation compared to other high end restaurants. Enjoyed Ristorante Morini, part of the same restaurant group, more at less cost, although a more traditional menu. Thought the wine list was quite overpriced. Many of the labels are not well know so hard to compare prices with other restaurants. Still, we did enjoy the meal, as well as a breakfast we also had there.
Twice there and food is fabulous. Great spot, we’ll worth a visit
An excellent tasting menu with exquisite wine pairings, and above all a great service by very friendly and accommodating staff. Caviar service was also excellent and very reasonably priced. Cocktails were great too. Overall atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special experience.
Excellent food, we enjoyed pastel dishes and tomahawk. They have a very comprehensive wine list. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food portion is very generous.
Unfortunately I wasn’t impressed by food. I was more pleased by simpler and cheaper food in other places. However, the ambiance and service made me feel as a guest of Michelin star restaurant. That was a good experience!
Also, I really liked the variety of wines in the list!
The menu choices were varied and everything we tried was delicious. The service was wonderful.
It’s was ok, but not a Michelin!
An “Over the Top” experience as usual. The food, service and atmosphere is simply unequaled in NYC. We can’t seem to get enough of this restaurant !!!
Food and service both exceptional. Great wines by the glass menu..
As good as it gets here in NYC, and that’s no small accomplishment.
Michelin 1 star restaurant and the food was outstanding, presentation and blending of flavors were out of this world. $$ but worth the $ for that special occasion.
Highly civilized setting with delicious food and attentive service. Also and excellent wine list enhances the experience.
La comida y la ubicación son excelentes! Caro pero bueno vale la pena
Excellent food, the execution is always on point! Impeccable, and extensive wine list! A must for New York! Dined at Ai Fiori twice in 4 days!
Excellent Service and the food was outstanding! Wait staff friendly and very attentive to the details. Made our trip to New York City special.
ai fiori ? well in Italian that means "amongst the flowers" So I presume that is Italian right? barely. The place was beautiful and the service impeccable, maybe over the top. the food not so great. We were four with my wife and son and his wife and we debated what to have at length settling on octopus as appetizer which was tender, tasteful and delicious and was barely eatable because it was extremely over salted, but because we were so hungry we at it. Italian? bread was ok but not quality of what it should have been. My son had a lobster or fish soup of a sort which was tasty but too watery more like a bisque, no body or character let alone lobster. I wanted what was featured on the menu fois gras and my son said "in an italian reataurant?" and my response was if the feature it it must be good. to my surprise when it arrived it was pate, like a slice of liverwurst. I was expecting real fresh cooked fois gras, and certainly it was overpriced exponentially. My wife was craving pasta and she and my daughter- in- law ordered angioletti pasta which were only fair, minuscule portion and certainly of insufficient quantity to quell the disease of hypopastemia. When I was ordering I was inquiring about several things on the menu, dover sole, duck and halibut and how they were cooked, and everything the matre di described extensive seasonings and nuts on them. pistachio, pine. or other unnecessary condiments sometimes distorting and overwhelming the primary ingredient. Nuts? really? italian rarely cook primo and secondi with nuts. Check it out. I settled on the halibut which was delicious and about to redeem all other comitted sins, until discovering it was barely warm and almost stone COLD. They were kind enough to not charge for the octopus which after a kitchen conference concluded that it was indeed over salted. Despite this the bill approached almost 400$. It was good but doubt there will be an encore.
When You're Looking for a WONDERFUL meal
I chose this restaurant right after reading about a New York restaurant reviewer and admiring
her ability to identify fine preparations and distinctive flavors. I was worried that we "country mice" might get a bad table or less than stellar service, but I had nothing to worry about. My husband and I sampled each other's choices and were so impressed. The fois gras was melt in your mouth perfect. The spaghetti with blue crap a marvelous melange of flavors with perfectly al dente pasta, the lobster in butter sauce melt-in-your-mouth delicious. What can I say? It was such a perfect meal in a lovely room with quietly attentive service. If you want a special meal, choose this place.
Food was excellent, service was great.
Wine was delicous!
We didnt have room for desert!
The serving staff were top notch and personable- as a single diner I truly appreciate that they were very attentive and observant. Since this restaurant just won Wine Spectator Award for 2018 I let the server recommend/choose my wine selections to go with each dish. She was phenomenal. Her choices were delicious. I loved the Torta de Ceci and the Tagliata are scrumptious as are the Pommes Dauphin- yum, the Pommes Dauphin... Then desert- the Affogato with a few dram of Amaretto was perfection.
As always, exceptional elegant Italian restaurant, excellent food with very attentive service. The menu has classic dishes with appropriately sized portions
They should have turkey bacon. Very expensive. Lovely place.
Beautiful restaurant, but the food was not up to expectations of a michelin star. The lamb was lukewarm in a sauce that was already congealing when served. I expected more.
Ai Fiori has a great atmosphere. A very classy restaurant with an elegant bar area. The duck and risotto are recommended! Pre-main course: there are several breads offered. I would recommend any of them. Small dessert bites are offered at the end of your meal as well. Great for groups or intimate dinners.
Ridiculous. Delectable. Bold yet Classic. The beef loin and soft crab starter are a revelation.
Every course was an experience to remember. Dishes created exquisitely. Impeccable service
Delicious: the ippoglosso (fish) the agnolotti and the formaggio cake were outstanding. Great restaurant and location. Loved this place!
We were seated by our host and immediately attended by our waiter. From the explanation to the meal, each part of this experience was nothing short of perfect. Highly recomend.
Ai Fiori definitely deserves its Michelin star. We enjoyed our meal very much.
Great food & service, it’s beautiful & elegant place for dining.
Staff is tremendous-
Lovely place, extraordinary wine list, excellent service and very good food. Would have rated it as absolutely top, but earlier in the week we had eaten at another restaurant, which was a clear step up for food.
My Husband and I went to Ai Fiori for our wedding anniversary, the restaurant has a nice ambiance but it is not as romantic as we hoped as it reminds us of all hotel restaurants. The wine selection is excellent so we enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine, however we did not enjoy our food it was very bland and my food was cold when it arrived at my table which left much to be desired. Although we did not have a good food experience I will give the restaurant credit for the excellent wine menu.
The veal is a bit Americanized in flavor and size with a slight over abundance of fatty tissue. However, the lobster entree is commendable.
Everything, from the beginning of our dining experience to the end, was magnificent. Simply stunning food, service was immaculate, the wine pairings-superb!
Chef Scott Schneider is a master at his craft, and totally knocked our socks off.
Highly recommend for every occasion.
