What Insiders Are Saying
We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn't bad, but just isn't quite our style.
Happened upon this restaurant and was blown away with the incredible service, food and atmosphere. 5 stars all the way!
Ai Fiori, with its a cool, open, spacious dining room, was like an oasis on a hot summer day, with a perfect view overlooking Fifth Avenue. The Restaurant Week offerings included a cold seafood salad as an appetizer, which was very satisfying, and a small but tasty portion of roasted salmon over sautéed barley served with a green bean puree - an interesting way to dress up a very simple dish. There were some momentary lapses in the otherwise attentive service, including waiting too long for the waiter to serve bread, and providing a large soup spoon for a dessert of orange spongecake. I would come back again to sample some other items on the menu.
Service was excellent. We got the NYC Restaurant week menu which was delicious.
Food was not as expected. Service was terrible. We had to wait like a half hour between the appetizers and the entrees and not one waiter passed during this time to see if we needed anything. Our meal had no flavor, we had to ask for salt and pepper. Since they noticed we were uncomfortable, they took two glasses of wine off the check, which was nice, after all
Food was amazing. Ordered 2 course meal. Chicken was good. Good service. Highly recommended for friend gathering.
Nero Pasta Your signature dish was off. We sent it back and we told the executive chef is going to make a new plate. It was a little better but still not as were used to
Amazing food and service! Will definitely go again!
We went for lunch but will return for dinner.
Not sure we ordered the dishes that they excel at
Impeccably cooked seafood and perfectly seasoned pasta! Can’t ask for much more than that!
Top notch cuisine, excellent service , and attractive setting combine to make a perfect dining experience
This restaurant is always amazing. Everything about it is top notch.
Too little food; too little seasoning. Too pricey.
Too noisy for either business conversations or a date. Food is great but it's not fun when it's that loud. The restaurant can put in sound absorbent ceiling tiles, deeper carpeting, carpeting on the walls - all of which would dampen the noise level.
Salmon was very dry.
Spectacular meal, maybe our best ever here. Outstanding, attentive service paired with great Italian food and wine. Don't miss it.
I really recommend you to go to this restaurant because this restaurant gave us lovely foods, many kinds of wines, and a good customer experience. I have never experienced the staffs wrote a birthday card and gave gifts to my husband. I was really surprised. I will come again when I have the special day.
My sister, cousin, and I came for Restaurant Week. I ordered the chicken which was cooked well, but my sister and cousin ordered the salmon. They liked the salmon, but thought it could have been seasoned more. The staff was very accommodating (we had to push back our original time due to crazy traffic) and our waiter was very kind and attentive. This is a place I will come back to!
I've got special exceperience.
Nice to have lunch here. Seafoods are so fresh and tasty
Went there for the restaurant week with high expectations. Good service but food was very mediocre so we were all disappointed.
Food is good, not outstanding. Overpriced/Expensive. Perfect service. Good cocktails.
Ambiance too serious, not fancy at all. Would recommend for business meetings or 45/50 old people and above dates only.
I only knocked off one star on food because the item had barley in it which was not listed on the menu. I’m on a low carb diet and was surprised by the inclusion of grains
Went for Restaurant Week Lunch. Food was mediocre, but the service was excellent.
Hair came out from the dish.
We were just
We got the NYC Restaurant week menu which was delicious. I especially love the Salmon, taste was great!!! Service was excellent. It is really quite my style. I definitely will come again. I am highly recommended to my friends. Thank you.
Flawless. Luxurious, yet not pretentious. Gorgeous ambiance.
Absolute perfection from start to finish.
This restaurant deserves nothing less than five stars! Went for restaurant week lunch and the food was unbelievable. Unfortunately the experience ended up a little stuffy, as I found the service to be a little stifling. I had a hard time turning my head without being asked if everything was ok-- which of course it was! I know it's unfair to say- but the service was almost too good! Only the wonderful woman serving us bread had any sense of humor to offer as we joked about how much bread we were letting ourselves eat. It was also unfortunate that we were there on a rainy day, as it lended the everything-has-to-be-grey decor to be entirely drab. Thank god for the landscaper though! The flowers were gorgeous.
I had corn soup, salmon, and the torta for dessert. The food was spectacular, I kind of can't believe we got it at such an affordable price at such a great restaurant. Will definitely check out the restaurant week menu again next time! Also great price on specialty cocktails and wines for restaurant week. Spectacular!
The menu was too salted.
Very disappointed. Live in area, coming for years, this time service por. Dirty dishes on table for 10 minutes. Many waiters, but our table ignored. Food not deserving Michelin star, nor $105 pre fixe. Last time we'll go, too many excellent restaurants in New York.
Excellent all around! Had breakfast the next morning and was also excellent! Top notch!!!
a fantastic restaurant offering incredible pastas, amazing desserts and the service it top, top, all the way. The bar is also fantastic and bartenders most professional and helpful at the same time
I love this spot.
Had to send back my salmon twice. Requested it cooked through and got it seared twice and it was very fishy tasting didn't taste fresh.
My experience was not that great. Went for lunch during the retaurant week. The atmosphere was great and the people there were nice and helpful. However the food was just ordinary. Nothing special, below average taste. The spaghetti was the worst. I was not satisfied.
Great place.Good view.I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.Everyone loved the here.Service was well-timed and friendly.
Great Experience. The ambiance is beautiful such a pretty decor and tableware. The food was great and the drinks were well balanced. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back. Michelangelo one of the Captains there made it extra special. He embodied what Hospitality is all about. Thank you for taking the time to talk to us and for being so nice.
The food is good, not great. I was disappointed. I’m wondering if it was because it was restaurant week. This is the group you should dazzle if you want new customers.
Outstanding! Be prepared to experience unique tastes. Wonderful wine pairing by the staff sommelier.
Love Ai Fiori.
