What Insiders Are Saying
We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn't bad, but just isn't quite our style.
The gluten free pasta is homemade and amazing ! This is always my go to for Italian food in the area. I love the vegetarian options and the staff is always very knowledgeable and accommodating.
It was a quite good experience. The price is a little bit high but the food is worth the price. The environment is awesome.
Great food. Great wine. Great restaurant. Had a great time.
Great restaurant with impeccable service and stellar wine list.
It was very very good and nice dinner
A wonderful 50th birthday dinner — I ordered a cake in advance, and it was spectacular, as was the food, service and ambiance. Ai Fiori’s front of the house team was welcoming, professional, and kind to my guest with dietary restrictions. We would go back for another special occasion. Def recommend.
Our main course had a piece of plastic in it, had to return it. They took it off our check, but the way they dealt with it was not commensurate with a Michelin Star Restaurant.
Service is ok, but people bringing food can’t pronounce of name the food they are bringing, forget about any follow up questions to them - ether no answer or something you can’t decipher at all.
Where do I begin? Beautiful lovely staff and wonderful food. Tasting menu leaves you very full and you can try a little bit of everything they have to offer. Extensive wine menu offerings. 5-star experience.
Walked in with high expectations. Hostesses were extremely pleasant and professional. Service on the floor left a lot to be desired. Was pretty much reprimanded by the captain for speaking quietly when placing drink order. Went with TravelZoo voucher for 7-course tasting menu, and wondered if experience would’ve been better if we didn’t have said voucher. Regular wine pairing and sommelier selection wine pairing was differentiated in the fact that they served from bottles ranging between 100-150 for regular and 250+ for sommelier select, but no other difference except price point. Food was awesome (amuse bouche, foie gras torchon, octopus, ravioli, halibut, steak, cheese, intermezzo, dessert). Wines were great with the exception of the very generic descriptions of each wine (basic origin, always ‘great producer’, when nothing else to talk about mentioned vintage). Just lackluster service from captain and sommelier. Again, had high expectations for Michelin restaurant. Perhaps our fault for bringing voucher.
Excellent dining experience . Wonderful service staff.
Excellent meal, excellent service- We truly enjoyed everything about our experience.
Food is very good, but not truly exceptional. Best are the pastas. Always rich, flavorful and just the right texture. The scallop crudo appetizer was excellent. Desserts were OK. Service is very attentive, friendly and not stuffy. Nouse level is more than acceptable for goid conversation, but tables can be a bit close. A bit oricey, but you cone away feeling you had a good experience.
Excellent Italian-inspired and elegant restaurant, very attentive service, seasonal variations to the menu and great wine selection .
Amazing food and service!
Visiting this place is always a way to get dressed). The food is served the best way but its not outstanding for my taste.
I had an excellent meal (Italian fare) but my wife was disappointed in her choices. It is expensive but no more so than any good restaurant in NYC.
23rd anniversary dinner, and the experience was amazing. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted delicious, service was top notch while understated. We got a wonderful gift with a card signed by all the staff, it was beyond our expectations. A true Michelin star experience!
The table seating was a little crowded with a table for 2 sitting between other tables. The larger tables seem to have more room. Ambiance was very nice and service was good although for the price I certainly expected a little more attention. The tasting menu was delicious and 7 small portions was just enough to be full. The pasta course was by far the best. Regular coffee was not included and certainly was not worth the price. I would say overall the value was less compared with other similar restaurants. Dress was classy to business casual with only 2 men wearing jackets and no one with ties. So despite the little picky items noted, overall it’s a great restaurant with delicious food if you’re willing to pay a little extra.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Dessert took a little longer than expected but our wait staff made up for it with a complimentary glass of port to accompany it. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Service was too snooty and unfriendly; the food was good but not special; had a terrific bottle of wine for $150
Overall a great night. Maitre D was a little cocky, but all came to a good ending. 7 course dinner was a 9. Wine was a 10.
Overall Place is great and worth coming back although I’m not sure I’d give it the MStar rating they’ve accomplished based on our experience.
Don’t get me wrong, place is nice and food was good, but the expectations I believe one should have for a place achieving such high marks by the industry itself lead me to feel when I leave, it should be memorable enough that I clearly recall all the servings and more importantly, am going to tell everyone I know they should check out this place for an amazing experience... neither of which holds true for myself nor my 13 year old son (who does in fact have a pretty stellar pallet).
If your local to this spot and looking for a fantastic date night, business dinner and dining experience, your not going wrong by coming here. But if your considering a special trip, I’d probably consider other options.
My favorite place for spaghettis
Without a doubt our best and most favorite restaurant ever. We had just celebrated our anniversary, had celebrated there some 5 years ago to an amazing meal. Was anxious to go back How can perfection happen twice. Well it did. From the moment we were greeted to the sevice, to the absolutely most delicious meal ever. We will be back. Thank you all so much. Expecially John.
Elegant, delicious food, fast service. Ambiance was terrific. Would definitely come back again for the other menus
It was just ok. It’s supposed to have gotten a Michelin star. The food was cooked ok, just not that exciting or imaginative.
My experience: I arrived was greeted and sat at my table. They give me bread that is not warm and a bit dry. Meh. Butter is at least spreadable. Good. Amuse bouche. Wonderful! I had high hopes at this point. First course soup with 4 “coins” of lobster. It’s ok. Second course veal tortellini. Sauce is good. Otherwise unexciting. Third course meat dish vitello. Bleh. So boring. Kind of tough meat. Nothing whatever interesting. For dessert the Budino. Acceptable.
Overall. Not really worth the price. That being said, the waitstaff and service in general was up to standard for this caliber of restaurant. The ambience pleasant. The food presentation, somewhat thoughtful.
Every accommodation for diet
Good service but very ill equipped at payment time
Three time over mistake and embarrassing
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Ai Fiori. We had very early reservations but the staff was very accommodating and attentive. The service was impeccable and the food superb! My only complaint is that (as many restaurants do) the tables afforded to open table reservations tend to be the worst in the restaurant.
El pan estaba muy duro. El resto de mi comida buena
The food, oh my, the food. Impeccable. Topped with heaps of fine service and ambiance. Stop what you are doing. Go. Now.
Our dinner was exceptional as always. Loved the fresh pea soup. The Risotto and Scallop entrees were also superb. Definitely will continue to recommend to friends.
Tried their tasting menu. Amazing food with moderate service in a langham Hotel. Expected more smiles but overall experience is good.
We had 7 course tasting menu. I t was really amazing. Every course was delicious. huge wine list, too big for most guests. Very impressive to say the least. Service was very good as well. Only negative about the service was that they did not decant our wine. We didn't ask for it but others had their wine decanted.
We all ordered the 4-course Prix-Fixe menu. The antipasti were good, the pasta was terrific, and both the entree and dessert were fantastic! The only letdown was the service, which was wonky (for lack of a better word). For 3 of the 4 courses, our plates were mixed up (the right items were ordered, but the wrong plates were served to the wrong people). The sommelier was terrific, but the front waiter for the table kept hovering and apologizing for the plating mishaps. I wouldn't normally be so critical, but when you're spending upwards of $300 per person, these kinds of things throw the dinner and the occasion off balance, and can make things a bit awkward, pausing conversations, and making us, the diner, focus on what the service staff is doing, instead of enjoying the meal and our company. We were only 5 guests, so I would be wary if coming in with a large party of say, 10 or more.
There for my daughter’s 16th Birthday. The staff was wonderful; making her feel so special. They brought out a beautiful dessert for her with her name written on it, and she received a gift bag at the end of the meal. It included homemade Carmel corn, chocolate nuts, a copy of the menu signed by the chef, and a card signed by the staff. Truly first rate service!
The food and service were excellent, but the wine list could be better for those who don't own hedge funds or want to take out a home equity loan. The veal chop was the best I've eaten, and the squid ink pasta was very tasty but skimpy on the seafood.
Our servers were delightful.
My husband and I had a fabulous dinner here before heading to the theatre.
Drinks at the bar which were very good.
Special thanks to Jack Shea! We had a wonderful experience and tasted a variety of superb dishes.
Loved everything about it.
