We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn't bad, but just isn't quite our style.

We partner with The Infatuation to bring you their smart, helpful, trustworthy reviews of restaurants on OpenTable.

Visited Ai Fiori whilst in New York, and from start to finish it was a classy experience. Great service, amazing wine list, delicious food, fully deserving of its Michelin Star.

One of the best meals in NYC. The sears scallops and truffle pasta were the best. We’re definitely going back.

I really enjoyed the location, service, quality of the food and ambiance. The spaghetti was out of this world. I was so impressed that I went back to the restaurant two nights in a row and everyone loved the food.

Our reservation was at 7 pm, but our food did not arrive until almost 9 pm. The food was disappointing. There was a table with a crying baby near us. The women’s restroom was a disaster zone, and we found a living spider in one of our dishes. Service was slow. We had to ask three times for everything.

We were not charged for the dinner, which was supposed to be a 65th Birthday celebration.

I was expecting one thing a experienced another. It was good but not great and that's the easiest way to explain it. It was elegant and a lovely room but it's a hotel restaurant to me as well as a tourist location. I would just as soon go to Lupa and feel the Italian spirit more closely.

My husband and I experienced our first Michelin star restaurant for our anniversary in NYC, and it was absolutely worth every minute and every dollar. The wine list was excellent; I'm sure you can not make a bad choice. The chef prepared a warm welcome and an outstanding meal. Service was unprecedented. We felt like every need was anticipated and met promptly. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Service was slow. They also gave us the wrong food (someone else’s half eaten food!) for takeaway. It’s a shame because we have had good experiences here in the past and the food is excellent.

Excellent! Found on Open Table so it was strictly a shot in the dark. Beautiful place, fabulous food and excellent wine list. Michelin star well earned! Would definitely go again. Be ready to shell out some cash but sooooo worth it!

It's been awhile since the last time I was impressed with the quality and taste of the food a restaurant serves. We were all impressed with what we ordered. The food is excellent and the staff is very attentive and friendly. This is not hype. It's really good for a change. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful evening where I hosted my daughters, a bride-to be and her bridesmaids.
The food was outstanding as always. Michael White is the brides favorite chef, and he comes through every time.
Thanks you to the staff and Chef White.

This was not our first meal at Ai Fiori, but is will absolutely be our last.
We've eaten at fine restaurants around the globe, San Francisco, Rome, London, Hong Kong,
Bangkok, and have not had an experience like this before. Our waitress couldn't be bothered to attend to our needs. My wife's meal was served at the incorrect temperature, which can happen even at a Michelin star restaurant. But when we asked , after 15 minutes if her meal was ready, she turned her back and went to attend to another table. The other's of us at the table were incredulous that she had no interest in exploring why her meal hadn't;\'t been returned. The local supervisor answered a request of mine with the response"this is a business you know". This was just a despicable level of service from a restaurant of this price.
I guess I understood why there were a number of empty tables at 7:45 PM on Saturday night.
It was interesting, that the bus boy attending to our table tried to apologize when he saw the treatment we received.

I'd make another choice if you were considering a special occasion meal at Ai Fiori.
There are many fine restaurants in New York City. There's no excuse for the kind of service we received.
Stay away!!~!

What a disappointment...
Was expecting so much more from Michael White, who is an amazing chef, Marea is one of our favorites so thought we’d try Ai Fiori. We went for the white truffles and was shocked to find our pasta stuck (actually cooked) together, major screw up from this level of restaurant. We all left very disappointed and won’t ever be going back. Seems like their many focus are the hotel guests from other countries who have little culinary knowledge.

The food was good here. However the service was bad, really bad. It's an upscale restaurant and not too busy when I went. I was on my way out of the restaurant and fell while walking. I hit my knee and was bending down for at least one minute. Waiters walk by me multiple times and no one stoped to ask me if I was ok. Like seriously?

Best pasta I ever had - blue crab with a hint of pepper. Perfect portion size for business lunch. Hazelnut cream-filled pastry for dessert was a delightful bookend to an amazing lunch. Beautiful decor. Low-key but upscale ambiance. Professional wait-staff. Highly recommend it!

Disappointing! Was excited to try chef Michael White’s food here but not even close to what he serves at Marea. Service was terribly slow....sat at the table forever without being offered a slice of bread. Waiter who took our order uninformed and had no personality. Will not go back.

Chef Michael White has always impressed by delivering fresh creative Italian cuisine with a Venitian flair and sublime service, which is why Ai Fiori is one of my favorites in New York. People know more about his other restaurants but this one is definitely worth seeking out as it is truly a hidden gem, the food and experience are totally tops, and I highly recommend it and cannot wait to eat there again!

Visiting from Portland, Oregon. Restaurant is in very nice building and has a good vibe inside. Menu simplified things with tasting menu options which were perfectly laid out and portions were large. Highly recommend for a nice dinner out or even a special occasion. Pastas were great, fish dishes were cooked perfectly with creative sides and overall evening was fantastic. Highly recommend, can’t find anything to complain about at all. Enjoy.
