What Insiders Are Saying
We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn't bad, but just isn't quite our style.
Love this place. Food and ambiance is great. We were not rushed, and had lots of attention from the staff from the moment we walked in.
Michelin-star dining experience. Superb.
Lovely setting in the Langham Hotel with a nice bar outside the restaurant where we had drinks. The staff was friendly and accommodating and "on their game". Food was delicious - I had the lamb and recommend it. The wrap-around windows provide wonderful views of the city.
Food was excellent. Service was great.
We had a really nice time, we enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to others
the blue crab spaghetti was not freshly cooked and a bit over seasoned- they just reheated it and some parts were still cold. waitress was extremely rude and not welcoming. overall overrated.
10/10 would recommend
The service was inattentive.
I ordered the duck pate which was a stringy mess full of nuts and pieces of fruit and other unrecognizable bits.
It was awful and basically tasteless.
I ordered the short rib and am not exaggerating to say that one rib plus a bone was served. It was mostly pure fat and was the equivalent of one small mouthful of meat.
I have been there three times and will never go back.
service is poor and slow. But I still leave 20% tip. Just because I’m a kind person.
As always they did not disappoint!!!
I appeared, was seated and the waiter appeared and soon took my order. All went well.
I LOVE Ai Fiori... and ALWAYS look forward to a meal here...every single thing is attentively worked on to perfection.....I dont know which area is best but I must say that the extraordinary service and the much more than pleasant attitude of ALL staff really makes every meal even better....never even one small disappointment......Ai Fiori is one of my very favorite restaurants in NYC! Many thanks for yet another special afternoon!
Fabulous service and food, great location!
We love this restaurant for our special occasions and certainly enjoy that they participate in restaurant weeks as well.
Food was excellent and the service was attentive. I would recommend and return.
Love the interior. Food was clean but nothing memorable
I was Happy to spend time here!
Food is very bad so disappointed... It's like bad Michelin star ever
Came for my bday during restaurant week. The ambiance is very classy. The food was delicious. Service was professional and friendly. I do recommend this restaurant for special occasion or business meal.
Horrible experience. Wine tasting was the worst I have ever experienced. Horrible and slow service!
Wonderful dining experience before heading to the opera.
We had a memorable meal here . Both of us ordered the four course prix fixe dinner @ $108 and everything we had was outstanding! Fabulous lobster bisque and the breast of duck was the best ever - perfectly cooked at medium rare. By all means order the chocciletto dessert - it is not overly thick with chocolate and just melts in your mouth. - fabulous!
Ok Italian food nothing special desserts were disappointing
Wonderful for a special occasion. A great prix fix menu. Food is presented beautifully and tastes extraordinary.
Food was excellent as always, but the server was too rush, no patience, got my friend’s order wrong 2times, 1st time missing order, and then he add on, but bring up the wrong order. Overall, it was great, food was delicious as always, and nice environment as always!
I went to the restaurant because I love Marea and Osteria Morini (who are from the same group) but the Ai Fiori is too far from meeting the expectations of a Michelin Star restaurant.
I tried the Restaurant Week Menu - my appetizer (duck pate) came messy and tasteless; the second dish (risotto with truffles) was saltless and tasteless - no truffle flavor at all.
Beside me was a table where a couple had ordered a Salmon. So, first they're asked to change since their plate was cold, after that the waiter brought another salmon and the woman again complained about the dish, but even so she started to eat - while she eating the salmon she spat pieces of thorns. She complained again and left the restaurant without eat anything!!!Apparently it was not just me who did not like the food!
I hope you guys improve the quality of food. Nice restaurant, poor food.
We went during Restaurant Week and had a very sub-standard meal for a restaurant which is meant to have a Michelin star. For starter: the soup was good, the terrine was bland. For main: the short rib was cold and tough whilst the pasta was fine but nothing exceptional. For the money, it was fine but as a show case for what the restaurant could do, I was incredibly disappointed.
Overall the ambience was great, but the food was lukewarm/cold - i imagine due to it being restaurant week they prepare all the same meals, but would have appreciated it the food was served hot. In that regard, quite disappointing.
AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!$$!
The food was nothing special nor tasty. It doesn’t worth the value. The environment made people feel uncomfortable, very noisy. The waitress was not very polite: Rush us on ordering, and keep coming back to check on us with the bills.
It was not a pleasant experience at all. Very disappointed, will never go again nor recommend to anyone
Restaurant week menu. Beautiful environment. The pasta is good.
For our first visit we tried a lunch during restaurant week.
The menu was interesting and we did view it in advance.
We both had the duck pate which was delicious and unusual.
The toasted bread was so crisp that it was difficult to bite.
The mustard was less than a quarter sized dollop for the
generous slice of pate.
We both had the short ribs. One tiny piece of meat.
Lots of grizzle & bone but not much meat.
It was tasty but gone in a flash. It was maybe the size of one baby lamb chop eye.
I realize this is lunch but the two bites were really skimpy.
Desert was nice but we were already thinking of where to stop and have a bite.
Sorry. If you participate in restaurant week the expectation of this diner is for
you to put your best food forward which included portion size..
Very exquisite tastes and impeccable service.
do not go during restaurant week. Portions were tiny. We all left needing more to eat. the dessert was thumb sized and not worth the money.
Beautiful, elegant setting and conducive to quiet conversation but the food is very mediocre. Had 2 courses for Restaurant Week, salad and salmon. Neither was outstanding. Service was very attentive, particularly after I questioned having no rolls or bread choices, waiter brought basket of breakfast muffins.
The food and service is always excellent. Our only complaint was that three of the four hot entrees served were room temperature. The pasta dish was the only one that was hot.
Pasta was on point but rest of dish was little bland.
great service with good food!
Marea & Ai fiori ❤
Food very good.
Setting very nice.
BORING! Grandma from the 50’s food.
