What Insiders Are Saying
We typically love ourselves some Michael White. Though his new hotel restaurant Ai Fiori is a sprawling space with more room than they know what to do with. Set inside The Setai, this is a bit of a cookie cutter hotel restaurant - one that isn't bad, but just isn't quite our style.
This restaurant is very upscale with very professional and friendly staff. My request for a table by a window was fulfilled. The dining room is beautiful. We had the 7 course chef tasting menu. Every dish was prepared perfectly. The timing between courses was paced just right.
Perfect birthday dinner!
We have eaten at this restaurant several times. In he past the food and service were great. This time the service was bad. I had to ask 3 times to have bread brought to the table. The waiter asked if I wanted a wine list and left it on the table. Before I had a chance to look at it another waiter came by and said do you need this and took it away before I could answer. I also had to request a Coca Cola 3 times.
Very professional service, well structured and diverse wine offerings, food was delightful. Definitely a “keeper”!!!
Lovely all around.
Everything was exceptional, can't wait to return! The wine list is great and I love the prefix option!
They never disappoint, every time I visit there. Love it !
A perfect birthday meal for my wife. Will be returning.
The regular 7 course meal was v good. The vegetarian option was disappointing - every dish had mushrooms and was extremely carb heavy and. Barely any vegetables other than mushrooms ...
Excellent food, rich and done in French style. Staff was attentive but not intrusive. Only regret is the restaurant not partnering better with Open Table to ensure program cooperation.
We had a wonderful dinner. The food and service were excellent, and the ambiance was perfect for the occasion. Will return.
Ai Fiori is a terrific restaurant. The food and service are 5 star. That said, the cost is prohibitive. I would love to see the quality balanced by a more realistic price point. I recognize that if patrons are paying this fare then it is deemed a fair price, but it is difficult to swallow the markup on the wine, cheese, etc. Please revisit some of the margins to exclude patrons who would only visit for special occasions or with a corporate account.
Food leaves much to be desired, but the service makes up for that.
Excellent food, attentive and friendly service, beautiful ambience. Would definitely recommend it.
Outstanding. This has become our favorite restaurant in New York. The food selection is excellent and comparable in cost to other high quality restaurant in the city The service is definitely a cut above others and it reflects in the attention given to the clientele.
We had 7-course dinner on Sunday with a coupon discount.
The overall food and experience was decent to celebrate anniversary dinner. Foods were well prepared and a dessert with "Happy Anniversary" chocolate was an impressive detail. (They also gave complimentary dessert wine for two.)
However, the whole dinner took 2 and a half hours from sitting to payment. To enjoy 7 course dinner, I would recommend to take reservation in early evening (5:30PM).
Ai Fiori provides a very nice dining experience, but the high prices are not matched by similarly high quality in the cuisine. The food was very good, but not excellent. The staff was friendly and professional, but at times were slow, and while the sharing of service responsibility kept food coming on time, it was confusing as I wasn't sure who to reach out to if I had a question.
While I would never turn down an invitation to dine at Ai Fiori, there are better places to spend the amount of money you will lay out for dinner here.
Fantastic service for a romantic evening. Food was splendid. The staff went above and beyond my expectations to make this anniversary dinner with my girlfriend and I a special one
Spectacular as usual!!
Wonderful restaurant.. I can’t wait to go back for my 4th visit.
Loved the food
Loved the staff
Loved the atmosphere
Can't wait to go back
I’ve heard wonderful things about Ai Fiori yet my experience was sadly disappointing. The service was not attentive. Once done with our entree dishes there was no one around to take the plates for over 30 min. The staff was busy but we completely felt ignored, nobody checked on us and this is definitely not acceptable in great restaurants as this one strives to be. My lobster was undercooked on top of it. Pastas were great. Entrees not so much.
Our waitress was great, good table beautiful restaurant but very expensive! Especially the drinks!
Great food & service!
The only downside was the difference in service we received and I think it was because of our age and because several staff made it seem like we did not belong, however, other than that the food was great. I would just tell the staff that no matter who walks in, be it a 20 year old, or a senior, if they are dining there it's because they can afford it and treatment should be equal.
El servicio excelente y la comida muy buena.
the four course prix fixe was terrific, highlighted by the Trofie Nero.
This is a perfect place in NYC. Great and creative menu of drinks, food is exquisite at the level of 10 Michelin stars, and the staff is welcoming from the second you step in. The decor is delicate and inviting. I highly recommend this place for special occasion and anytime you want to give your palate a great experience.
The waiter did not hear a word I said. I told him I was a vegan and I would love to get pasta and marinara or tomato sauce. Easy right? He came back with this horrible creamy buttery sauce that did not contain one tomato. It was horrible. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone!
The food was average at best and lacked seasoning. The pasta course saved the evening. The diver sole for 2 is really a single portion at any other restaurant but is divided for 2 people at ai fiori. Our server was absent for the majority of the evening and management had to step in. The dining room was impressive and the management could not be any better, especially Devora.
Unfortunately the worst blunder I have ever experienced was during my meal here. The waiter touched me quite firmly as if we were old friends while saying "Well we will have to get you back here." I used to be a sous chef, if any of my servers ever touched one of the customers even in a flirtatious manner I would be having words mid service. The food was fantastic and the food runners were on point even though one or two were obviously new. Would return again
It was my first time dining at the restaurant. My friend was in town and I had wanted to try this place for a long time. Our service started amazing and than went down the hill. It was a very long time to get our entrees and no one was around for us to inquire what happened or apologized for the delay. We ordered 6 glasses of wine in total and when I thought I requested specific wines and knew the prices that were stated, I was told in the end that there are 2 prices and mine were at the higher price (bigger portion that I did not ask for). So, instead of paying $24/$25 per glass I ended up paying $39 per glass. I do not mind paying this much for a wine when I am out on romantic date with my husband. But, this should of been mentioned upfront. Very disappointed. I will not be back.
Absolutely amazing experience as we have been here before - this is our second time. Wonderful service and hospitality beyond belief. Jon K. was amazing and the general manager, Eliza, were very helpful ! Love the place and will come back again!
Beautiful ambiance, excellent service and attention to detail. Would definitely come again!
Outstanding restaurant. This was a second time at the restaurant in the past several months and it has become one of our favorite places to dine. The ambiance is excellent and matches the attentiveness of the staff. A truly fine dining experience surpassing the expected quality of fine in one of New York City's best dining options
Attentive and quick. Food is always delicious
Ai Fiori has become a favorite special occasion restaurant. Each time we bring someone new, it becomes a favorite of theirs. We are already looking forward to the next reason to celebrate.
The food is excellent, portions are small.
The side bread is amazing
Excellent food and service! .............
