Agua Viva is one of the flagship restaurants in Chef José Andrés’s collection at Conrad Los Angeles. At this chic rooftop restaurant, Chef Andrés effortlessly weaves vibrant Asian flavors with Latin American influences, all while paying homage to his home country of Spain.

Our menu features diverse global flavors that reflect the true melting pot of LA. Designed to be shared, our dishes are as eye-catching as they are vibrant, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. As you decompress in our breezy dining room, enjoy sparkling platters of oysters; a bright, refreshing Young Coconut Ceviche studded with avocado and mango; Chef Andrés’s iconic Txule Burger, made with dry-aged ribeye; and whole fried sea bream, with fresh herbs and mojo verde.

Located within Conrad Los Angeles, a part of the stunning Frank Gehry-designed The Grand LA, Agua Viva features a promenade, bar area, and upper and lower dining rooms with terrace views of the mountains.

We went for a pre-show dinner on a Saturday night, and it is very convenient to get to the Music Center. As others mention, it is a little hard to find, and we ran a bit late, but the staff at the restaurant was wonderfully accommodating. The place had a nice high design vibe and we were seated at a table with a spectacular view. There was a massive dance party going on downtown, so the noise level was pretty "lively." The crowd at the restaurant was mostly 40+ but some younger diners were also present. We ordered for the three of us the fried sea bream, carrot hummus and patates bravas. At first we ordered the grilled sea bream, but the waiter smartly warned us that it has a strong fish flavor, which I detest, and we were all happy with the milder fried version. At first we were not sure how to eat the whole fish, which was not fileted at the table, but then figured out that most of the flesh had been fried separately in pieces, served on the same plate. There was no side dish, only two dipping sauces, which seemed odd for a dish that cost $60+. The fish was tasty, but at that price, it should be mind blowing. Or enormous. It was neither. The carrot hummus wasn't really hummus, I don't think, at least not in the traditional sense of having a base of garbanzo beans. The server told us it was almond based, but also had tahini like traditional tahini. It also had what tasted like sweet roasted carrots and some spices. We enjoyed it, even if it wasn't especially memorable, and the portion was quite small. The potatoes were fine, although not really "brava" (spicy) at all. The server made sure we had our check in time to get to the show, and she could not have been kinder.

My current favorite rooftop restaurant. If you want a 100% guaranteed awesome outdoor experience for lunch, go to Agua Viva! It will not disappoint. I went for lunch time and the day was perfect for this spot. The food was delicious, the view was fantastic and the service was welcoming and fun! Our waitress had the best energy. I had the Ahi Poke Bowl and my friend had the Avocado Toast and we shared the Croquetas De Cangrejo and everything was super yummy! I had the pineapple sage mocktail which was refreshing and a great alternative to a cocktail since I went during my lunch time from work. I will be going back to this spot to try more food items and maybe even try it for dinner to experience the nighttime vibe.

The food was incredible, especially the acorn squash soup, and the mango chile peanut butter dessert. Tiffany, our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Even though it was a cooler evening, they had blankets and heaters which really made a difference. And not to mention the beautiful view we had of City Hall. Would definitely go again

We ate outside facing City Hall and loved the crisp pan con tomates, patatas bravas, the octopus 🐙 and the crab croquettes. With a large group, it is hard to fill up on smaller tapas plates but they are delicious. I like the ambience, the complimentary blankets and the service was excellent. Do bring you friends and family here when they visit LA!

Because of inclement weather, we were relocated to San Laurel, but the menu was from Agua Viva. We partook of the brunch menu and it was all good. The service was attentive. This is a good spot for pre-show dining if you are attending any of the Music Center venues.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at this restaurant. They made us feel exceptionally special. If there is a way I could give the waitress 10 stars , I would. One suggestion Would encourage a few plant based protein options to be added to the menu.

Agua Viva is one of my very favorite restaurants in the world. We were visiting LA from Ashland, OR for several weeks. I had my birthday celebration with you on January 3rd and returned 2 weeks later for a much-needed respite in the middle of a family crisis. The chefs provided us with such creativity, one plate being more delectable than the last. The ambiance is so very inviting and such a lovely outdoor venue. And the service is top notch. We felt so very well taken care of and my every need with 3 food allergies was graciously accommodated by Edwin. Thank you, thank you. I hope one day to be able to meet José Andres, who is one of my heroes. I so appreciate all the good he does in the world. Thank you to all of you who make the Agua Viva experience such a special one.

Love the outdoor ambience although a bit cool for an LA evening in winter - but the heaters really helped. Food was delicious. Cappucinos were not hot enough nor strong enough on first try but excellent on a rerun. Will return, especially when the wearther is a bit warmer

Pretty much the only thing this restaurant has going for it is the ambience. It’s adorably decorated and located on the rooftop of the Conrad so there are beautiful views of the city. We had a reservation and we checked in shortly after. Once we were seated, it took over 15 minutes for the server to come over to our table. No water or anything! In fact, I had to flag down the Hostess and let her know that no one had seen us. Drinks took unusually long to receive. Then I was shocked at the food sizes. I am all for small plates that have culinary style etc. but this was a little absurd. For $28 I got what looks like one scrambled egg two pieces of bacon and maybe five little chunks of potato. I thought it was a children’s meal! At least it did taste good! If you go here for the views, I would suggest ordering your drink from the bar before you sit down and maybe just stick to a couple appetizers!

Interior decor was beautiful. We expected higher quality food. We ordered the lobster sandwich with fries, crab fritters. The fries reminded us of mcdonalds and the ketchup tasted like heinz. The crab fritters was mushy with a lot of sauce, we could not really taste the crab meat. The lobster sandwich had a lot of mayo. For the price and the hype about the chef, we expected better.

Quality of the ingredients and preparation of the food is outstanding. Unfortunately there were 2 negatives. 1) Very poor service from our waitress. 2) they were out of the only Spanish beer they list, then ran out of one of the few Spanish red wines they had by the glass. Amazing they carried so little inventory during the holidays.

It was exactly what we were hoping our experience would be from what we saw online. The restaurant closes at 6:30pm, so be sure to get there early. The earlier, the better, since it is an outdoor dining experience. They do have heaters and hand out blankets. Fabulous place to stop before going to LA Phil performance!

The outdoor setting was lovely, but I was very disappointed with the food. I’ve visited outstanding Chef Andres’ restaurants in Washington, D.C., but unfortunately this one did not measure up. Although we ordered multiple appetizers and entrees for our party of seven, the food was mediocre at best and no left satiated. Uninspired selections, flavors, and presentation. The service was slow and spotty as the lunchtime crowd drifted in. A really beautiful setting in DTLA, but would not consider a return visit because the food was definitely not up to par.
