Service was good and the outdoor table was very nice. The food was o.k.
Service was really not great, and the food was mediocre
I frequent Agua 301 and enjoy the food. Roger, the manager, was EXCELLENT! There was a slight mixup with my reservation due to miscommunication and he was kind enough to offer myself and my guest a drink for the scare. THAT is customer service.
Not sure what was happening at this place, but we made a reservation for 3 at 8:30 p.m., were not seated until near 8:45/8:50 p.m. Our dinner, which we ordered promptly upon sitting down and receiving our drinks, (each of us got taco's) did not arrive until after 10 p.m. Multiple tables around us were similarly not served their meals for far too long after ordering, and we were not offered any sort of discount, or anything though we heard the table next to us offered 50% off their entire meal. The food was fine, but not enough to make me want to return after this experience.
Servers were efficient, friendly and very accommodating - Caroline and her trainee, Julian were amazing
Margaritas were a disappointment - lacked the balance and flavor of good ingredients and, at 12 dollar a pop, best to be left alone.
This place was amazing! The food was good and the food came so quick! Loved everything about it and everyone was really nice there ☺️
Food was great!!! I especially loved the whitefish ceviche. The views from the patio are very appealing and the prices were inline with what you'd expect from a place if this quality. I will definitely will be back!!
Loud patrons. Everything else was ok. Good customer service.
Service was lacking.
Great food and ambience our server Ashley was the best!
Our waitress was absolutely amazing. Personal service that made us feel like we were visiting an old friend in their home. The food was fantastic and the drinks superb. A great value for the price. 10/10 would return.
I usually don't write reviews but this time, it seems necessary. I have been here periodically since it opened several years ago. The food quality has declined significantly. Guacamole serving used to be more substantial and presentation was much better. Now it comes plopped in a small brown bowl. The Ceviche mixto was basically a few small bits of seafood, including tiny mussels in shells, drowned in a tomato salsa. I have never seen a worse ceviche in my life. The braised ribs were dry and had to be sent back.
The restaurant was incredibly noisy. Although it wasn't very crowded, food service was quite slow. Sadly, I have no inclination to return to this neighborhood restaurant anymore. There are plenty of better ones around. Now I know why this was the only one with tables available.
Salmon on salmon salad was dry and overcooked. Lettuce was slimy and past its prime. Service was almost nonexistent even though the restaurant was almost empty. I had to get up and track down someone to get my check.
The highlight of our visit was Bianca, our server. Her sincerity and earnest enthusiasm were a delight. Although it was not especially busy, it took about 20 minutes for someone to claim us. Drinks took another 15, but we had chips and water. The guacamole of the day was tasty, and clearly freshly made. The Mexican paella, seafood soup, and pork belly tacos were all good as well, if not especially exciting. The margarita was a little off, and the wine was decent. The whole experience was fine...just underwhelming. We felt a bit lost in the mix. Maybe this is just better if you are at the bar or with a large group.
The service was great. It was my birthday brunch and they brought out cake and sang for me. I appreciate the level of service given. We had bottomless drinks and they continued to refill throughout our stay. It was a great birthday!
Food was great but service was slow and they seemed to have forgotten about us outside.
This is my first negative review but my husband and I had a sad after our experience. Our server was really nice but the front of restaurant staff was G-R-U-M-P-Y. We felt like everyone was angry with us. And then, dinner was super slow. We were there for hours without dirty dishes removed or water refills and as we looked around, other diners were in the same situation. We won't go back.
After being seated at Agua 301, it took 30 minutes for me to get someone's attention to say that we had not been waited on, and did not have water or utensils. Once a waiter finally came over, we told him our order. He repeated it back to us three times because he kept forgetting different aspects of the order but would not write it down. Also, my friend and I were both sick after we ate here. Finally, I had to contact OpenTable because my reservation was not honored, and the restaurant said I didn't show up for the reservation, which I unfortunately did.
Went here for a work lunch with a big group. Great service, tasty food! Also appreciated they separated our checks. Lunch is really economical.
Just wish employees that were off didn't get drunk there, it just looks bad on the company side. Other than that it was good. I just didn't want to be in the drunkness of the non-working employees.
Because of the bad server we needed to wait nearly an hour for our food. The manager ended up covering our bill. The food when it did come wasn’t bad. The noise level is through the roof.
The kitchen was overwhelmed and short staffed. In the end management handled it appropriately and generously in the end. We did appreciate that our food was comped. The issue is that we sat for long intervals first to get our drink order, then to order food, and then to get our food to have someone come only at the end of the last step when we’d been at our table from 7 to 8:30. We finished our appetizer at around 7:30. When the food arrived, the fish on the fish tacos wasn’t hot, the corn tortillas were also cold. The steak wasn’t evenly cooked.
The food was good, the drinks were okay. The service was poor. At first I thought our server was overwhelmed but the staff was often standing around our table joking and laughing. Our food took over an hour to come, we often had empty drinks, chips, and water that were not refreshed. To the restaurant's credit, they comped our entire meal after we complained.
Great place by the water. Brunch was a good time, good food, only thing missing was music outside. Otherwise not a bad place for brunch.
Great food, authentic Mexican, not Texmex. Chicken mole is fabulous. Dessert was mediocre but comped immediately without even asking.
Found outdoor seating on the water, prompt service. Good food, lot's of vegetarian options. No tobasco, bring your own.
My family and I have eaten here before prior to a Nationals Game. The food and service those times were outstanding. This time we took a friend visiting from Germany and it was terrible. The restaurant was NOT crowded yet our waiter hardly came to us, we had to call him several times. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup which I was told would be clear broth. It looked like Gazpacho and tasted like blended up salsa. I could not eat it. My husband ordered shrimp tacos and they were undercooked. We were all very disappointed. Not sure what has happened to them, but I won't be going back. So sad when it had been so good.
Fun atmosphere. Tacos ranked from best to worst (we ordered 4) 1) steak (highly recommend) 2) pork belly, 3) fish, 4) chicken (avoid)
Great happy hour drink specials, friendly staff.
I highly recommend the hangar steak medium rare. It was out of this world delicious!
We were seated at 1:30p, were greeted at 1:45p, and the waitress did not come back until 2p to take our drink order. We asked if we could extend bottomless brunch from 2:50 since we weren't able to order anything for 30 minutes since we sat down, and the waitress replied with "No, the bar shuts down at 3p." We said okay and asked her to be back more often so that we could take advantage of what we were paying for.
Again, I understand that it's busy, but we were seated in the back corner of the restaurant (where it was also FREEZING) so felt extremely neglected. When we ordered our food, someone in our group asked for 2 sides of rice & no beans... and when her food arrived she got 2 sides of beans & no rice.
At 2:45, the waitress did say that she could extend our bottomless drinks until 3:15p & we thanked her. She then did not return to our table until 3:13p, when she asked "all good?" I personally asked for 1 more drink, and she then pulled her phone out of her apron to check the time & then walked away. My friend looked at me & asked if that meant I could or could not get another drink & I had no idea because there was nothing communicated to me from the waitress. She did then end up walking back over to see if anyone else needed anything, and we ordered our last round around 3:15p. We then did not see the waitress until I asked another server where she was & if we could get our checks at 3:40ish. At this point, we were visibly unhappy with the (lack of) service, but there was not once any apologetic tone about the experience, after we did voice our concerns to the waitress.
We will not be back.
Lovely venue. Food was ok! Drinks were ok! Service was excellent.
We came to Agua 301 while my in-laws were in town. We were very pleased with the prices, and everyone enjoyed their food except my MIL. This was more of her fault than the chef’s fault, though — she ordered a taco flavor she had never had before and didn’t like the meat. Had she gotten something more in her normal realm, though, it would’ve been a home run! Nachos weren’t listed on the menu however we were able to order some and they were delicious. We also ordered the crab guacamole and it was AMAZING. I literally licked the bowl! The service was sub par for no reason, really. We were some of the only people in the restaurant so I would’ve hoped for some more attentiveness. All in all, we live right up the street and we will 100% visit here again!
Came here with a decent size group on a Saturday night. It was nice out when we got there, so while our table was ready there we asked to move outside and they were very accommodating. The only reason for the 4 was we had multiple different servers come to our table and we’d ask for different things and it would take awhile to get them if they did at all. It also, took awhile to get our food and it was one of those things were we were just there too long. Overall, it was a solid experience and really appreciated their accommodations.
I would not recommend my friends to go for brunch, since it is very crowded you get bad service
Our one server was amazing and attentive which made up for the fact the other server was no where to be found, and actually said to us at one point “I will bring you over that drink in a little bit”. This was after someone didn’t like their drink, offered to still pay for it, and just switch drinks.
Also, the fact that once you select your bottomless drink you must stick with it. I’ve never heard of anyone doing this, especially if you select the higher priced drink and pay for it why can’t you have the lower priced items?
nice view over the water, but mediocre food. The restaurant was nearly empty when we were there and it looked seriously under-decorated. Might be better for happy hour.
Great place to dine before a Bats game! New menu and lots of good choices
A great and well priced brunch before going to a Nationals game!
Food was fine once we got it, but we waited over 40 minutes for it and it was obvious that some of it had been prepared and left to sit under heat lamps. The bathroom lines were also 7+people deep the entire time we were there.
We went to Agua 301 before a concert and the place was packed. Although we got our first drink and appetizer pretty quickly, it took a very long time to get drink refills and our main courses. By the time we did, we didn't really enjoy it. The steak tacos were great but the hanger steak dinner was not so much... Our table was near the restroom area and because there are only two bathrooms for the entire restaurant, the line for the bathroom at times was 8 person deep. The bathroom line extended by our table which was not ideal for a pleasant dinner. For a restaurant this size, two bathrooms are not enough. I may go back for lunch but I would not recommend for dinner plans.
