Agrodolce Ratings and Reviews
First time dining here; my partner and I shared the squid ink spaghetti with sardines and golden raisins; the sauce was to die for - flavorful and not too salty. Then we had the Arctic char wrapped in prosciutto which was tender; the fingerling potatoes were also good. Leeks we're just ok - not as tender as I like. Brussels sprouts might have been a better pairing. Limoncello sorbetto for dessert was very refreshing. Wine list is a bit pricey. Overall a great meal.
The tiny wine pour is annoying and unappetizing. It sets a bad, stingy tone for everything to come and keeps me from returning more often. However, the delicious broccoli starter and then the pasta sugo were very, very tasty. And the setting is beautiful; I've enjoyed it under various incarnations, originally the soup and coffee cafe "Still Life with Fremont."
We dined here for New Years Eve, understanding that there was a four course pre fixe menu in place at $90 per person. The food was okay. The first course was three small plates that we shared, but none of them were great. The second course was a small portion of shared pasta, which was good, but again- not great. For the entrees we had the arctic char and the wild boar tenderloin. The arctic char was the best part of the meal, by far (yay sunchokes!), and the boar tenderloin was lacking. For the dessert course, several desserts came out on one plate and none of them were great. After spending $300, I left disappointed. I would have much rather had one first course and dessert course that was fabulous, versus several small mediocre plates. I know part of the price we paid was because we were dining there on a holiday, but I definitely learned my lesson.
Another pleasant evening at Agrodolce with excellent food. I need to eat gluten-free, and there are always plenty of options. For those with multiple food sensitivities, GF pasta tends to include some eggs. I do appreciate being able to eat many things GF/DF and/or vegan. Though it may sound simple, we adore the roasted broccoli appetizer. It's outstanding. Good drinks, too. After going to Agrodolce, we're always glad we decided to go. That says something about the place.
We ordered coffees and a slice of quickbread; it took them 30 minutes to serve us the bread?! With empty tables in the restaurant brunch took almost two hours. Very slow service, including taking almost 5 extra minutes for one person’s meal to arrive. The food is excellent, but I won’t go back.
Came with a total of 4 couples to celebrate a birthday. As the group included individuals who were vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, there was something for everybody. The food was delicious and everyone there was very accommodating to meet our respective needs. All of their house made pastas were excellent and different.
We had a party of five, and I requested the back room as it's slightly quieter (my mother has difficulty hearing in loud places). We were seated in the back room, but they seated another party of four who were very loud, thereby defeating the purpose of sitting in the back.
Food was uneven, some dishes were delicious, such as polenta fries and broccoli, but others not so successful. My beef cheeks dish didn't come together cohesively, squash wasn't that tasty and didn't go with the beef, beef not exciting. Cocktails and wine were very good. Service was attentive.Chocolate cake was so-so.
Took my wife and two adult kids there for my daughter's birthday. She has allergies to onions and the server was able to advise as to which dishes could be prepared without onions and which already had onions cooked in. Server was very helpful. Food was delicious.
We went to Agradolce as it was listed as one of the top 10 places to eat in Seattle for tourists! We are not tourists, but loved it. It was also Restaurant week, so, a good time to get a 'taste'. . . we enjoyed everything about it! Excellent service, comfortable and nice surroundings and delicious food and drink.
Service was painfully slow. Arrived 7:15pm and left at 9:15pm. We took dessert to go as we had other plans and didn't expect dinner to take 2 hours. The service was painfully slow. I would recommend it as the food is good, but beware that you may spend 2 hours there for apps and dinner.
We were looking for a good restaurant in a fun area, for lunch. Agrodolce in the Fremont district was a VERY pleasant find. The menu items were prepared in a very creative fashion and what are normally standard dishes, were turned into fabulous flavor creations. EVERYTHING we ordered, from the house salad to the seasonal squash soup, to the two pasta dishes, to the chocolate gelato, to the Cafe Vita coffee was delicious and memorable. The bright comfortable room was not as full as you would think, given the quality of the food, the service and the location. We were surprised that more people we not taking advantage of this outstanding restaurant. We will definitely be back. Do yourself and your friends a favor and try this restaurant!
Great appetizers!!! We ordered the steamed clams, eggplant bruschettas and carmelized broccoli ....they were ALL delicious!!! However the clams linguine, rigatoni and sausage pasta were plain and hard...not as tasty (very disappointed)...considered the meals were not cheap.
My husband and I had dinner there last Saturday evening. The food was truly excellent, the service not so much. It took at least 15 minutes from drink order to receiving drinks and our empty plates sat on the table for quite a while after we finished eating. We did gave up on ordering dessert as we had theater tickets and were afraid with the speed of service we would not make it.
We will probably return at least one more time to see if the service problems were an aberration and the food as good as we remember.
