It took them forever to bring our food and the restaurant was half full. I arrived with my baby shower plus the stroller and the server didn’t even ask or help on how to fit the stroller in the table. My pasta was cold just when they brought it. Definitely not coming back.
Pretty good server
Weak bar, limited choice of liquor
The food was almost OK
Pasta much to al dente
Very little flavor
Desert was the best part
We ate delicious and inventive pasta dishes and a fantastic take on a S’more for dessert. I can’t wait to go back.
These people don't know how to cook. Everything was marginal. The goat cheese salad was wet, with UFO fruits in it; my chestnut buckwheat pasta (Sicilian???) had no particular taste and the undercooked chestnuts had no flavor; my wife's buccatelli seafood pasta had a blast of raw garlic overwhelming any other tastes it might have had; my apple cake was like a rock, tasteless, and would have made a pound cake seem delicate. Our waiter was pleasant but not terribly skilled. When our entrees arrived, I had to get up and ask for salt and pepper.
Three of us chose Agrodolce during restaurant week. We'd never been before and were looking forward to the meal. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. The first course, mushroom arancini was quite good. We were anticipating the entree. Two of us had the braised lamb. It was dry and somewhat flavorless. The potato puree was bland. We were not sure what the Girly Girly salad was supposed to be. Not much beyond some greens on the plate. The other person in our party chose the pasta with duck. He later said it was marginally edible. We all chose the Theo budino for dessert. It was good but did not make up for the overall meal.
Perhaps it was a bad night. My husband and I lived in southern Italy for several years and food did not remind us of any meal we had while living there. Sorry to say we would not return and I cannot recommend the restaurant.
We ordered the Restaurant Week specials. Chestnut Rigatoni turned out to be a smaller portion of chestnut pasta, a few pieces of Butternut squash and butter. That’s it. No sauce and very bland.
Sardines and GF pasta and pine nuts and golden raisins was good but again, a small portion for an entree.
Dessert was served in smallest ramekin have ever seen. For $35. We were disappointed. Felt we were shortchanged. But regular entree prices were $27 and up , so compared to that I guess it was a bargain. Too pricey and inconsistent to ever return
My friend and I always go to Agrodolce for Seattle restaurant week. They stick with it even as the number of restaurants offering veggie lunch choices for SRW keeps on dwindling. So I appreciate Agrodolce. The same problem repeats itself year by year. And that is very slow service. We always arrive first upon opening in the hopes that we can get the food in a reasonable amount of time and this year we did. The waiter was also very friendly. But the restaurant seems to be perpetually short-staffed. I don't know what the problem is. As to the food itself, the squash soup and the chef's special veggie pasta were, as usual, tasty and plentiful for the $20 price. I do wish they would offer free bread, but bread for a price seems to be more common these days.
Went during SRW and should have listened to the other reviews about the service and wait time. The waitress stuck with one table most of the night, telling stories and chatting with people I assumed to be her friends. It took just under three hours for us to receive all three courses.
Good ambience, Average Service, limited selection of wines and poor food.
The food (pasta dishes) took over 50 minutes, pasta was cold, and over cooked.
May if it happens once, you could think it was an exception but if it happens on two different entrees, then it is more likely the norm.
Ishmael, I’m terribly sorry our pasta wasn’t cooked properly and to our standard. I’m also sorry for the long wait. I’m unable to send you contact information via this forum but if you would go to our web site and click contact I’d like to get more understanding where we went wrong and make it right. -Agrodolce
This was a RW experiment after walking by a dozen times. It was fabulous. Best waiter, great food, ambience is welcoming and warm. Pasta outstanding!
Service is bad. Only one waiter for entire restaurant during lunch of restaurant week. What are they thinking? Wine prices ridiculously high. Two $20 restaurant week lunches and two glasses of wine, bill was $70. Plus zero parking. Zero ambiance. I won't be back. Food was decent, but there are too many restaurants in Seattle to both with this one again.
I've eaten at Agrodolce in the past and really enjoyed my experience, so I was really disappointed with my most recent trip. We arrived for our reservations on time, but were not seated for at least 15 minutes after despite all the open seating we saw. It then took another 15 minutes to ask for our drink orders, and food orders took close to the same. We ended up spending almost 2 hours in the restaurant, only spending about 15 minutes total eating (very small portions). In addition to the small portions, the dishes were bland and pretty boring overall.
I went to Agrodolce with a friend during Seattle restaurant week. The food was terrible. My friend actually had to send her meal back and order a different one. The service was equally as bad. Our waiter was rude and it took us almost 2 hours to get through the meal because they were so slow. I will not go to this restaurant again.
Greetings, I’m sorry your experience wasn’t what I would expect from our restaurant and what we thrive for, unfortunately I’m unable to send contact info through this forum. If you go to our web site and click contact you can reach me directly I’d like to invite you back on us to make this right. -Agrodolce
We chose to go out during SRW to somewhere new to us Very nice early dinner Great ambiance
Usually the pasta is great but this time we were disappointed. Rigatoni was way too firm and there was a meager amount of meat sauce. Carbonara pasta was really dry.
Hi Skip, I'm glad you like our House-made pasta's and I'm terribly sorry to hear your recent visit didn't live up to what you have come to expect from Agrodolce. I'd like to invite you back for dinner on us! I'm unable to give you my email through here but if you go to our website and click the contact button I'll get your message. Kurt
Good food. Small servings, at least at lunch. A little expensive for what you got.
Hi John, I'm glad you enjoyed your Lunch with us and appreciate the feedback. Not sure what you had but we use mostly local organic farms and for our pasta, we make all in house and even go a step further to mill some of our own flour from Washington grains. so this does add to the cost. We will look into our portions at lunch. We hope to see you again soon come in for weekend brunch or happy hour sometime. Kurt
Great menu with many interesting choices. Exceptionally astute waiter read our minds. The special - an creative, well-crafted salad entree with salmon and a generous burrata "island" absolutely hit the spot. Lunch at the Agro is not to be missed.
Hi David Glad you enjoyed our salad special look forward to seeing you again soon. Come check out our happy hour sometime or brunch. -Agrodolce Team
Love this spot in Seattle. Get the broccoli!!! Cannot wait to go back.
Hi Teresa We’re glad you had a great time and enjoyed the broccoli 🥦, we look forward to seeing you again soon. Look for a new happy hour menu coming soon!! -Agrodolce Team
Waiter put in wrong food order; I ordered chicken which he sold me on and then served me a piece of dried up Salmon which I refused.
None of cared for the food. :(.
Hi Suzanne, I’m very sorry that we didn’t meet and exceed your expectations. We are very sorry the wrong item got ordered this was totally our fault. Unfortunately sometimes mistakes do happen we did try to rectify the situation but you refused so we also bought your wine for you. You where deciding between the salmon and the chicken so hopefully you can understand how this simple mistake happened.
The food was fresh and fabulous with a quiet and easy going atmosphere.
I liked my experience at Agrodolce, our table was ready when we got there, the wine was good, the app, was good, the entrees were good, the dessert was good, but nothing was great. For the price I was hoping for great.
It was an okay dining experience. The food was tasty but more "earthy" than I expected, for lack of a better term. Maybe I just didn't order the good dishes on the menu but the pasta was a little too chewy and the cake was dry and dense, with little flavor.
Agrodolce was delightful for lunch. Excellent food, service etc. Only critique is the electric guitar music was slightly distracting and didn't seem to match the ambiance.
This was our first visit. We were happy with our dining experience and will be back for more.
We ordered the chefs choice dinner for the table. While some items, like the appetizers, were great, other items of the meal were rather bland. While the food was generally OK, for the price in the competitive Seattle food scene, one could do better. Overall average.
The 4 of us made reservations on line, were immediately seated, and proceeded to have one of the best dinners of our lives. We all have been to Italy and so knew what we wanted. We shared several plates. They were all flavorful complimentary and delish! Must have the Risotto. Best we have ever had. Will be back soon w husband's and other friends!
Not really a complaint, just an average restaurant that I wouldn’t likely eat at again.
Service was excellent and the place was very nice, but the food itself was rather bland given the price. Outdoor tables were so rickety you could barely eat on them, would be fine for drinks though.
The food was outstanding and the service was exceptional!
Everything was good but it is so uncomfortably hot in this restaurant it’s hard to enjoy the great service and food.
The menu is unique and not traditional Southern Italy cooking. No meatballs! No lasagna, cananoli, etc. Waiter was aloof and not conversational. We have been looking for a good Italian restaurant in Seattle. This is not it.
Having enjoyed dinner at Agrodolce, thought I’d try it for a business lunch. Excellent dishes, promptly served by a nice and knowledgeable wait staff.
Was a great lunch.
Peaceful, clean place. Wonderful service, yummy food. We will be back!
This is a great place - Italian, northwest, creative
The waiter was nice but the food was disappointing for the price.
Best service and really good food. The server made us so comfortable and came up with a fun alternative when our mixer of choice was not available. She also made it possible for us to get dessert, even though it is not available during brunch. The food was wonderful. Great texture and complexity of flavour. The chef has a great palate and was so kind to fix us a dessert. It was just two of us, but groups could be accommodated. Highly recommend and we will be returning.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner! The polenta fries are incredible!
The service staff were overrun for such a busy day/ known event. They did the best they could given the circumstances. Our food orders arrived after 1.5 hours of waiting. Some orders were undercooked or just incorrect. The bottomless mimosas were the redeeming factor.
My favorite pasta in Seattle, delicious and very knowledgable ,passionate staff.
I wanted to try the restaurant now that Maria Hines sold it to her Chef. Overall it was a disappointment in terms of the food and the service.
Service was friendly and accommodating although he kept referring to me as “miss,” and had a habit of answering my questions with a question.
We ordered the asparagus with the sauce on the side. Asparagus is in season so I had high hopes. It tasted burnt and had a gummy texture. I think it was pre-grilled, then heated up to order.
I also ordered the carbonara, subbing with Manni’s fresh gf pasta. I really appreciate that they serve Manni’s. However the pasta dishes arrived while we were eating our first course. When I switched my small plate for the pasta, I saw there was a raw egg yolk at the top of the bowl. No explanation when it was served, just pasta dish going cold with a raw egg.
I mixed it up and noted liquid in the bottom of the bowl. When I tasted the dish, the guanciale was over cooked and it was oil in the bottom of the dish. I ate it, didn’t send it back as we had time constraints.
They offered to make me something else, which I declined. Apparently they consider it a deconstructed carbonara, which doesn’t make any sense. They gave a discount on the pasta which wasn’t necessary but very nice.
My dining companion thought there were way too many olives in his tagliatelle puttanesca.
Nice people but I won’t be going back.
