I've been here multiple times and the food and drinks never disappoint. The service left something to be desired though. While our waiter was great, the rest of the service was unorganized. Food that wasn't our arrived on the table, and then someone came and took it away while we figure out what it was. The hostess took forever to seat us even with a reservation and seemed very overwhelmed even though there were very few people there. We were then asked to leave because a large party was coming in.

The food was average. I believe there to be better options in NYC for Cuban food.

Did a nice job with a very large group. The pork belly is outstanding., as were the flautas and tapas fiesta platters. The croquettes were underwhelming.

Food was great, but are service was horrible. Waiter rarely came by. Waiter took our order eventually and forgot, we had to get up 40 minutes later for our apps and drinks and had to re-tell our order to another waiter. Never checked on.

Over the past year the food quality and drinks have deteriorated! Our fist few visits last year , we raved about everything!!
However lately, very disappointing!!
Don't know why, but someone needs to notice!!! Sad!!

It's our 2nd dining experience here. The dining room is brightly decorated with original paintings of Cuban life which really makes it feel a bit like Havana. The menu is also authentically Cuban with a couple of classic Cuban-American dishes. The plates are small for the price, but it's good. Our waiter was attentive. Highly recommend.

The empanada trio was good and so were the mojitos. Grilled chicken sandwich was just alright. The restaurant was too noisy.

Based on Yelp reviews, went with French visitors for dinner close to shopping. Two for one drinks was great - extended past the 8pm cut off..Good look. Dinner took a little wait to come out, we did not order appetizers. Would have been nice to have a bowl of chips and salsa on the table. Overall, staff is friendly and we enjoyed our entrees.

Great food. Service was a bit slow. AC was a major disappointment. Nice looking AC unit, but did nothing but look pretty! We rushed the check and left without dessert because the heat was unbearable. Maybe we'll go back in the Fall/Winter.

Came in for happy hour today to celebrate with my husband and drinks are really good for the value. Especially that they are buy one get one! We ordered a bunch of tapas and they were all really good latin food. Mix of cuban, mexican and colombian in the menu. Glad to have found this spot!

I only had tapas, coffee and dessert. The food was fine, but it did take a long time for the food to come out. Luckily we were in no rush so it wasn't an issue for us.

The south american vibe and music was good. But the place is small and tiny, we literally have to shout so we could hear each other. Not much choices on the menu though. Would recommend for happy hour, grab a drink, relax, enjoy the music.

the cuban food we ordered was very good. i stepped out of probably their wheelhouse and ordered a salad with grilled chicken. first bite of chicken had a weird texture, suspected it was a bit undercooked. they were very gracious to supply me with a second salad, the chicken definitely looked cooked, but it had a very strange texture. i ended up not eating it. did not get sick! but i would've liked them to offer to comp the salad, as clearly none of my chicken was eaten. if i went back, i would stick to fried stuff

The atmosphere at Agozar was very fun and festive. With that said, the food and drinks leave a lot to be desired. The server recommended the vaca frita to me but it was incredibly salty and dry. I had to exchange it with what I was going to order in the first place. The mimosas were extremely weak. Mostly sugary juice with very little & flat champagne.

Though this was a disappointment, my server was very nice, even with me exchanging meals. His gratuity was already built into the pre fixe menu but he was very helpful nonetheless. Perhaps this place is better for dinner.

The best thing about this place was the food. It was delicious. The dining area was a bit small so it got loud rather quickly. Great place for a girls night out but if you're looking for a quiet, romantic setting, this isn't it.

My family & I came here for some authentic Cuban food which we used to get in the Cuban enclave in northern Manhattan. The hostess was very disorganized in spite of the mostly empty restaurant. She managed to knock napkin-wrapped knives/forks off a couple tables, as we walked to our table! She didn't check us in on Open Table. Our server was attentive & our classic Cuban dishes (pork; shredded beef; chicken) were very good. After we paid our bill, the waiter said he'll make sure that we're checked in on Open Table. Instead I got an email later saying that restaurant cancelled my (used) reservation so that I didn't get the 1K bonus points. I will resolve with Open Table since I have my dated/time-stamped receipt to prove that we dined there.

really disappointed in the service and food. woman wouldnt rearrange tables to seat us - made us wait for a family to leave. then 5 minutes after we are sat (30 minutes late mind you) they rearrange for a party of 6 (we were a party of four and there 6 tables smushed together - pretty dumb setup honestly).
they they proceed to give poor service, no apology, no thank yous, the cuban was dry as hell and half of their vegetarian tapas was plantain chips.
thankfully i was with great company and they didnt mind, but they all mentioned the incompetence of the staff and how they wouldnt come back.
