The caribeño mojitos and the camarones al ajillo (traditional Spanish shrimps in garlic butter sauce) are the best combo for happy hour.
The lunch special is great, the staff is really friendly. So sad to see them leave he neighborhood.
Service wasn’t great but the food was pretty good. Smaller portions.
Very good authentic Cuban food, tastes just like home! Even has arepas and other delicious Hispanic foods. If you’re looking for good Latin-American food in the city, this is the place to go.
They cancelled our reservation so when we got there- no tables until like 5. We ended up eating at the bar area but it was mega crowded and we really only stayed because of the rain.
The hostess that day (Mercy?) was also exceptionally rude which breaks my heart because this WAS my go to lunch spot but never again.
The wait was a little long for the food but the waiter was nice although you could tell busy.
I've been here multiple times and the food and drinks never disappoint. The service left something to be desired though. While our waiter was great, the rest of the service was unorganized. Food that wasn't our arrived on the table, and then someone came and took it away while we figure out what it was. The hostess took forever to seat us even with a reservation and seemed very overwhelmed even though there were very few people there. We were then asked to leave because a large party was coming in.
The food was average. I believe there to be better options in NYC for Cuban food.
Did a nice job with a very large group. The pork belly is outstanding., as were the flautas and tapas fiesta platters. The croquettes were underwhelming.
Food was great, but are service was horrible. Waiter rarely came by. Waiter took our order eventually and forgot, we had to get up 40 minutes later for our apps and drinks and had to re-tell our order to another waiter. Never checked on.
They were very accommodating to our large party! The steak and eggs is too good.
The Cuban classics are phenomenal and the monitors and the calamares al ajillo. He wait staff was really friendly
Over the past year the food quality and drinks have deteriorated! Our fist few visits last year , we raved about everything!!
However lately, very disappointing!!
Don't know why, but someone needs to notice!!! Sad!!
It's our 2nd dining experience here. The dining room is brightly decorated with original paintings of Cuban life which really makes it feel a bit like Havana. The menu is also authentically Cuban with a couple of classic Cuban-American dishes. The plates are small for the price, but it's good. Our waiter was attentive. Highly recommend.
The empanada trio was good and so were the mojitos. Grilled chicken sandwich was just alright. The restaurant was too noisy.
Authentic Cuban cuisine and ambiance, certainly worth the trip to the Bowery
Excellent pork dinner. It was Monday, Trivia Night at the Bar
Everything was excellent. Good food good ambiance and strong drinks.
Based on Yelp reviews, went with French visitors for dinner close to shopping. Two for one drinks was great - extended past the 8pm cut off..Good look. Dinner took a little wait to come out, we did not order appetizers. Would have been nice to have a bowl of chips and salsa on the table. Overall, staff is friendly and we enjoyed our entrees.
Great food for a fair price loved it.
The week me lunch special is fantastic, the palomilla steak and the ropa Viena are my favorite.
We asked for a side of salsa verde, it really added to the yucca fries and the plantain chips.
Very solid restaurant. Delicious food, standard cocktails.
Great food. Service was a bit slow. AC was a major disappointment. Nice looking AC unit, but did nothing but look pretty! We rushed the check and left without dessert because the heat was unbearable. Maybe we'll go back in the Fall/Winter.
Came in for happy hour today to celebrate with my husband and drinks are really good for the value. Especially that they are buy one get one! We ordered a bunch of tapas and they were all really good latin food. Mix of cuban, mexican and colombian in the menu. Glad to have found this spot!
Food was amazing, staff super friendly! Would definitely go back. Must have been under staffed because food and drinks took forever and server very inattentive, but friendly!
I only had tapas, coffee and dessert. The food was fine, but it did take a long time for the food to come out. Luckily we were in no rush so it wasn't an issue for us.
There were items on the website that they didn't actually have on their menu. Food wasn't bad. I was so looking forward to trying their mojito but was disappointed.
Excellent food and drinks. This is my second visit and the food does not disappoint. I recommend doing tapas so you can try a little of everything. They have a great happy hour for drinks and tapas as well on weekdays.
Not much of a cuban ambiance
Nice atmosphere with music. Good for happy hour & a bite. Portions could have been bigger. Overall it was good date spot
The south american vibe and music was good. But the place is small and tiny, we literally have to shout so we could hear each other. Not much choices on the menu though. Would recommend for happy hour, grab a drink, relax, enjoy the music.
Food is outstanding but it is a bit over priced. Great environment, music was on point. Overall a great place, worth checking out.
The food and service at this place were great. I would definitely come back again. I highly recommend the arepas.
Ropa vieja dish was delicious, great presentation as well with the plantain chips. Sangria was good and strong! Would come back again to try the tapas!
Brunch ended up lasting many hours due to the non-packed calm atmosphere
The lamb was succulent and the portion was just enough.
the cuban food we ordered was very good. i stepped out of probably their wheelhouse and ordered a salad with grilled chicken. first bite of chicken had a weird texture, suspected it was a bit undercooked. they were very gracious to supply me with a second salad, the chicken definitely looked cooked, but it had a very strange texture. i ended up not eating it. did not get sick! but i would've liked them to offer to comp the salad, as clearly none of my chicken was eaten. if i went back, i would stick to fried stuff
The atmosphere at Agozar was very fun and festive. With that said, the food and drinks leave a lot to be desired. The server recommended the vaca frita to me but it was incredibly salty and dry. I had to exchange it with what I was going to order in the first place. The mimosas were extremely weak. Mostly sugary juice with very little & flat champagne.
Though this was a disappointment, my server was very nice, even with me exchanging meals. His gratuity was already built into the pre fixe menu but he was very helpful nonetheless. Perhaps this place is better for dinner.
