We sat outside and had a lovely time with the weather in the upper 60s, very attentive service and tasty food.
Vacationing. Found restaurant online and were thrilled we did. Delicious food, with tapas-sized portions that made trying a few options possible. Great service - attentive without being overbearing. Only slight drawback is the small two-person table s that can make it difficult to have several plates at the same time. But all the good definitely made up for this small issue. Would recommend in a heartbeat!
We have brunch and the food was excellent
Highly recommend the mushrooms and scallops. One downside was the food came out very quickly for small plates leaving our table jam packed and some food getting cold.
We love Agora! We’ve come a handful of times for the bottomless brunch and it’s our favorite spot.
Great option for pretty authentic Turkish food. Service was a little slow in trying to get refills and check. Like a lit of restaurants, they tend to forget about you once your food is served. But the food was worth all that. If you're in DC, try it out. It was a taste of home for me!
A great place for traditional exceptionally Greek and Mediterranean food. We initially had to wait a bit for our cocktails (we were a group of 8) but then the service become prompt and attentive as small dish after small dish were brought to the table. Very good wine list. Would highly recommend.
Food was fabulous! Service was horrible. Waitress took forever to come to our table. Never returned to see how our meals were or refill our drinks...had to ask 2 times for our check and that took another 15 mins to get. Not sure why the food & service don't match but if that wasn't the case this place would have received 5 stars.
lots of fun. Great local place for large or small groups
The food was great as well as the service
Agora was fantastic, food was delicious as always, and they were super accommodating when I moved up the reservation time and added a few people for my engagement party. Zainab was a fantastic server - would absolutely recommend for any event, date, or brunch!
Outstanding as always.
Waited 30 min after our reservation time to get seated.
Mom came to town and I’ve been here a few times so I made a reservation here!
The food is always amazing!
We split hummus, and I got sishito peppers (best flavoring I’ve ever tasted) and the octopus! All amazing!! My mom got the lamb chop which she liked but not as good as the other dishes she said!
Service was quick! Got this pink cocktail which was great and flavorful !
We even took something to go and the server accidentally threw it away so the kitchen made it new for us!
So nice and great experience !
We came for brunch and our server was overwhelmingly absent for the duration of our meal. We had to request that she come to our table through another server, and each time she came back she was rude. There was also hair in one of our dishes. Wouldn’t recommend.
Great boozy brunch with endless food items from the menu. Love the fresh pita, hummus, sujuk (Turkish sausage), truffle deviled eggs, kasik salad, goat cheese with honey, pide (flatbread), baklava French toast, and Bloody Mary’s. We ate and ate, left happy and super full!
One of my favorites in DC. Every time i end up gushing about food, drinks and service. If its good weather, sit outside!
Great fresh flavors.
Amazingly quick service.
Friendly and accessible. Small plates are native to Greece so this works. Non Mediterranean dishes on menus do not.
We have been here a number of times and the Ottoman Rice and Scallops have been consistently very good. The lamb rifles were excellent, BUT be warned that it is quite fatty -- that's what contributes to the taste!! We love it but it certainly is not a dish I would eat everyday ;) For nonalcoholic drinks, I recommend the Tropicana.
Food was good and authentic, but the service slowed dramatically as the restaurant filled. Small plates, but not their price. It'll do in a pinch, but it's not a "go to" place.
Agora is one of the most consistently good restaurants in the Dupont Circle area. The first things you notice are the wonderful aromas and the pleasant lighting, creating a welcoming environment. Conversation is easy because the noise level is moderately low. Service is friendly and efficient. Their homemade bread is hot & tasty. Be sure to order the Cacik, a spread of yogurt, cucumber, mint garlic and olive oil. The 1/2 grilled chicken is aromatic and tender. A selection of Mediterranean desserts is available, all can be ordered a la mode, if you like. My visiting guest was most impressed!
Food was excellent and the 1/2 price bottle of wine was good value on a Monday evening.
Agora is a lovely choice for a varied meal--lots of good smaller plates to share. It also has a terrific patio for outdoor seating. Definitely worth a repeat.
We have had brunch at AGORA more than 20 times and the last several times the service has been very slow. This time, we found the hostess unfriendly and unwelcoming (smiling is not hard) and the food was slow in coming and many times cold (french toast and bacon). I noticed lots of food items sitting around for a long time on big trays that were in the way. We have enjoyed the food here in the past but we feel service and operations have declined and there are many other brunch options (we have noticed it easier to get into AGORA lately too). Best of luck but we are going to spend our valuable weekend time and money elsewhere.
This place is a must for brunch or after work drinks, or dinner. In other words, it is great all the time. I love being able to order multiple things and share. LOVE THIS PLACE!
I find myself comparing all other brunches to Agora. They always exceed expectations in service, value and quality of food. An Agora brunch experience is like none other in DC
Amazing service and wonderful dood quality ... cocktails are delicious... prices Or low for DC…
I had forgotten how good the food was and what a great number of delicious menu choices they had. We could order all of the different things we wanted to taste because there were too many things we wanted. So even though there were four of us sharing we will have to go back soon to try the things we missed!
Agora is always a go-to brunch spot. The menu is tasty, diverse, and affordable. Staff is phenomenal. Vibe is great.
Great brunch and service
The bottomless brunch is so fun and great for a big group!
Fantastic service and commitment to a wonderful get-together with friends in town. Food was amazing and the drinks ever-flowing
We went for dinner with our one-year old. The staff is incredibly welcoming to babies and little children as well as the rest of the guests. They are in good spirits, and accommodating. Super friendly and kind. The food is delicious! We had short ribs and steak and devoured both! Even our baby ate the short ribs and made content sounds (and she is a fickle eater). We also had fried Brussel sprouts which aren’t battered, just simply fried. Delicious! We also had a kasik salad, tuna tartare, the yogurt spread with pita bread, and chef’s borek. It was all divine. I definitely recommend for dates, special occasions, etc.
Some members of our party of 4 had dietary restrictions. The staff was most accommodating. Our food arrived on time and was delicious. It was quiet and we asked for a table toward the back. Being able to converse in a restaurant is as important as any cuisine!
Wonderful unique brunch.
We found this restaurant heading to sushi next door. We love Mediterranean food so we wanted to give it a try - on a full stomach you should note! Got the hummus, dolmades, and lamb chops. Hummus was excellent. More tahini flavored than others but we like that. Domades were good. Lamb chops were excellent but only received two for an expensive price tag. Would definitely go back more hungry!
Agora is a hidden gem of Dupont Circle’s restaurant scene. The food is incredible, flavorful, and surprisingly reasonable. My husband and I came here for our 1st wedding anniversary and we ordered 2 drinks, 6 tapas plates, and a dessert. All of this came to a total of $106. For DC, that’s amazing!! We LOVED it here!
The food was truly wonderful in all ways. I have no complaint and would recommend the food without hesitation. The service however was terrible. The waiter was fine, but I only wish Mcdonalds would provide service as fast as we were fed and dismissed at Agora. Within 5 minutes of placing our order our food began arriving in machine gun speed and we were so overwhelmed with the food arriving so quickly that there wasn't even room on the table to place the dishes! We had no opportunity to catch our breath, have dinnertime conversation and sip our drinks and wine. The entire meal for 7 of us was completed in one hour from the time we sat til the time we left. Not what we had planned for a night out dining. This was a special dinner for our son's birthday, and he has been begging to get us to this restaurant for a year. The staff knew it was a special occasion and yet we were hurried through dinner in an extremely hurried manner.
