Really as bad a cost and pretense to actual quality ratio as I’ve found in a while. Maybe next time just hit the Sbarros in the Beverly Center? Or Pizza Hut?
Our food took exceptionally long to come out. When it did come, it didn’t come all at once so half the table had food while the other half did not. And to top it off, the special instructions were not followed. Ago used to be known for exceptional service; I found this a huge disappointment.
We were seated at a fantastic table in the corner overlooking the entire restaurant.
Fear food. Great staff and atmosphere
Minus the fly that fell out of the olive oil bottle, food was great and the server was fantastic.
Ate with all grandkids. Great time. Parking easy. Food great. Kids had noodles with butter and chicken Milanese. All great. Caprese salad also great as was crepe brûlée.
Our waiter was weird and almost rude!
Pizza was delicious but the rest of our food was mediocre.
Amazing across the board. The Carpaccio is a must.
We made a lunch reservation for 4 people for 1:00 pm, on 10/31/19 at least two weeks prior — the attendees were Susan Wiesner (attorney and business owner), a movie producer, the president of a department of Netflix, and a high end designer/business owner. Huge lunch meeting. When the attendees showed up to Ago, they discovered it was closed!! We were not given the courtesy of an advance call. We were told by the parking lot attendant that the restaurant made the decision at 4 pm the day prior (10/30/19). It’s unprofessional to treat customers with a lack of respect. our reservation was made through Open Table
Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful for a date night or for bringing your in-laws. We love coming here and being able to get shaved truffles on anything! We come here often and it never fails to impress. Definitely a favorite frequent spot.
It was ok. We had dinner on Sunday night. It wasn’t busy at all and inside of restaurant was almost empty but outside was maybe 1/3 full.
The service wasn’t great at the beginning but I guess they figure out we order so many and started changing their service attitude.
Food was good but I felt I’ve never felt WOW! And pizza wasn’t my taste and felt like TJ’s frozen pizza.
I think they were used to be great but other competitors get better than this restaurant.
Service and food were equally as bad. Not one mention of our 50th anniversary. Haven’t been there in a few years. Not sure what happened. Big disconnect.
Food took two hours to come out of the kitchen. She kept asking. Got apologizes from staff but no results. Finally our food came out, literally two plates at a time. Everything came out at different times. It was a Birthday celebration gone bad. No compensation offered. No free dessert. Nothing. When the bull cane they automatically added the tip so we couldn’t add our own. They knew we were dissatisfied, so they gave themselves an 18 percent. The place has changed dramatically from before. Run and managed terribly. The manager has no personal skills and doesn’t care about customers. I will never go back
FYI. I live down the street and I frequent the restaurant twice a month. They know my face. They know my family. Yet they don’t care. I bet the place will close down soon
Ago has always been one of my favorite restaurants in LA. However, this past experience was not a good one. I ordered the rack of lamb which was mostly fat. It had been seared quickly on a flt top stove. The sauteed spinach on the side was bitter. I would have mentioned something to the waiter but the only person who came by was the busboy who was more interested in selling us another bottle of sparking water. It's a shame, because for years, they have produced consistently good food and service.
Outstanding attention to detail. A wonderful dining experience. Thank you to everyone involved at Ago.
Fantastic food. Eric, our waiter was professional and very friendly.
Fantastic atmosphere food and service we will definitely back thank you for a wonderful dinner
Always consistent. Highly recommend. Been going here since opened - 20 years .
Classic and always consistently Yummy for drinks ,appetizers, dinner and deserts!
Dinner for 3 at Ago was better than real good, but not quite great. Don’t take me wrong, as we’d all go back again, but some places on the Westside are new or newly remodeled
Very rude waiter. Food was fine but did not fit the description on the menu. Signs not clear that the car park was operated by independent valet service therefore no parking validation. Overall really bad. I'm surprised they ever get any repeat custom.
Excellent service excellent food our waiter Eric was impeccable.
We were nicely greeted when we arrived. When we were seated it was a very small table for four. We asked for this other round table which was larger. The manager had refused us. His reason was it was a table for 7 people and it was reserved. There was four place settings at the time. In the end.... after some discussion he said fine. The food was good but not exceptional so not deserving of five stars. Service was acceptable but not polished so again no five. Finally that entire evening the restaurant was 1/2 full and we never saw the magnificent Seven arrive. Perhaps they went elsewhere.
Amazing food and top notch service.
I’ve been to Ago a few times now and I’ve always had exceptional service until the other night when our server disappeared. Another server had to finish serving my table and give us the bill. The food was exceptional, as always, though.
Luca is the best! Amazing experience !!!
Overall, VERY POOR, and not at all as expected based on several previous positive experiences. We made our reservation and arrived early. We asked for outside seating on the Patio, one of the best things about the restaurant. Although the Patio was nearly empty, we were seated by Luka at an abysmal table in the corner, looking at the Bussing Station. He was also our waiter. Our entrees were unbelievably slow and people seated after us were finishing entrees before ours even arrived. The food was good; we all had specials for which prices were not provided. The prices for the specials were well above prices on the menu. Despite having one of the best patios in town and usually decent food, we will NEVER return.
The filet of sole was over cooked. The veal milanese was so so. It was very loud and the service was terrible.
I don’t ever give reviews but the restaurant needs to know so they can correct.
Servers need to be a little more attentive to guest. The rest of the staff was much nicer.
Cozy atmosphere, delicious food
great service great food
love it love it love it
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
it was a perfect experience... amazing food and service!!!
The food made up for the outdoor noise. Would have been better with a fiber glass barrier between the street and diners.
Ago is always excellent with brilliant service and delicious food!
Friendly staff, nice patio, good food. They made my bachelorette party a great time!
Everything was good except the noise level. We were sitting next to a table with a big group, they were extremely loud, we hardly could hear each other & it was very annoying.
We had an awesome experience. Wayne at the bar and our server Christian were very attentive and made our meal unforgettable. We will definitely be back!
Friendly & welcoming staff , delicious food!
Great food! Good ambiance. Loved it!
