We had a really delicious meal, with excellent service.
The experience was really good, and we were all very grateful
We always love the food at the AGO Bistro. We were disappointed not to see lots of Ontario wines on the menu.
The staff were helpful when we needed to add a fifth to our table of four. Wonderful brunch. Lots of choice and good for our gluten and dairy-free gang.
Excellent brunch before visiting the Impressionist exhibit. We should do this more often.
Birthdays. Great service excellent food would go back. We have been to this restaurant three times since the changeover from Frank
Onion soup was excellent. Cookies for dessert okay but without flair. Fogo Island cod was good but served with lentils and fennel was dull. Expected more from the food at this restaurant. Service was excellent.
Noise level is challenging for all but especially for folks with hearing aids
Food wasn’t as outstanding as the Impressionist donor dinner preceding Wednesday evening
Service was excellent
Expensive for lunch
The food was excellent but the portions were very small, even for a high end restaurant. My companion ordered an Irish coffee and the wait staff brought him a cup of coffee with a shot of Irish whiskey on the side. Is that a new trend?
Great service, amazing food and a wonderful way to dine before visiting the AGO. Highly recommended.
Our waitress was outstanding! In fact everyone who assisted us was stupendous.
Excellent food and drinks. Service excellent, too. The regular full time bartender is an artist, too, so don’t overlook sitting at the bar and enjoying expertly made cocktails. Highly recommended!
The menu is small but still offers good variety and all of our dishes were very well executed. Service here is always outstanding. Cocktails are some of the best in the city!
Creative cuisine and just the right portion. Delicious desserts. Steven as sever is great.
A great place to have brunch or lunch before seeing the gallery!
Food was delicious. A bit on the pricier side but that is expected considering the location.
Ambiance is decent just lacking a bit of the view. It’s a fairly small place.
Service was great.
I do recommend to stop there at least once after visiting the gallery as it makes it the whole experience and the food is definitely worth trying. Bon appetit!
Entree of calf lever was very overcooked, complained to the waitress, but she just apologized and walked away
I've had really good meals at the AGO Bistro before, but our experience was unexpectedly disappointing. My friend actually had to return her meal. Her fish arrived cold and raw inside. It was taken back and re-heated poorly. My vegetarian pasta was mediocre at best, rubbery and salty, and I wasn't offered the option of grated cheese. My concern is that I've made a reservation at AGO Bistro for a three-person reunion. It's an important occasion and I'm concerned by this lowering of standards. I can provide details if I know who to speak to. The hosting (Kelsie) and service (Michael) were really good. Just the meal was poor, and in one instance inedible.
In our last couple dinning experiences here, food seemed to be severed with lukewarm temperature which made great entrees tasted substandard. This could have been easily resolved by preheating the serving plates and placing them under heating lamp while waiting to be served to the customer. Otherwise, it is still a good place to dine before and after a visit to AGO. Also it would be nice to see more vegetarian options.
Excellent Excellent Excellent experience. The staff are wonderful, knowledgable, & prompt with service. Pace of dining experience is not rushed & delivery of each dish is all timed well. My Fogo Island Cod w/ perfect lentils & braised leeks made this Newfoundlander smile w delight. Will certainly be back! Bravo
Nice and classy. Great atmosphere. However a little pricey.
Our table was situated upstairs over looking the gift shop. Great service, delicious food. I would definitely return.
An excellent place for lunch, especially when visiting a special Exhibition at the AGO
Really great lunch had before a day at the AGO.
An inventive menu, and reallydelicious food, range of breakfast and lunch items. Our server was efficient and wellinformedabout goings on at the gallery. Great spot for lunch, casuallyelegant and quiet enough for a good conversation.
Overall pleasant, however they were very busy and kids got their food well before we did. Croque madame underdone - cheese not melted and egg a bit raw - tasty but could have been better!
Interesting unique menu choices. AGO is a wonderful setting.
Menu changes to reflect AGO exhibit. Whatever the menu might be the food and service is excellent. Noise level is acceptable. No need to yell at dining partner.
Highly recommend weekend brunch. Server Elaine is the best.
We are very happy long distance AGO members and always enjoy the fantastic cuisine and very attentive and friendly staff at the AGO Bistro. Always (and consistently) a great pleasure.
The Bistro never fails to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Food was imaginitive and combined flavours and textures in ways that appealed to all the members of our party. A few more vegan/vegetarian options would be nice. (but what they had was delicious too).
Noise level was high when we were seated but as dinners left it got quieter.
Food was good value, noise is an issue.
It's fabulous, and our attendant was so kind and friendly. Looking forward to visiting the gallery and bistro again in the spring.
The prix fixe is good value for $45. It was a good dinner for Valentine's Day. This was my second time at the restaurant and both times the service were excellent.
We were pleased to be there with friends. Food was delicious ( we all had the duck pasta) but it wasn't hot, which was really disappointing. However, we didn't complain - didn't want to wait while it was warmed up! Our waiter was attentive and very pleasant.
The pasta was delicious. The sole was perfectly cooked, but I was surprised it wasn’t served with a sauce or at least with lemon. However, lemon was served once I asked for it.
The service was excellent. We sat in a private booth and although it was right next to the entrance booth, we were not disturbed. This is the second time we’ve eaten here and we enjoyed it.
great food, great service,
salads were light, tasty and unique in flavour
burger was delicious
We are AGO members and we had a lovely time there entertaining guests. Service could have been a little more attentive. Mainly I wanted to suggest that water glasses always be filled. Most nice restaurants, they keep an eye on the glasses and fill them when they're empty so you don't have to keep flagging them down and asking again and again. It's a small thing but it goes a long way.
It's a good place to have dinner with friends or family. But the number of servers is limited, so sometimes it takes a long time to finish dining.
Great service and the wine selection was decent. The pasta special was fantastic and a good serving size.
Excellent, friendly service for a birthday celebration!
