Came here for the bottomless brunch with my girlfriend. We were very excited to try it and spend the full time (90mins) enjoying the experience. We ordered drinks and guacamole to start. A couple minutes later we were asked if we were ready to order. We said not yet. Three minutes later were asked again, and said we need some time. (It’s maybe 20 mins in at this point and we wanted to drink/eat our app first and order closer to half our time there). The waiter comes back and I politely tell him that since it was a 90 min experience, that we would like to enjoy our drinks and order a bit later. I asked to let him know when I was ready. He responded with, “so what can I get you?” I was dumbfounded and said, ….please not yet. He came back maybe 5 mins later (after sending a colleague in the mean time to ask) and I felt so forced at that point, and since it was almost to the halfway point, at that point I just ordered. Our experience was nearly ruined at this point and I have not been that frustrated or unheard at a restaurant ever. I’m also a server, in NYC, and have been for years; I’m always overly kind to servers and tip generously. My tip didn’t reflect how I felt the service was, and the ambience otherwise was wonderful. We loved our drinks and the food was good. Nothing incredible but if I didn’t have that experience with the ordering, it would’ve been an easy 4 stars. (Table availability was also not an issue. We were one of maybe 5 tables inside with 15+ open when we left, within the 90 minute time frame)

Did bottomless brunch with one other person. Waiter came over 15 mins after we were seated, took our drink order and provided our drinks roughly 10 mins after that. We didn’t see the server until probably 30 mins later. Half of our brunch time was wasted on waiting..to a point where other people seated outside were wondering where the server went, and a few tables got up to go flag the waiter down. We used to love coming here but this experience ruined the day:(

We loved dining at Agave! The reservation was for the full 1.5 hours, and we had excellent, non rushed service even though it was a busy Saturday. The food has an authentic Mexican taste with modern flair. Nachos were delicious. Bottomless margaritas for brunch are a must. Our favorite margarita flavors were mango, passionfruit, and guava. They had unique varieties of enchiladas. The ambiance was very chill yet upbeat. We got to sit in a partially enclosed area that had an outdoor breeze yet some cold air coming down, which was great for the humid summer day. We’ll definitely be back!

The first hostess was very friendly and accommodating. I got there 1/2 an hour earlier than my reservation, and while I offered to wait at the bar, they were willing to seat me at the table. I waited for my friend who was scheduled to arrive on time. The waitstaff hovered over me while I waited, making me feel uncomfortable. There were numerous empty tables around me and no one was waiting for a table so there was no reason to rush or hover. Food arrived quickly as it was brunch, but they uncomfortably hovered over our table while we ate. My friend wasn’t done with her meal and they offered to take her plate. She decided to let them take it, and they quickly handed us the bill. They gave us no time to chat, even though their website clearly states, you have the table for two hours. An hour and 10 minutes after our reservation time and less than 2 hours after I sat down we were asked to leave the table by another hostess. Again many empty tables and no one waiting to get a table. They made sure to add a 20% tip and the bill is a bit misleading. My friend almost left an additional tip. I told her not to as I found that they were rude, cold and unworthy of it. I would not recommend this place, nor will I return.

We were a group of 12 for a Saturday night res. When we walked in it seemed our table had been already given to another party, AnneMarie (the manager/owner) was SO nice and accommodating. She first gave us a pitcher while we waited for the inconvenience but then moved around a few seated people who were also happy to help. She made our group feel so attended to and nice - rare in NY on such a busy night to keep an amazing attitude. Was pleased, we all got margaritas and food was good.

We were seated almost 45 minutes after our reservation time. The manager gave us complimentary chips and guacamole as well as drinks as an apology. She was also very attentive to our group once we were seated.

The bottomless brunch is so worth it!! A good price and they make sure to keep the drinks flowing! The food is alright… the eggs benedict was cold and the huevos rancheros was not huevos rancheros (more like eggs and beans). Overall, I would come here again because again the drinks are awesome!

Before we sat they stressed the time limit because my whole party wasn’t there yet, which I found rude at first. Like can we sit and eat first. But they didn’t rush us so that was good. The food is not amazing, one friend complained of a portion of her meal not being cooked thoroughly and another said the food wasn’t the best but with a unlimited brunch and friends it’s always a great time. My second time going but I probably won’t be going back.

Music is blasting way too loud. Perhaps it’s the management thinking that’d attract customers but it was actually deafening we couldn’t hear one another!! Table of 12 people left to another place which had better ambience for conversations :)

My wife and I were in town and decided to try to “bottomless brunch”. The food was good, and they were technically serving “bottomless brunch” but it seemed that while our food came out rather quickly (and was good), it suddenly became hard to find our server when we wanted a drink refill.

When we first walked in the service was just alright. Our reservation was at 2:30 pm and we didn’t get sat until 3:30. While waiting at the bar, we asked if we could start our 90 minutes bottomless while we waited and t continue at the table. The response was no and we would have to pay twice: once at the bar and once at the table for bottomless. So instead we sat by the bar for an hour and just waited. Once we were seated the food was amazing and our waiter was friendly. However, there are mainly places in NYC just as delicious with better accommodations.

I think they might be closing soon. On New Year’s Day, when they were booked solid for brunch, THEY HAD NO COFFEE. Server said the machine was broken. Then we ordered a few diet cokes and we’re still not sure what they gave us. After telling us they had no iced tea, my “Diet Coke” tasted more like iced tea. We were credited for the drinks. The food was delicious, by all accounts, and the servers were doing really well considering all the bad news they had to deliver to their tables. I hope prospective employers will take that into account after Agave closes.

The food and service was great. But, we had to wait 45 minutes after our allotted reservation time. The host seemed super understaffed and we’re running around and hard to communicate with. Overall great experience once we sat down but before we sat down it was a little chaotic.
