Agave Del Scottsdale

Cool weather offered the opportunity to eat on the patio which was much quieter than the main restaurant. Our server Sara, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients and provided stellar service throughout the evening. Beautifully plated, incredible flavor combinations and ample portions. Margarita menu offers a variety of unique options and we found three that were worth a second round. The chocolate dessert is a must to share with the table. We plan on returning and bringing friends to experience this little gem!

Wonderful, authentic Mexican food from central Mexico. Not your typical Sonoran fare. Pibil, Mole, etc. Outstanding flavors and one of the best margaritas I've had. Service was excellent as well.

This experience started with one of the best servers ever! He described everything in the scratch kitchen to perfection and the food was excellent! We will be coming back!

First time here. Food was fantastic. We dined outside and the patio is cute. We started with chips, salsa and guacamole. The chips and guacamole were spot on. I had the cocorita margarita and my husband had the mango margarita- it was a special. Both were amazing. For dinner I had the enchiladas de mole and the hubs had the filete cuchos. Both were amazing. The mole had such depth of flavor and the filet was super tender and cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the tres leche cake. That completed the meal.

The service was fantastic. All in all a great meal. We will dine here again.

Octopus ceviche, shrimp dishes, and lobster chalupas were all outstanding, but especially the ceviche. Watermelon drink as well. One big problem: Even with most of the tables empty and just a few people at the bar, the noise level was crushing. Uncovered stone/brick walls are a problem, and music which was too loud caused bar denizens to shout. Net result: impossible to hold a normal conversation at a dining table.

The Mole .Chicken Enchiladas were delicious. There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our meals !!

Run, do not walk to this amazing spot. Fernando spent time walking us through the incredible menu, made suggestions and kept us entertained. The food was spectacular. Fernando encouraged us to push outside our comfort zone and be open to trying something new, which was great advice and led to one of the tastiest, most unexpected meals we’ve had in a long time.

The Margaritas were excellent, as were the chips and ceviche. We enjoyed The halibut, shrimp and mole verde enchiladas. Unfortunately, the recommended Mole verde Dona carmelita was a disappointment. The flavor was good, but the pork was very tough. Cool space.

Service was excellent. Food was quickly delivered. Wide range of dishes with options for vegetarians. Highly recommend for those visiting Scottsdale.

Fernando was the best host and bartender. Loves his job and is passionate about this place. Truly made our experience special. Food was outstanding from appetizers to deserts.

The food was all ok, but not better. We thought the ceviche was too heavy on tomato. Tasted like Bloody Mary mix. We had halibut for an entree. It was quite boring. Although nothing was bad, nothing was memorable either

we have been to this restaurant a few times now, and we have NEVER been disappointed. the food is authentic, and the drinks are very good. it's a cute place & could be very vibrant at night. don't miss this restaurant! try the Chicken Enchiladas w/ mole verde sauce. EXCELLENT!!!

Fantastic food, ambiance and impeccable service

Great food and drinks. They care about the quality of ingredients in their dishes and you can tell.

I’m a vegetarian and told the waiter. The enchiladas were good. However he did not bring out the rice as listed on the menu . When asked he said it was cooked in chicken stock. In those circumstances he should have told me that at the time of ordering or brought out something instead of rice. Just eliminating listed item is not ok.

The service was AWESOME and we had a party of about 20! The servers explanation of the menu felt like a theatrical performance - which was awesome all by itself - and you can tell they really do care about the quality of their food and tequila! Loved this place! I could’ve done without the cake fee for bringing in our own cake after paying > $900 for everyone else’s food and drink but I was just caught off guard by it, that’s all. Seems fair enough and everything else was very impressive.

Best food and best waitress ever!!

Agave is our favorite restaurant in Scottsdale -- we have been there four times in the last 10 days. The food is fresh, creative and authentic. The margaritas are fabulous. The ambiance is great and the service is outstanding.

Go at your own risk. On arrival, no hostess at the “Wait to be Seated” sign. No masks for hostess, servers or manager. Sat outside, bird crap on the back of the chairs. No, they cannot split a salad in order to share it. Ordered the salad with no shrimp on it...however, when billed that did not cause the price to be reduced. The chicken mole was dry and over cooked. Other than that, a really special evening.

The server Fernando is amazing! Would go back just for him. Great food and great drinks!

Graduation dinner

This is truly a hidden gem. Staff goes above and beyond. Food has great flavors and preparation is authentic. Go for a memorable experience and you’ll be hooked.

Mother’s Day dinner

We’ve been here twice now. Food is excellent, staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Just an overall great experience! We will be back!

Food was very good. Ambiance was very nice on the patio. But our server was so-so. Took awhile to come to our table. Checked on us once after food came and we had to ask him for the check after sitting there with empty dishes for more than 20 minutes and never even bothered to ask us about dessert which we would have gotten.

Went for Mother’s Day brunch with wife and kids, service was horrible. There were 6 tables when we arrived. Limited menu and it took us an hour to get the first item of a three course meal. We didn’t even stay for the third course due to being there at this point 2 hours. The food was alright but the service was one of the worst.

We went for Mother’s Day brunch. We were unaware it was a fixed menu when making the reservation so very limited menu. Food was excellent, service slow and inattentive. Our complementary mimosas and chips and salsa took a long time to arrive. We all enjoyed the food and the place has a fun modern Mexican inspired decor and overall good vibe.

Great ceviche and seafood poblano. Cadillac margs were good as well. Very nice and friendly staff. Worth a return on our next trip to Scottsdale.

Went there on Cinco de Mayo, waiter was not happy to be working and purposely frowned and wouldn’t make eye contact while taking our order, then he never came back to check on us after taking our order. Too many other choices in the area to go back to this one. Food was ok but pricey for what you got (think a small side of salad dressing size for the beans). Enchiladas were tiny as well. Walked out hungry and I eat like a bird.
