AG, Modern Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Great restaurant. Atmosphere is awesome, food is delicious, service is good (waiter was a bit too chatty and kept interrupting the romantic evening), and drink wasn't that good. Again, food was amazing. This is our second time there and we'd definitely go back.
We had such a lovely evening at AG. Our server, Danielle, was just wonderful. She was timely, attentive, and knowledgeable about the wine list and menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was really nice. It's quiet and tastefully decorated; perfect for a date or a business meal.
I have stayed at that Ritz before and really loved it. However I was disappointed by the restaurant. While the staff was very nice, I felt a little (ok- a lot) pressured to buy ‘upgraded’ version of about every meal. Ordered wine- got charge the large size... $16 for a okay wine. Ordered a salad- was talked into adding protein and did not realize that 3 shrimp would cost an extra $12... the desert was far from being what I expected. Will not go back. It’s too bad. Ended up spending $80 for one person....for a soup and a ceasar salad .... a bit too much in my experience!
Wife and I both purchased the Filet. I ordered the baked potato and she ordered the Brussel sprouts as the sides. Both steaks were very good. The gravy that came with it was awesome. I know dipping a filet in anything is sac religious but worth the try and continued throughout the meal :) Our only “issue” were the steak knives. They were not serrated so cutting was a little bit of a chore. Overall, very good place for a nice meal. A bit pricey for a steak, but sometimes special occasions call for money :)
We have eaten at this restaurant for many years and we were looking forward to another great meal at this restaurant but our experience was not good at all. We were not offered bread, my son and husband ordered steak and there was more fat that had to be trimmed off than meat. My husband and son stated that their steak was not tender and was hard to chew. The waiter did nothing more than take our order and bring us our check after dinner.
We love AG Modern Steakhouse. It's vibe was much more relaxed and hip than I expected from a Ritz Carlton Restaurant. The food was terrific and they had some good, reasonably priced wine options (several bottles at $50 - not bad for the Ritz!). We also loved the service. We'll definitely go back again!
Service was terrible! Took 20 minutes to get a bill just to leave the restaurant. We got our appetizer quickly but it was another 40 minutes before we got our main course and mine was not correct. The manager had to bring out the food and it was half warm. We have eaten here many times and it was better but never great. The menu lacks variety unless you want steak. They used to have more seafood options but not anymore.
We made a reservation for 6pm, and as advertised on opentable, we expected to take advantage of the happy hour ($5 drinks and small plates). When we arrive, the hostess said we had until 6:30. The bartender said it ended at 6pm then proceeded to give us “happy hour” drinks that were $8 and $10. The overall communication between hosts, bartenders and opentable need to increase. We wouldn’t have dined here that night if we knew we weren’t going to get what we reserved on opentable.
We're new to ATL. I asked my husband to book dinner in the city at a place we've never been. I didn't know what to expect. This place exceeded my expectations. Competes with Mortons or McCormicks, but so much better. The appetizers are single serve. I had the foie gras. He had the She crab soup. We were both very happy. I got the cowboy ribeye cause it was the only steak with a bone. He got the fillet. I have started asking for my steak medium plus. MW is too dry. Medium is too bloody. It was top notch and seared to perfection. Perfect amount of doneness. It was getting a little too bloody towards the bone. I gave that part to my hubby. The wine list was extensive. We decided to share the peach cobbler for dessert. The waiter had recommended the bread pudding, but we were in Georgia so I decided to go for the peaches. It was ok. I've had better. Next time I'll go for the bread pudding. It's on the second level of the Ritz Carlton & is near Centennial Park. This place is great for a date night or special occasion. The price is worth it.
Staff, food, creativity, cocktails, and ambience were all that I'd expect from a Ritz Carlton. Eddie, the manager, was accessible. Multiple staff congratulated us on our anniversary. They worked hard to make the occasion even more special. Cocktails we're inventive and the presentation excellent. The Smoky Old Fashioned and Pineapple Mojito we're standouts with excellent presentation. The filet was also amazing.
Took a friend for a birthday lunch celebration and called ahead to ask them to bring a dessert and add a little “extra touch” to the table. Got there and not a single mention of her birthday. I was so embarrassed. My food also was not cooked to proper temp. They removed it from my bill but not before making it completely awkward at the table. Overall it was a very nice lunch and support staff/service was great!
We sat out on the porch which was great for a beautiful day. The staff was very friendly but made a few mistakes and they weren't attentive enough. We had to keep getting them. I had the trout which was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals except for friend who's order was too rare. Loved the porch and vibe! Would go back.
