A longstanding tradition at Hotel Vancouver, Notch8 is delighted to welcome guests for Afternoon Tea service from Wednesday through Sunday!

If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children's Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats. Afternoon Tea is served from Wednesday through Sunday only.

We are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.

There is a 90 minute time limit for each reservation, if you have any questions or concerns prior to your visit please let us know.

Surrounded by pastel blossoms, cascading florals, and charming garden décor, indulge in an array of handcrafted pastries, delicate finger foods, and refreshing teas. It’s the perfect setting for a relaxing, summer afternoon with friends over warm conversations. Seatings at 11am, 1pm, 3pm - 90-minute seating. $75 per adult, $40 per child aged 12 and under - price not inclusive of taxes and gratuities. Cancellation policy & reservation changes: kindly email HVC.Notch8@Fairmont.com a minimum of 48 hours prior to reservation to avoid a cancellation fee of $25 per person.

The decor/setting for High Tea was excellent. Very well done. Service was fine. As a regular patron of Notch 8, I had expected better cuisine. First, the amount was rather light at the price. In addition, some of the sweets did not taste as if they were made same day. Scones were very good. From a cuisine perspective, I would not return for high tea but would return for the regular menu because it is very good and consistent.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for the ambiance, decor, and service, I’d give the high tea experience a 5/10. Food was subpar given the high cost of $76/pp. The only items that made the food stand out were the scones and cotted cream. Finger sandwiches were stale, short rib tarte was dry and bland, and the offering overall lacked cohesiveness. I would not come here again nor recommend it.

This was a nice experience, but we worked really hard to let the staff know on both email and on open table and called for all dietary restrictions and I got an email confirming that everything was written down for our table, but then the server seemed to never look at the notes and even when I said multiple times that we had written it down They still said they had it and then brought out the food wrong and then the kitchen made something again that I couldn’t eat because it seems like no one was looking at the notes when I was pleading for people to look at the notes because it was all there because we didn’t really wanna explain it in person because it is complicated. We have been to high team many times and this was a disappointing experience.

Great and memorable experience. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was awesome too. The tea and food were all made in the Fairmont Hotel and were excellent. It’s actually a pretty good value for the price. Highly recommend.

I’ve been there for tea about 5 times. This was my least favourite. The sandwiches were not that tasty and were really small. The desserts were large. It didn’t seem like the food was cohesive or fit a cohesive theme. Service with Serge was excellent, beyond.

It was very beautifully decorated. They made us wait a long time to get to our table. When we finally arrived, it didn’t take long for them to start ushering us out of there. I don’t eat meat and the description of which food items contained meat was very hard to understand. My friend has celiac and had to insist that her food items be brought separately as it was very unclear as to, which was which, an all the items were touching, which she wasn’t able to therefore eat. They were happy to bring her a separate array of food. However, I did eat a tart that had meat in it. I haven’t eaten meat in over 15 years and that was rather disgusting. They were apologetic when I mentioned it to them, but they did leave the plate with the tart on it near me on the table for quite some time. They were very interested in us leaving very soon after. We did not get to relax and enjoy our food.

I loved the decor and the tea & food were absolutely delicious. In comparison to other high teas offered in Vancouver the price point is much higher and I would definitely say that is due to the prestige of the location. The service was very efficient but felt a bit rushed and not particularly friendly. But the meal and company of my dining companions made up for it.
