   The Afternoon Tea was quite basic. The bread for the sandwiches had slightly hardened, clearly made well before our arrival. The scones were small and not warm. The desserts were small. Poor value for money. We ordered an adult Afternoon Tea for our 11 year old daughter and they substituted the smoked salmon sandwich for a jam sandwich without even asking! Still charged us the full £35. Much better options in the area.

   A very pleasant afternoon tea, there was some confusion around my wife's allergies, but was soon rectified. Very professional staff and lovely food, just a little busy where we were sat as it was the thoroughfare for the staff and customers out towards the kitchens and reception.

   Lovely setting. Prefer to use fine china when having afternoon tea. Otherwise lovely.

   I took my Mother for a festive afternoon tea last Sunday. Sadly the food was of a very poor quality and we ate very little. I wish now that we had booked to have a lunch at the bar area. Overall a waste of money and was not the Christmas treat I had in mind for my Mother. The staff were charming and it is a delightful hotel...

   Afternoon tea was lovely. The sandwiches were delicious and scones perfection. There was a lemon posset choux bun as an amuse bouche which was unbelievably delicious. The cakes were OK but not my favourite as they were yule log and mince pies. Service at Montagu Arms was excellent.

   What a beautiful surrounding to have a delicious afternoon tea. The weather outside was frightful! But the atmosphere and food inside was the best. From when we walked through the door until we left, nothing was left to chance. The food was absolutely delicious and lots of it, so much we had to bring some home! The service from Paul was excellent and he checked if we were having a nice time, if the food was good and if everything was ok. I would definitely recommend this wonderful venue to spend a nice cosy afternoon with beautiful food and drinks,

   Absolutely amazing property with exceptional service. The afternoon tea was exquisite and the tea room adorable, with wood fires burning in the fireplaces. Fantastic experience.

    Had a lovely afternoon at the Montague arms with a friend. Food was delicious (in particular the scones and jam), the location was beautiful and overall it was an extremely enjoyable time. Highly recommend if you want to pamper yourself!
