Nice food and there was a good quantity for afternoon tea. The cream for the scone wasn’t nice and the Prosecco was served warm. Very minor things especially as they gave us the Prosecco for free on the bill. Overall a lovely experience.

My Mam and I had a lovely time at the Davenport for afternoon tea. The lady that served us was so friendly and nice, and had such a lovely personality. It was so calm and relaxing and we could not stop talking about the food afterwards. We would recommend to anyone

I booked this afternoon tea for a pre Xmas catch up with my friends. Our group loves to go for afternoon tea. We tried at least 4-5 different places by now. Unfortunately this was the weakest out of all of them. Open table let’s you book tables for afternoon tea from 12.30 so I booked a table for 1.15 but they don’t actually serve tea till 2.00pm. I only noticed this after I already made the booking so I called the hotel to check if we would still get served early. I was told that’s no problem but to be honest none of the food arrived till 2.00 pm so maybe just book for 2.00pm. The sandwiches were dry, you could feel the top layer of bread started to go stale. The scone was rock hard and the butter looked like it’s been left out it melted and then it was put back in the fridge again. The hot chocolates were lovely and the desserts were also nice. The staff were nice, but they spent most of their time in the kitchen. It took about 15 minutes to try to get their attention so we can have a glass of water. There were only two other tables in the room... All in all there’s room for improvement, but it wasn’t the worst experience ever. I wouldn’t go back there as you can get a better afternoon tea experience with fresher food in other places.

A family with small children sat beside us to eat. This is no problem at all ( i have 2 children) but the adults did not keep their children under control. At one point one of the adults did not know where his child was. He had crawled under our table. The waiter seemed quite embarrassed by this. I appreciate it is an awkward situation to handle.
Apart from this we had a lovely afternoon, food was beautiful and our waiter was very attentive.
