Afternoon tea was great, staff attentive. Sandwiches and cakes were delicious.
Lovely food, lovely service and a great price. Would happily return!
Booked a table for Valentines evening. The new Terrace Restaurant was soulless, stark lighting, no flowers or candles and poor menu with only 3 choices of each course. We packed up and left without ordering. Astonishing that an Hotel promoting itself as luxury has such poor dining facilities.
The afternoon tea was good, they forgot one of us had ordered vegetarian but did bring the sandwiches and left us with the others too. We went on a half price offer. This made it good value-4 finger sandwiches, two scones and three beautiful bite size cakes. £20 a head seems over priced to me. At £20 for two it was great.
The atmosphere was nice-quiet and lovely decor. Sofas were so comfy.
Staff unobtrusive but attentive.
In spite of the delay in the arrival of our food, when it arrived it was delicious. I think it was already fed back to the kitchen staff that it's probably wise to deal with the young children first!
The manager couldn't do enough for us and made the birthday celebration extra special.
Another very good meal. No complaints about anything. Will definitely come again.
Lovely lunch friendly and helpful staff beautifully decorated for Christmas will definitely be back in the new year
Lovely evening, delicious cocktails and food Thank you
First visit for us at Seventeen and we would definitely come back. Our anniversary falls mid-December so we always get caught up in the office Christmas party season. We booked our table early and this worked well, as by the time we left before 9pm, the noise levels had ramped up.
Delicious food, very good service and all round enjoyable evening.
The ambience was perfect as we were celebrating a birthday, we decided to have the festive menu which was delicious and generous.
The staff were attentive but not intrusive.
This was my first time at Seventeen and certainly won’t be my last.
We enjoyed a pre-concert meal in Seventeen. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent but we felt that the menu was rather uninspiring - had we been eating there again during our stay we would have struggled to come up with a second choice.
Really nice lunch with exceptional service and food. Nothing was too much trouble and the quality of the experience represented excellent value. Many thanks!!!
Stunning presentation and quality of food for the price, could not fault and will definitely come back again. Compliments to the chefs for doing such a great job for my parents and I.
Had been meaning to visit and when I got a £10 voucher for a £40+ spend, I decided to give it a try with my husband. We really enjoyed the meal - the food was cooked very well and nicely presented. Our Polish waiter was lovely and made time to chat with us. The wine was nice and reasonably priced. Overall, a very nice lunch. I thought the fillet steak was overpriced and including the voucher, it was quite an expensive lunch with two large glasses of wine and one medium, the bill was £94+ for two courses for two persons. We would go again with our next voucher as it all helps!
Dear Parkys, I am delighted to learn you loved you dining experience at SEVENTEEN and enjoyed the service and felt welcomed. I am pleased that you found the food nice and well presented. I am sorry to learn that you found the dishes overpriced, please be ensured I have passed on your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards, SEVENTEEN
My husband and I had Sunday lunch and it was absolutely delicious. The service was also great. Would highly recommend seventeen to anyone. Top class !!!
Great new menu with the option for Sunday roast. Really enjoyed the lunch and will definitely return.
Lovely staff, very friendly. The food was very good. Highly recommend
The dinner deal we went for was not on as they had just got a new chef but we were apologised to and compensated with a free round of glasses of Prosecco. Food was delicious and service was superb. We had a birthday cake and they served it with candles and let us eat it in the restaurant. It was the perfect evening.
I had booked the table for afternoon tea for two as a gift to a grandparent. I rang and paid for an adult and child and informed them of wheat intolerence. I was advised that they forgot about the intolerence and therefore my guest had to wait half an hour for this to be rectified. My guests were told they could have any drink they wanted so they ordered soft drinks. When they left no staff were around so they asked at reception if they owed anything to which the lady said no so they left. I then had 4 missed calls chasing me up to pay for these drinks. I was recommended this as one of th e better afternoon teas in tunbridge wells but overall I will not be recommending this to anyone who else. I was very disappointed with the service they provided.
Lovely food, however certainly not a 5 star. Very under staffed for a Saturday night. Three waiters serving, two of which being trained on their first shift. Needless to say, service was not great.
A group of young girls on a table next to us ruined the evening, after they had complained a waiter fuelled them with complimentary bottles of Prosecco and shots - leading them to be all the more irritating. After giving the waiter some constructive criticism, he wasn’t really too concerned that we’d had a poor experience. Our bill came to more than a London restaurant and most certainly didn’t warrant it. Overall, very disappointed. I’m surprised management were not on duty during the most busiest night of the week to prevent such bad service.
The food was amazing and very tasty! Would definitely recommend the afternoon tea for value and price! Excellent!
Excellent service, lovely decor.
Food and cocktails great.
Really nice place good food
Fantastic Father’s Day meal - even a free beer for the dads - great service and return trip imminent!
My sister and I popped into Seventeen for a light lunch before an event on the Pantiles. We ordered from the lounge menu and was very impressed with our food. The service was outstanding!
Have been here many times for lunch and dinner - a lovely restaurant and they never fail to impress with efficient service and fantastic food. Ala carte is reasonably priced and the lunch set menu is very good value and the quality remains superb.
Staff are warm and attentive and the place has a relaxed atmosphere.
Only suggestion would be for them to expand their cocktail list - as I’d be curious to see what more they could do!
Would highly recommend!
The food was excellent. However service was not as expected and the restaurant really lacked any ambiance. It was very pricey. So compared to other restaurants in the area- we will not be returning !
Love going here as staff are very polite and the food is delicious. We always enjoy having drinks in the bar beforehand.
Great reasonably priced food and presented well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a modern feel with a good atmosphere. Well worth a visit, good for couples and groups.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had, the staff were so polite and helpful. I’ll be back in the near future
Very good service and food will be back. Very good location near the Pantiles also.
Although the food was good I was very disappointed with the service. They only had one person serving both drinks and food. He had to be reminded several times for simple things such as water. He was totally unaware of a special offer that was clearly marked on their website ' Two Roast for £25' There was a wedding going on next door which may have caused an issue but not acceptable for a Easter Sunday family celebration. Another member of staff came to help eventually, and I couldn't believe how messy he was dressed. For such a lovely looking restaurant I would have expected the man, possibly supervisor to not have been wearing a thread bared shirt and dirty suit.
Sorry for moan. I really was expecting more.
Food was okay but not quite as good as we expected considering the decor and style of the place. They brought me the wrong starter and the right one didn’t arrive until the others had finished. Half way through the email they had an influx of guests and it become really hard to get anyone’s attention.
We did not have a positive experience at Seventeen. There was a hen do located directly next to the restaurant with only a slatted door between us! It was very noisy and not what we were expecting. Quite who thought that was a good idea I don't know? If you are billing your restaurant as high end with prices to match then that isn't the way forward. The meal was a mixed bag. Everything came out a little too fast, as in i'm not sure its freshly cooked? My starter of duck was overcooked, dry and cold. My main was very nice but my husbands main of lamb was so rare it could have been resuscitated and was luke warm. The pudding was the only highlight. We were in and out in a hour and half. To add insult to injury the couple next to us were on a deal with 2 course dinner, one nights stay and breakfast cheaper than we paid for our meal. We won't be returning.
We came here for afternoon tea as we stayed at the hotel a few years back for our wedding night.
We were very dissatisfied.
Our waiter did not have a clue. My wife asked if you served herbal teas and he told us “no” which we found strange.
We then see on the menu that you do.
The scones were dry and crumbled as soon as you picked them up. No option to have extra sandwich’s.
I was not asked what sort of coffee I wanted.
All in all not the best which is a shame as the hotel looks great and we were really looking forward to coming.
Amazing restaurant and we will definitely be back - a little Gem
Have brought people to the restaurant a few times and we do recommend to friends and family on a regular basis.
Very lovely experience-booked a table fir afternoon tea with my mother and had to bring me 4 and 3year old along last minute-they were very accommodating and it was a pleasant tea despite the little ‘pickers’!
Great food at an affordable price. Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed an afternoon tea for four as a birthday celebration. Two of us are meat eaters and two are pescatarian and the selection of sandwiches was delicious. The service was very attentive and responsive to our needs and the surroundings were lovely.
