I took my daughter to Hollin Hall for afternoon Tea last Friday for her Birthday and we have a lovely afternoon. We were met by the receptionist Sophie who showed us to a window seat which had a very pleasant outlook over the gardens and surrounding countryside. The afternoon tea itself was delicous with a good selection of sandwiches and cakes and scones which were served with either tea or coffee. I would definately recommend Hollin Hall to friends and family and hope to make a return visit very soon for afternnon tea or even a lunch or evening meal as the food comes highly receommended by a friend.

Receptionist was busy filling her stapler whilst we were stood in front of her and didn't even acknowledge us til she had finished. The room was cold. Sandwiches were starting to go stale. Scones were dry. 1 Egg cup size of a cream desert which we had to ask for 2 spoons to share. Waitress ok. Would not recommend. There are better more welcoming places.

Had a last minute let’s go for an afternoon tea sort of mood and found Hollin Hall on Trip Advisor. Found the place easy enough, tuck in Bollington. Got in and greeted by the reception and they couldn’t find our booking (as I just did it 20mins ago) . They did a quick check with the chef and they were good enough to let us have our tea ! Manager was quite nice and explained to us it normally takes 24 hrs notice to do afternoon tea. Sandwiches are ok, lovely cakes and hot scones and really thick clotted cream and lots of strawberry jam.

the hotel is lovely and in a very pretty area and grounds. The staff were very personable and attentive. Unfortunately the afternoon tea was disappointing. the sandwiches weren't greatly filled and the bread was dry, it felt as if they had been left uncovered in the fridge for a while. There was only one type of each cake but enough to share, sadly these weren't any I'd choose again apart from the little pot of strawberry creamy mix which was delicious, very flavoursome. The rest were either dry or artificial tasting - surprising as the hotel says they bake fresh in the morning. I would also expect a tea menu but there are generally fewer places offering these now. I wouldn't go for afternoon tea again but the dining room looked fabulous and the staff were so nice, I would probably try a brunch or lunch.

I took my mum fir an afternoon tea. Lovely welcome by staff. Very intimate and gave me quality time with my mum. Nitjing was to much for the staff who were friendly and welcoming. Food was fresh and plentiful and the tea pot of tea was refreshed as and when we required. Highly recommended and will definately be going again.
