Afternoon Tea at Crowne Plaza Solihull
You can savour lunch, an evening steak in the contemporary restaurant or take afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking lake in the hotel garden. The terrace restaurant is perfect for a date night, family friendly dining or a celebrations. Sunday lunch is very popular, as is afternoon tea and dining for baby showers and intimate wedding celebrations (Solihull register office is opposite the hotel).
The friendly team will ensure that you are looked after whatever the occasion and the hotel was voted 'Best hotel for the Crowne Plaza Brand' for UK&I in the IHG Star awards 2019.
When we arrived there was no staff around so we waited and after 20 minute mutes I had to go to the bar where I was told she was very busy and would get to us which she did 10 minutes later. We sat in the bar to have a drink but 30 minutes later I had to go to look for a member of staff. There were none in the restaurant. Back to the bar! A gentleman there said he would go to look for someone! Eventually we were shown to a table and our afternoon tea was delivered 10 mins mutes later. Whilst we enjoyed our tea 3 members of staff were moving tables and chairs all around us. An hour later once again I had to go to the bar to ask for our bill! Very unsatisfactory. Whilst we enjoyed the food the service was appalling.

OKAY MY REVIEW IS ABOUT OPEN TABLE NOT CROWNE PLAZA. We turned up at the allotted time to find that there was no booking has it hadn't fed down from Open table to the restaurant. After speaking to the chef they were very apologetic and advised they weren't able to do afternoon tea due to weddings taking place and not having the correct ingredients to make the tea. they offered a 50% voucher for a return visit but has I am local and it was a special treat for my daughter I declined. Instead has we were staying for dinner we took a offer of a bottle of wine. The staff were really friendly and service was excellent just a shame Open table didn't send the booking.
