Experience The Ballantyne’s take on classic teas offered in England’s finest tea houses with a Southern flair. Enjoy a variety of tea blends from Rare Tea Company, the official tea of the Royal Family.

Tea is served each Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-4:00pm. The cost is $49 for adults or $64 including a glass of champagne and $29 for children, ages 12 and under. (plus tax and gratuity).
Credit Card Number needed to book a reservation. There is a 48-hour cancellation penalty. Any No-Shows will be charged $50 each.

Enjoyed Saturday afternoon tea with my sister and nieces who were visiting Charlotte. It was so beautiful, we loved it and created lasting memories. Anastasia was great and the scones were still warm and delicious. So happy we were able to enjoy it together.

I enjoyed tea with my daughters at the Ballantyne Hotel. The food was very good though the tea was just ok. Our server disappeared for periods of time causing us to ask another table’s server for help, when needed. The area and table settings were pretty. However, the cost was on the high side. All in all, I would go back again.

This is exactly what I was hoping for when I made reservations. The food, tea, and service were wonderful! It is a little pricey but it was a great experience and we will come back for special occasions.

This was our first tea at Ballantyne. It was a lovely afternoon. With excellent service. Ana was wonderful and very attentive and answered all our questions about the different teas. All the teas were lovely. And the food was amazing. The scone I thought was more like a shortbread cookie than a scone. And I would like to have my own jelly and lemon curd. Overall a fabulous afternoon

The tea started warm and was cold by the last cup, therefore didn’t steep correctly and was weak. The sandwiches were elementary—my 9 year old could have made the menu and the sandwiches himself. The desserts looked and tasted like they were from Harris Teeter, again with very little sophistication to their flavors. The scones were overcooked, dry, rock hard. In a land of biscuits, you’d think they could make something decent. The service was excellent, but the food and tea is sorely lacking.

I had the pleasure of experiencing Afternoon Tea at the Ballantyne and it was such a treat to enjoy something so elegant right here locally. The ambience was beautiful—sophisticated and serene—and the service was exceptional from start to finish. While the food itself was just okay, the overall experience made it well worth it. A lovely way to spend the afternoon and feel transported without leaving town.

I got married here at the Ballantyne hotel. So I had very high expectations for the afternoon tea. The ambiance is awesome. Love the decor. Tea was good , we each had a pot. Things that didn't work out well for me and my group: Food was below average (we felt we make better sandwiches at home). Turkey sandwich was too dry ,no flavor. Desserts were just ok. Nothing great. Tea pot - we noticed the other waitresses were serving tea for the guests, but our waitress just kept the pot to serve for ourselves. 24% service charge by default added to all of our bills. Price is too high for such mediocre food, desserts, and service.

Afternoon Tea at Ballantyne Resort was lovely! The environment is upscale but comfortable and welcoming. I had the pleasure of having Iza as a server and she was SPECTACULAR! So kind, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. I will go back JUST to have Iza! The girl needs a raise or bonus!!! The setup was nice and we had a small table with 2 oversized chairs. Only recommendation would be pillows for your back and raising the table a bit so you could fit your legs beneath to face your friends easier. Our Vegetarian options were fantastic although a couple items seemed a little "past their prime." I will definitely be back for Afternoon Tea!
