We love Wanda, she is the absolute best!!!
Wonderful 3 course afternoon tea with scones as well. Highly recommend! Tea options as well as Prosecco or Champagne too!
Absolutely LOVE having High Tea at the Phoenician! Always consistent. Elegant, awesome food and Wanda our always "requested" server is an wonderful delight. Looking forward to doing it again soon!
Poor quality sandwiches, desserts obviously made from frozen and pre-made ones offered by food service supply companies (you can easily find the same petit fours at Trader Joe’s and Costco’s), tea was weak and hot chocolate was watery, scones were the size of saucers but not flavorful, Devonshire cream was “off,” server was abrupt and very talkative...not impressed at all. Loved the vistas and the view, the piano was lovely but the food and drinks left us with a bad taste in our mouths. I’ve already wanted friends about the poor quality experience because the quality of the tea did *not* meet expectations.
As always, a delightful experience. The Holiday Tea is a tradition for us and as always, it did not disappoint. Natalie, Mandy, Giovanna - and all the staff - are phenomenal and make your experience above and beyond! We had the gluten free menu and it was delicious. Can't wait to come back for tea soon.
Great afternoon to celebrate the holidays with friends. We will continue to come back each year to see Wanda, as she has become our friend too!
The servers are so welcoming, friendly, patient and special. They are a huge reason that I return every year. It is a relaxing atmosphere with a live pianist in a beautiful setting. I recommend this for any occasion.
The Phoenician holiday tea has become a tradition for my daughter and I. This was our third year and we’ll be back next year. The tea is exquisite and the food is scrumptious. A wonderful way to celebrate Christmas!
Tea wasn't up to par - probably because of the holiday and crowd. Food wasn't over the top as in the past. Tea got cold and was never reheated. Will attribute all to the crowd. We will return, though.
It exceeded my expectations! I will definitely go back for the experience!
Very Expensive, we were placed on a cocktail table not a table top, had to cross my legs away from the lounge table really annoying. We accommodated the situation however l I got the bill the value for the low bar top and cost were humiliating. If you expect for us to pay for 2 $265 at least give us the dignity to a proper table for tea. Rip Off Sorry but never going back unless you class it up for all patrons. Embarrassing for my guest as well.
My wife and I enjoyed a wondeful afternoon with great tea, champagne, and food. The staff was incredibly friendly and the setting was relaxing and enjoyable.
I treated my special needs adult daughter and her special needs friend to this tea. No one explained the serious price hikes for the upscale champagnes offered. I didn’t have any, they sipped on a couple of glasses and our bill was $330. It was a shock. As much of a nice treat as it was, it was overpriced.
Was weird when we walked up to hostess - she looked at us and said - I'll be back in a few minutes- someone in the bar needs to be seated and walked away, no greeting, and seemed hurried, noticed she didn't bring anyone back from bar. Service was not outstanding, seemed fractured. Have had afternoon tea at the Phoenician several times, this experience was not pleasant and almost twice the normal cost. Holiday decorations minimal. Will not be back for their Holiday Afternoon Tea.
Terribly overpriced for the experience. The food was nothing special; the bread in the finger sandwiches was dry and the flavor of the food was bland and unexceptional. The service felt very rushed. Definitely not worth $100, much less the $375 that we actually paid for three people. Will not be back.
Everything was pure perfection from the service and food to the beautiful hotel lobby. Tea at The Phoenician is a very special and unhurried event, and I am always sad when it ends!
Wonderful Holiday Tea outing with 'The Girls". The venue is amazing and the service is exceptional. I used to work here when I was in college and it's nice to be able to come back as a guest some 30 years later and see that none of the elegance has been lost. It's been wonderfully updated and modernized without losing all of the charm. Make a reservation during the holidays for this classic, timeless tradition, you won't regret it!
We have been going to tea for years. It is wonderful. Just a suggestion... make changes to your menu? It has been the same for 10 years!
This experience is absolutely delightful. An oases of calm and beauty. My friend and I have made it an annual kick-off to the holiday season.
Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a girls day out. So delicious, great service and beautiful decor/setting. Be sure to valet and get your valet ticket validated by the hostess - just tip a few bucks.
Outstanding service. Recognized a birthday for us and also accommodated increase to our reservation which is much appreciated. Thank you!
This is always a treat! Wanda and Natalie, the lovely ladies in charge, are consummate professionals making you feel welcome and pampered. I highly recommend this event.
Afternoon tea at the Phoenician is a wonderful experience. The food and tea are excellent and the service is superb.
Very nice experience. I would have loved to have a few more sandwich types. But overall, very pretty ambiance. Lovely and very memorable.
Everything was beautiful and delicious! The servers were all so friendly and made my mom and I very comfortable throughout the afternoon tea. It was a special afternoon!
As always - tea was perfect. The service, the food, the view - everything was perfect. I especially loved the piano player. He was outstanding. The bar was set high and it is surpassed every. single time.
We had afternoon tea planned to celebrate two birthdays - and when we arrived there were little cupcakes for the birthday girls and they sing to you also ! It was so special .
The service at this resort and Tea is phenomenal . We stayed here and were just so impressed by how courteous and happy the staff all are . They are ready to help in a flash ! The food choices were catered for the vegetarians and were delicious. The servings are so generous I could barely make it through the last course of desserts! I would highly recommend this Tea for anyone looking to have a nice afternoon with friends or family- and if you’d like to feel spoiled !
Wanda was wonderful and made the evening very enjoyable.
Thanks Wanda T! You’re the best!!
This was our first time at the Phoenician for high tea. We enjoyed it very much. The service was amazing from the valet and hostess to the actual tea service. They even were accommodating to my sister who has special diet needs. This was greatly appreciated! They made her feel inclusive and the rest of us were able to enjoy the full experience. Everything was wonderful except for some of the food. The desserts were great, but the scones were very dry and doughy. I love scones so consider myself a bit of a connoisseur. None of us cared for them very much. the variety and flavors of the sandwiches were very good, but on a couple, the bread seemed a bit stale of hard on top; like they had been sitting out for a while.
I love tea service in general and everything was wonderful except for a few of the food items.
Beautiful view of the mountains and we sat right next to the pianist. The experience was lovely and welcoming. The food and tea was delicious.
Love the Phoenician for high tea! It was noisier than usual, largely due to bigger crowds (thanks Downton Abbey), but we will always be back!
Beautiful afternoon of tea, champagne and friends! The sandwiches are so delicious, the scones and accompaniments great, as well as the desserts. For sure get the Champagne, they keep filling your glass as you enjoy piano music and the afternoon. A great revamp of the traditional tea.
Had a great time at the Afternoon Tea at The Phoenician. We love the tea from this establishment! Love the opportunity to have as many tea sandwiches, scones and pastries. This is always a great experience and one we will be doing again!
Service was good, but the food was lacking. The bread for the tea sandwiches was dry, as were the scones (they literally crumbled apart). The second issue was that it was quite warm near the windows, so much so that we were sweating. Third, I did not enjoy having afternoon tea with the bar patrons. It seemed strange to me to have the afternoon tea venue embedded with the bar crowd. In my opinion, afternoon tea is meant to be an elegant and tranquil experience, whereas the bar is casual and fun. Both ambiances are great independently, I just didn't think they complemented each other when blended together.
Absolutely beautiful tea service! Staff is fantastic! Highly recommend!
Very efficient staff, perfect ambiance and stunning views of the Phoenix area. Everything was perfect.
Afternoon tea is amazing. Location, service and food are all 5 star. Must do when in Scottsdale.
