The new tea room is TOO LOUD!!!!! Soundproofing is desperately needed! We could barely hear the piano, we couldn’t hold a normal conversation & I left with a pounding headache.
The setting, food, tea and service personnel were all qute excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
Absolutely wonderful! Very elegant, food was delicious and service was top notch! Advised them in advance of my food allergies and I was contacted for detailed instruction. Chef made my finger sandwiches specifically for me so they would be safe to consume. There was a piano player providing soft music to the ambiance and the views were extraordinary. Highly recommend Afternoon Tea at the Phoenician!
A truly special place. Wanda, our hostess is amazing, she makes everyone feel like one of her special friends. What can I say, the food, the atmosphere, the dishes, perfection. Let me mention the music. An 82 year old piano player that knows every song by heart and really sets the mood. The scenery is to die for.
We made reservations for the Tea on Thursday, and expected to have just "tea". The server offered us champagne in a manner suggesting it was included. When the champagne continued to flow I realized it would be an additional cost. Celebrating a friend's birthday, I did not think it proper to announce or question our server, and embarass the birthday person.
I feel that there could be a better way, than to put a hostess of the celebration, in a position of social faux pas.
The service and food were lovely. Gracious hostess and servers.
We have been going annually to Afternoon Tea for 5 years, even continuing the tradition when we moved to Florida. The atmosphere and most importantly the staff make the experience. Wanda provides amazing service and we have enjoyed seeing her each year. Her passion and love for bringing others together over tea shows!
Amazing staff and service! The piano player adds a classy touch and he's very talented.
Wonderful experience! I always request Wanda as our server! She is fabulous!
Beyoncé has nothing on Wanda! From the personalized menus to all the small details ... tea did not disappoint. The Plaza (NYC), among other places, could learn a bit from Wanda and her team. We’ll be back!
We loved it but wish the desserts had more flavor.
Everything was delicious and Beautiful. Service was superb👍👍
This was a belated birthday celebration. We had a lovely time. My friend and I had had tea in Edinburgh (at the castle) and we were hoping to capture some of the magic of our Scotland experience. The Phoenician provided a close second to Edinburgh Castle while while adding their own flair to the overall tea.
We always receive the BEST service when we enjoy High Tea at the Phoenician. Wanda is exceptional!
The whole experience is enchanting. The food and service is amazing! This is a great place for a birthday celebration.
Always great food and service. It is such a treat to go to afternoon tea at the Phoenician. There is live piano music and a great view out over the valley.
A wonderful afternoon at the Phoenician. The tea service was outstanding, the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. I would gladly return again.
Outstanding, amazing experience on so many different levels Wanda and Natalie were both so personable and provided such a special time for my Mom and me. I would recommend this tea/lunch to anyone... the property, the views, and the people are all above and beyond. Thank you!
We had the best tune. Our service was amazing, the food was fantastic. It brought back so many great memories of tea here with our Grandma. Thank you for a wonderful time!
The high tea is one of my favorite things to do with girlfriends.. I can’t wait to do it again
The concept is lovely. Unfortunately, we felt that the staff was too busy taking care of the other tables and everything was behind on ours. One of the ladies was trying her best to take care of us, though. The others were entertaining other customers' needs. No additional tea was offered and water was never refreshed. Also, desserts were ok, but sandwiches and scones were delicious. Sorry...it was a bit disappointing...
Wanda is the best. We had an amazing birthday celebration with champagne, delicious food and treats, and that view. The staff were attentive and generous with food and beverage. We will return!
Lovely tea, as always. Plenty of food and many choices.
From the fabulous selections of teas to choose from, to the delicious sandwiches, scones and many delectable desserts. Our friends’ afternoon tea was simply lovely!
We had a lovely time at high tea at the Phoenician. We were surprisingly full with the little no-crust sandwiches, scones, and pastries. Price is steep (no pun intended), but it’s worth it and so nice for special occasions. The ambiance and view are beautiful. Service was wonderful!
The service for afternoon tea at The Phoenician was fabulous. Live piano, endless sandwiches and desserts, friendly staff - overall, an experience worth repeating.
Wish the bar wasn’t right next to the tea tables...
Perfect for date night or a special get together with friends. The grounds are beautiful and the room is elegant but not fussy. This is a fixed menu that changes weekly. Starters are a nice plate of cheeses, fruit and nuts followed by a variety of canapes and mixed bites for the main. Our meal included bites of ahi in pastry, fried mini lobster tails and beef wellington. Dessert included a dark chocolate truffle and short bread. Everything was delicious and it gave us the opportunity to taste things we wouldn't normally order. The service is professional and attentive without being intrusive and staff is very friendly. Your champagne glass will never be empty! If you aren't staying at the resort, bring your parking ticket for validation.
The entire staff made the afternoon tea a memorable and fun place.
This is so unquestionably one of the finest dining experiences in Phoenix. Class and quality are the key descriptors. The classic teas are excellent and the traditional tea foods are a complete joy. I like the egg salad and salmon sandwiches best. My wife prefers the tuna. Then it is on the the excellent scone. The whole thing is capped off by delightful pastries. We will be back soon with friends.
I have been going to tea here for over ten years. Typically have the same server, she’s been there as long as I have been going. She is not as refined in her manner of service as I would expect. This time she almost threw the food with the tings in the plates. The quality of the food is not as good as is once was, but quantity is abundant.
I preferred when the courses were served on the stacked caddy and left in the center of the table. Also, the champagne was of lesser quality than previously.
The resort and lobby, including the tea court has been redone and looks quite nice.
I will however, check out some other locations offering afternoon tea.
The Phoenician needs quite a bit of notice to accommodate common dietary restrictions; even though I called on a Friday for a Sunday reservation, they told me they hadn't received my information and weren't prepared to offer me a gluten-free tea. Happily, some of the servers seemed able to pull some things together- unhappily, it was mentioned "there's another gluten-free diner here and she didn't eat all her appetizers so here are what's left!". I'm just baffled how that's a statement made at a fine dining establishment; honestly, I'd rather you lie and let me think it was whipped up for me instead of getting literal leftovers.
The tea was nice, a good selection of tasty varieties, and the pianist was faultless- engaging and contemporary without being cliche. Views are unbeatable. Our table however was a strange choice- a block cylinder to the floor with no space even for toes to go under; uncomfortable, as the choices are to straddle or approach sideways to get close enough to the table to comfortably eat. Not sure if tables are all like this but I wouldn't spend another tea sitting at one.
Servers were all cheery and competent, though the pace of service is quite fast for tea- we were in and out in just over an hour. Hardly an expected pace for high tea, but clearly geared for max reservations.
Note, a child's price is advertised but tea is in no way catered to children; we were surprised at the lack of even a few child-friendly options, like a pb&j finger sandwich or shortbread cookies...our children picked at salmon sandwiches and brandied cherries. Seems like a major oversight for such a nice place.
Beware a 22% (!) gratuity is added, even for small parties. I tried to flag down a server to clarify if this charge was in fact a tip as it's labelled strangely on the bill, but I couldn't get anyone in time and wound up leaving an extra 15%- far too much for being served someone else's leftovers and charged $40 per child for no child-friendly options.
Wonderful. Excellent service and fabulous food in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.
The service was great! Rosa was attentive and so kind to my mom! Thank you for making afternoon tea lovely!
Afternoon tea at the Phoenician was wonderful. A memorable experience.
Was fantastic! Would definitely go again - everything was spot on and the three courses were not only delicious, they were beautifully done...
Introduced afternoon tea to two work friends.
Just love afternoon tea!
Afternoon tea at the Phoenician is perfect for out of town guests, special birthdays or just getting together with a special friend or two. The service is always delightful, the food is delicious. They offer gluten-free and vegan options options which rivals the daily menu. My guests have never been disappointed!
Go to tea at the Phoenician!
What a lovely way to celebrate an anniversary--civilized, quiet enough to enjoy each other's conversation, and wonderful service with a delightful wait staff--wanda and natalie were both professional and charming--the tea selections were numerous with an occasional surprise--a black tea with chocolate and coconut was actually quite good --the tea sandwiches were delicious and varied--and you certainly could have as much as you desired as they returned numerous times for refills--pastry was plentiful, cranberry scones quite good---shortbread wonderful as was the lemon curd and devonshire cream--the real stuff!!!! It isn't inexpensive but worth the splurge for a special occasion if you can justify $100 + for a delightful afternoon with lovely piano music
