Since Open Table requires reviews to be 50 characters long (dumb) I had to repeat myself.
Another fantastic meal. Combined, my wife and I have dined at Adobo, either with business or personal probable a dozen times. This time we took our tea age boys. They were impressed and cannot stop talking about what a great dining experience it was.
Awful! There was no host/hostess to seat you and we had reservations. Waited 45 minutes for nachos that didn't come. They had to adjust our bill because we had to leave to go for an event
Went to Adobo tonight before a concert downtown. Apparently, they weren't prepared for the rush of people. We had made a reservation and were seated promptly and then waited at least 15 minutes to be acknowledged by a waitress. At her first stop, we ordered drinks and dinner. She told us it would be about 20 minutes. Forty minutes later (without being acknowledged in between), the waitress came with one drink and it was the wrong drink. She returned with the second drink, also the wrong drink and we asked for our bill and left. Definitely not coming back. Never even got chips and salsa.
Honestly, this restaurant has gone from my favorite Mexican in town to just one of the many. The food has gone dramatically downhill over the past couple of years. At this point we only go if there is a Groupon and we're getting dinner at half price.
The food was wonderful as always. Our service was disappointing this time around. For the price of food there, you do expect a higher level of service and the server was just not meeting our needs.
Great food, service, margaritas & tequila! Sorry to hear they will be leaving this location.
Amazing tequila dinner. Great offering. Hope to attend one again.
We made a reservation for 9:30pm and they were surprised that someone came in so late for dinner. It took a few minutes for us to be seated because they had to find a table that wouldn't interfere with setting up for salsa night. We ordered margaritas, steak tacos, and steak enchiladas. All of the food was very average and rather expensive. Your average El rodeo or la hacienda has way better food at much better prices and you won't leave hungry.
Once again a terrific experience. The special I ordered, a poblano with a variety of meats and a delightful walnut-something sauce, was terrific. Would order it again, anytime.
Guacamole made table side was excellent! Cold beverages and entrees were perfect. Best chips and salsa. Very good value. Adequate parking
I've eaten at Adobo many times. The food this time was a disappointment. The casserole I had was mostly mushroom and not much chicken and lacking in flavor. However, the margarita and quacamole were still the best in town. Service was good but not excellent as used to be. Makes me wonder if the place is under new management.
Great dining option close to everything Downtown. The tableside guac is an absolute must!
Awesome food and atmosphere! Table-side guac was divine!
Food is always delicious! Such wonderful flavor! And they are doing a special dinner last Wednesday of each month!
Very good food and a good value too. Our server was excellent. Four of us met for dinner before the Chris Botti show at the Hilbert Circle Theater. With our reservation we got one of the private spaces which enabled good conversation without straining our voices or ears, despite the overall moderate nise level as the restaurant filled up on a Friday night. 2 of our party were not fond of very spicy food and 2 of us love it. The menu satisfied all. We shared 2 orders of the table side prepared guacamole ordered mild and spiced up for us with serrano chiles on the side. . My chili relleno was very good with the addition of some habanero sauce as I find poblanos pretty mild. My spouse had a steak marinated in a spicy sauce and pronounced it excellent.
The restaurant was busy, so we didn't see our waitress much. She didn't seemed thrilled to be serving our table. For the price, the food wasn't anything special- you could get better quality food at a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant and pay a lot less. My boyfriend left his credit card on accident after we paid the tab- we tried calling during the restaurant's hours the next day to talk to the manager to see if the restaurant had it, but after trying 3x each we got the restaurant's voicemail every time and ended up just canceling the card. Certainly not stellar customer service.
Great table side guac. We went for devour downtown and the meal was well worth the $35 a piece. The crispy shrimp tacos were delicious.
Went on a Saturday night during Devour. Guacamole dip made at the table is a very nice touch. It was also tasty. Appetizers: cheese empanada great with a snappy sauce, ceviche was bland.
Entrees: Chicken medallions very flavorful, salmon was very tasty, steak had no seasoning and sauce was bland, potatoes didn't seem to fit the dish, and the shrimp tacos very bland.
Dessert: churos tasty, pineapple cake very good.
this was our second visit to the Adobo Grill and once again we were very happy with our meal. service was attentive and friendly.
price for the Devour Menue was maybe a bit high but the quality was very good
i will recommend and come again with my wife
This place was great! From the servers and staff, down to the amazing food and drinks. Everything was delicious. Thank you!
Great food
Fair service
Took my daughter here for a night out. Amazing Mexican cuisine. Very authentic.
Didnt eat all day because I was excited to come here and try it out. I ordered a 10 plate of empanadas that only had 2 empanadas.... Their flavor wasn't there and to only get 2 of them is a complete rip off.
I then got my 20 plate of steak and everything else on there. The steak was ok but not to die for . Everything else on the plate...the smashed ask no and beans and guac.... It all was very bland.
I let the watress know and the manager offered us a free dessert for the inconviniance which was nice but still didnt make up for all the over prices dishes in my eyes.
About an hour later I ended up puking out my entire dish.
Anyway, I will not be going back.
Not after a dish makes me puke....there must have been something seriously wrong.
We had never been to Adobo Grill but bought a Groupon that made it extremely affordable! We had guacamole made tableside...it was a thumbs up! Ordered the ceviche sampler, all very fresh. Shared 3 entrees between the 4 of us, and churros for dessert. All was very lovely presentation. Restaurant was lively on a Saturday night and our server Ruth was extremely friendly. I had read about her on other review and was so happy when I found out she would be taking care of us!
We loved Adobo Grill. It was a 20-30 minute drive to downtown Indy, but it was well worth it. Parking was extra though and that was a bummer. $12! The food was outstanding. Both meals were very tasty. The tableside quacamole was OUTSTANDING. Sangria was best I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his marguerita. Middle ranage pricing. However, we did have a groupon. We definiately will go back for this authentic Mexican cuisine.
From Margarita in a Martini glass to main course everything is authentic Mexican heritage.
Had a great Friday night date, due to a Groupon, at Adobo Grill. Had the nachos, instead of the usual guac, which were very good. The salsa was to die for, and our entrees were hot and filling! Another great meal at Adobo Grill.
*Scored a parking spot, already paid on the meter, right in front. What could be better?*
Enjoyed the tacos pescado! The strawberry Margarita was amazing!
We celebrated our daughter's engagement. It was wonderful!
The guacamole made tableside was fabulous as were the margaritas. The best margarita ever! Everything we had to eat was delicious. We'll be back for another great evening.
Nothing special. I enjoyed my meal but neither my wife nor my family like their dishes. Marked service as poor because my wife's salad came with the entree even though she asked to have it first. That is a pet peeve, because you can't enjoy either when brought together.
Horrible experience. Server was rude and we felt like she either didn't like us, or didn't like her job in general. I also eat kinda slow and I was the only one left eating, when our server passed by, our server said "oh, you're still eating?" That was very unprofessional. After our entres my friend ordered chips and queso and the queso tasted awful. The worst queso ever! It took a very long time before the queso was served and some other person delivered it to our table. We were thinking the server forgot about it. When she saw that the queso was already on the table, she said "oh you got the queso already? Good" in an unlively manner. We also had a gift card that we wanted to use for the partial amount of our bill and we had the balance checked by another associate before billing out. We for sure knew how much was in the card. When we billed out, the server just said the gift card isn't working. Very frustrating. We just gave the gift card to the receptionist when we left since we are not going to use it anymore. Not coming back ever again.
Food was awful and server was not attentive at all, will never go back.
Everything was fine with the exception of our waitress. It was as if she had no desire to be there. Never smiled.
Excellent service!
The tacos we had for entrées were interesting and very good. The host who seated us was friendly and accommodating. Our only criticism concerns the waitress who was not very attentive and often absent. But overall, we had an excellent experience.
The guacamole was excellent and prepared to our taste at the table. Our server was Ruth. She did an excellent job and her recommendations were perfect.
The margarita with the smoked shot was the best margarita ever! Food was excellent and the staff was great.
This was my first time dinning here. I wasn't impressed. The food lacked flavor. It's a bit pricey for the amount of food you receive.
